It's sad that the queen of the skies may never fly again for British Airways but at the same time we have to move on and anyway I do think it is best for the old bird to rest it's legs, having captured people's hearts and it's fair to say that no other aircraft will ever take the crown from what is certainly one of the greatest aviation triumph's of all time.
I’m so heartbroken. I’ve flown with the BA Jumbo for several years, dating back to when they were at Terminal 4 at Heathrow. She inspired me to expand my horizons and to love flying the way I do now. I’ll really miss seeing the 747 in BA colors.
There’s still a good chance you can. Korean Air, Air China, and Lufthansa’s 747-8s likely won’t be retired any time soon. And there’s still some 747-400 operators left, such as Asiana, Korean Air, Rossiya, Air China, Lufthansa, and more.
Wow, this is really alarming. To me the British Airways 747-400 is nostalgia. From my earliest I could remember back in 2008 when I was three. I never flew on a British Airways 747. But, I’ve seen them countless times at Philadelphia, New York, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and in Dubai too. So Thank You British Airways 747-400 for your service. 1989-2020 🇬🇧🙏🏽🌺
This is so sad. I never flew the 747 in BA colors but have flown them with Pan Am, United, Northwest, and TWA( all bellyup now). What is most likely to happen Is these aircraft will be flown to Victorville, California for desert storage. These queens have been very well maintained, and as such would likely be purchased by Air Frieght companies such as Atlas, and Kalitta. We wouldn’t get to see them in their beautiful BA livery, but at least they would soldier on for another decade.
I knew this sad day was coming! Back in April I ordered a Daron British Airways Boeing 747 model, it was so beautiful. It felt like it predicted the fateful future. So sad the Queen will no longer be able to handle passenger service like it used to. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is the worst time ever !! All Speedbird/BA 747 Will Retired Immediately then 2024. I hate this year. Before this day, Sometimes I am very hope that British Airways 747 will return back to skies maybe september of this year until 4 years later.
Just think Boeing ends production all 747’s.,El Al,KLM,VIRGIN ATLANTIC,BA all of them are retiring or are already retired now after the 6 or so remaining 747’s to be built no more 747’s will be ever built and after probably 2-3 decades we will never see the queen of the skies to wrap this comment up I just want you and me and everyone Plz write 747 in the comment section never got to fly the 747 hopefully I can become a 747 pilot in the near future YOU WILL BE MISSED QUEEN OF THE SKIES✈️✈️✈️😭😭😭😭😭😭😭Edit:Write your favorite version of the 747
May the 747 rest in peace. She inspired many aviation enthusiasts like myself
#747
Flight Deck Aviation R.I.P 747 :c I hope there is a chance it will come back :c #boeing747
Aww man. This is really sad news. The queen of the skies is slowly dying and becoming rarer and rarer around the world
Aviation Center THATS SAD :c it was my favorite
My first flight on a 747 was in 1979 and my last in February this year. She has served the industry and the public well,
All these beautiful liveries goes to dust😓

I feel that too
Damn this means I’ll never fly on the queen of the skies :(
I got my one and only chance on a United 747 about 5 years ago
It’ll be the same for me unless Lufthansa ever uses their 747s for their SFO routes. 😔 At least they have -8s in their fleet.

The first aircraft i went on was a flight from miami FL to london in a 747-400. Im going to miss the true. Queen Of The Sky.
Sigh. Here goes another. A moment of silence in honor of the Queen. Glad I got to see them in time
I had amazing experience during my flights with British Airlines. Thank You. Don’t give up ❤️
First Concorde retires in 2003 and now 747. That is two iconic aircraft now at rest. I hope the 747s get relocated to museums like Concorde did.
It's a shame it was such a beautiful and effective aircraft🌈🌈🌈
This is so SAD 😢😢😢 I have always loved the B747-400 and I will never forget.
Heartbreaking news
No more BOAC, Landor, or Negus Retro jets :(
Hopefully they can display somewhere
British Airways better put the three 747 heritage liveries in a museum!!!
That would be amazing. I’m hoping they preserve at least one.
Ishrion Aviation kinda like how delta kept that retro painted 767 at the Atlanta Air Meseum whatever the actual name is
Thia is very sad story for U.K.
I’m going to miss them ;(

I just shed a tear. No other plane compares to the Queen of the Skies.
Oh no the saddest news I've heard just heartbreaking. Was so glad I flew back from Miami last year
Does anyone know the location of the BOAC 747?
I believe it was ferried to Cardiff for storage a few weeks ago.
I am so mad because I was planning to fly on one next year to London. And same for KLM.

Wow i cant believe this
I thought they keeping them for few more years.
NOOOOOOOOIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WHYYYYY IT WAS MY FAVORITE :cccc
good news, less air traffic, less pointless car journeys being made worldwide, a decrease of human activity may well give the planet a chance.
😢😢😢😢😢
First
28 is a lot
WHY!!!!!! I've never flown on a B747-400! That means I'll have to fly on a B748! British Airways should order the 748!!
Their is not such a thing as the 748
@@classiccarrot4355 yes there is a freighter version
Also, LUFTHANSA has 747 800s, book them when it returns?
@@classiccarrot4355 he means 747 800
Phil Montejano oh ok
Phil Montejano i thought he meant a 748 like actually 748
British airways have should’nt retired all of their 747s…….they could have retired 5 or 6 more, not fully
So we will only see crappy small planes flying. This is such a bad decision.
Here lies Boeing 747
😭
Buy a 747-8
ca open shenzhen recurit sales to third world with loans ch bank
Good riddens British Airways, going the same fate as the Empire!
@X X they're planes. Who cares? A bus with wings. Not the only thing the Brits are going to lose in the foreseeable future.
