Regularly eating red (beef and pork) and processed meats in particular is associated with a higher risk of TYPE 2 DIABETES, according to an analysis of data from 31 study cohorts published Tuesday in the journal The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology. Researchers analyzed data from nearly 2 million people across 20 countries.
There is no mechanistic action by which red meat, exclusive to eating only unprocessed meat or with low carb vegetables without a Standard American Diet induces pathological insulin resistance. Anything can be associated with anything else. Cohort studies are unscientific and weak at best. Next.
I have been tracking my nutrients on Cronometer, lately. I can reach the protein just fine, but I find getting Calcium, Vit. A and E is really lacking.
You’re overthinking as long as you’re getting them vs none at all you’ll be fine. Life isn’t perfect and humans have got this far without worrying about perfect scores.
More greens would help. Spinach, kale, collards, etc. contain all three of those things. I try to eat about a cup of cooked kale and a cup or two of different cooked greens everyday.
Plants are missing essential amino acids also even if they did have them all... they are in the wrong ratios. The body needs all the amino acids to be available all at ones in order to make protein. For example if you have alot of one or two amino acids and very few of the others then the limiting factors are all the other ones that are missing or are in low amounts it doesn't matter if you have alot of some. This is what it means to be a complete protein. Meat and eggs are complete all on their own, and plants are not.
Joe Best stated in the video he lost 70 pounds and needs to lose more to get to his ideal weight. I see only good things about him losing 70 pounds. Do you see a downside?
I am a long term vegan and am at about 9% body fat. On average adult vegans are 10-20 pounds lighter than meat eaters. it is a simple fact vegans have substantially lower rates of obesity.
It’s a myth that just being plant based causes weight loss. When I opted to be vegan for the animals 6 years ago at the age of 59 I weighed 75kgs. My weight briefly dropped below 70kgs over the next 12 months but I’m back up to 75kgs. 70kgs is probably my ideal weight but I enjoy food, beer and wine too much. So my own experience suggests that changing to plant based results in short term weight loss but to maintain that you need to manage your diet, same as everyone else.
@ Probably. But like any diet you need to be strict with it and maintain it or the weight goes back on. Vegans come in all shapes and sizes though on average they are overall less likely to be obese than the general population for sure.
ESTIMATING THE IMPACT OF FOOD CHOICES ON LIFE EXPECTANCY STUDY: According to computer models out of Norway, a 20-year-old who went all in on the plant-based diet could add 10.7 years to their life for a female and 13 years to their life for a male. Females and males over 60 could add 8 and 8.8 years of life respectively. An 80-year-old who started a plant-based diet could add 3.4 years to their life expectancy.
I like Dr. Milton MILLS very much. He's generous and always in a good mood, which is a sign of good nutrition. However, I find that he eats a lot, perhaps too much, of protein, to the detriment of carbohydrates. Perhaps that's why he's so broad and thick. But is it really so good for kidney health?
In another interview from VeganLinked, it said he's of shorter, stockier build but muscular. Several years ago, he was in a serious car accident that left him nearly crippled that made walking difficult, let alone exercising. He's an ER doctor who's always worked the night shift and often works doubles and admits, therefore, to relying more on convenience foods than ideal. In his spare time he does a lot of reading and watches TV to relax.

Almonds are responsible for enormous environmental damage - they require huge amounts of water and pesticides to grow. 10% of California's water supply goes to almond production. And more pesticides are used on almonds than any other crop. The most commonly used pesticide is glyphosate (Roundup) - which is toxic to the bees that are needed to pollinate the almond trees. But you just want to virtue signal about how you drink almond milk rather than real milk.
The more meat I eat the better I feel. Tried vegetarian diets for long periods and always felt bloated and tired. To each his own, but I thrive on meat.
Hey can you guys do a video explaining why humans got shorter, more brittle bone, smaller brains and an explosion of modern disease once the agricultural revolution started please? It seems like it wasn’t from famine either as famines definitely existed pre ag revolution. Im curious to know what it is in plants that caused all these issues! Thanks :)
@ it appears that it was due to malnutrition as a result of not adhering to our species specific diet that we had been eating for 2 million years prior. We became reliant on a few crops that we were not meant to eat it looks like. So does this mean if we went back to eating and living like we did before the ag revolution we would be taller and healthier? I also figured i would look up what our stomach acidity levels are compared to other living beings (omnivores, herbivores and carnivores) and looks like we have the same level of scavengers (carnivores). Am i crazy to think that this means we should be eating only meat like we did for 2 million years? I wonder what would happen to any other animal of it was not fed what it had evolved to eat? Would it also get sick? Why wouldn’t we feed tigers plants in the zoo? Why not feed Gorillas meat in the zoo? Im very curious.
You don't know about the science you are talking about. Pick any plant food you want that you feel is deficient in an essential amino acid and I will look up the amino acid profile and prove you wrong.
Actually I do know. I've master's degree in biochemistry, My diet is 95% pecto-vegetarian. Sometimes I eat meat, and I can eat meat if offered. Many plant proteins are incomplete because they lack one or more essential amino acids in sufficient quantities: For excample: Nuts, seeds and grains are usually limiting Lycine. Legumes are usually limiting Methionine and/or Cysteine. Some Vegetables are limiting Methionine. It is absolutely possible to get full and sufficient amouts of essential amino acids form plants. But it is very difficult to get them from single source only. Hope this helps! :)
@@MightyBearKing You know the truth because I made you repeat it. " It is absolutely possible to get full and sufficient amount of essential amino acids from plants." Study has found that vegans get twice the amount of protein daily they need for a healthy body. End of story.

@@jacekgeisler8027chew your food well. Cook them all the way, then rinse with water before you eat. If it still bothers you, start with smaller portions. Yes, your gut will adjust. There are days i eat nothing but legumes, and it doesn't do anything to me.

What about C15 fatty acid benefic aspect, contain in Ghee ? If you want to save animal life, stop bullshitting about nutrition. I was vegan for 5 years after I've got type 2 diabetes.. Thanks to the 3/4 of carbs in the legumes, and everything else... I hope to return to veganism, but I'm waiting for better meat alternatives that DON'T contain 3/4 of carbs. And the C15 is awesome by the way for longevity. We have to synthetise that, or be able to replicate it in labs. Before every vegetarian and vegan countries become blasted with Diabetes.
Ofcourse butter is dairy. There’s plenty and plenty of butter alternatives out there though. 😊 Here in Denmark 🇩🇰 my favourite vegan butter is called Smørbar and it’s better than any “real” butter that I’ve tasted before in my life and I’ve never liked butter at all but this vegan one is nice. 👌🏻
Geez, he doesn't know biochemistry. A complete protein contains all nine essential amino acids in sufficient quantities that the human body needs but cannot produce on its own. He said "all" plants. Incomplete Plant Proteins (often deficient in one or more essential amino acids): Lentils Chickpeas Grains (e.g., rice, wheat) Nuts and seeds (e.g., almonds, sunflower seeds)
All plant proteins contain all amino acids, but some are relatively deficient in some essential amino acids. Best advice is don’t trouble yourself about it and and eat a variety of plant foods. Basically if you eat grains and legumes you’ll always be fine. The obsession with “complete” proteins is a myth put about by meat industry advocates.
@@philiptaylor7902 He said, "all plant protein is complete".
Et la choline ?

I’m shocked Dr. Mills has not written a book 📕
You stop smelling on a carnivore diet once you do it for a long time
Dr doesn't know one thing, iof you add avocado to that rice after its cooked, its next level meal

Why are these two long time vegans so heavy?
@@robsengahay5614 True. But if you go low fat whole food plant based, you will lose weight.

Almond milk ageed is best for cereal 🥣
Image thinking ceral is healthy 😅😂😂😂😂😂😂😅😅
@bamafan1411 Imagine thinking cereal can't be healthy. I bet you're a proud animal abuser, too.
@MW-em5uk dairy is many times worse. Sounds like you are trying to intellectually rationalize your abuse of cows.
@@OneEarthNationV you are willfully, and gleefully destroying the environment with your mono crop diet. Enjoy your Roundup laced almond milk!

Thanks :)
There are films, videos, lectures, and interviews on YT; it just takes some effort and willingness to be open to new information.

"All plant foods have protein", TRUE. "All plant plant protein is complete protein, NOT TRUE"
Many plant proteins are incomplete because they lack one or more essential amino acids in sufficient quantities:
For excample:
Nuts, seeds and grains are usually limiting Lycine.
End of story.
hahahah, scrambled tofu is his favourite! Just like I thought he's craving for real eggs, these carnivore food imitations are just funny. Btw, there is not worse smell than on vegan diet where bloating and constant farting from legumes, fibre, and all that is inevitable. Not to mention the constant toilet occupation lol.
Has that happened to you? I'm planning to go plant based buy I've heard your gut adapts after a while and the bloating and gas is way smaller.
@@jacekgeisler8027chew your food well. Cook them all the way, then rinse with water before you eat. If it still bothers you, start with smaller portions. Yes, your gut will adjust. There are days i eat nothing but legumes, and it doesn't do anything to me.
How come I've never seen a plant based bodybuilder??? Explain oxalate, lectins, phytic acid and any other plant toxins?? Can you also explain why 100% carnivore diet helps so many people?? Please don't point to a study funded by someone who's biased (and funded) towards plant based. I've tried both vegan and carnivore and vegan only didn't work for me...
Just google plant based body building. There are a bunch of them..
You're either blind or biased and not looking...
you haven't looked then!
‘You can’t have booty calls for bad foods. ‘ 😅
Before every vegetarian and vegan countries become blasted with Diabetes.
do you consider butter as a dairy product?....i'm lactose intolerant and don't consume dairy but butter gave me my life back
Ofcourse butter is dairy. There’s plenty and plenty of butter alternatives out there though. 😊
Here in Denmark 🇩🇰 my favourite vegan butter is called Smørbar and it’s better than any “real” butter that I’ve tasted before in my life and I’ve never liked butter at all but this vegan one is nice. 👌🏻

What about real butter?
it's still from the exploitation of animals, which vegans are against. Vegans are vegans for animals, health benefits are just a bonus.
Geez, he doesn't know biochemistry.
A complete protein contains all nine essential amino acids in sufficient quantities that the human body needs but cannot produce on its own.
He said "all" plants.
Incomplete Plant Proteins (often deficient in one or more essential amino acids):
Lentils
Chickpeas
Grains (e.g., rice, wheat)
Nuts and seeds (e.g., almonds, sunflower seeds)
He knows more than you because if you were correct then your local hospital would have a protein deficiency ward…..IT DOESN’T!!
Tofu has all nine and a perfect replacement for meat. Bam. Add that to a varied pb diet and you'll be fine.
Complete means protein contains all nine essential amino acids in sufficient quantities that the human body needs but cannot produce on its own.
You are agreeing to him lying about what he said.
Lentils and chickpeas are legumes and grains are all deficient in all essential amino acids.
Dairy and all meats, eggs are so toxic that my grand parents lived to 100 years old, always healthy. My mother is now 94 and lucid and strong.
