playing it. The hostile miner was tough to take over, the wave of drones is tricky, the second hostile miner took me by surprise....
I think I a long way off trying anything like that, I hope they keep staying 7000km away from me for the time being.
Great dramatic entrance. It started out like it was going to be a tremendously hard or almost impossible. But that first find really changed the outlook. Looking forward to your future episodes. I have made some major improvement in flying in the earth’s atmosphere and base building. So still learning by your videos.
Actually that encounter was fairly representative or slightly above average of what you can get, there are better, there are worse. It's not that much of a challenge surviving on encounters, but I need to do more than survive, I need to a mass enough resource to take on the Factorum. Thing will be how long until I get an assembler? There's not many encounters with one.
great start, you can use that encounter as a new base. just make an airtight room and put your survival kit inside of it. after that, you can explore the other encounters to get more parts. If after a while nothing viable comes up, you can just give it a slight push to set it adrift at 5-10 m/s. I played a scenario where you start like that (Adrift - Newtons first law) and it was quite fun
Thanks Slab. There no rush to get into things, the Factorum isn't coming after me, so starting with a comfortable base, with air, I think is the right idea.

Notes: parachute if going planet. Also, grab anything with nickel in it as you go, it'll be a pain. And is it too early to harass with reminders of habitation? Haha.
Thanks, I genuinely need the prod in the right direction on that one. I've been thinking about it overnight, I captured habitation, so I think I'll use that to start with, fix it enough to make airtight and maybe keep the ghost as shipmates.
Europa will have ice to make hydrogen from. There is a good chance that the other encounters will shoot at you also. I may jump into this scenario, I have already got a few things I would do different.
If you've got any thoughts on how to improve the mod, let me know. I'm thinking restricted components added to NPC containers and stores for sale could be an optional add-on to the mod.

46ltrs of hydrogen in a small grid ship, I don't think there will be much hurling ...but I think that chunk of ship will get on the move at some stage soon.

I don't think rotor or hinge lock on the tool bar is a new thing. In fact, I'm certain it's not.
I made a rover with a trailer like two years ago and it has the rotor and hinge locking set up on the toolbar for connecting and disconnecting the trailer.
My trailers were the same, but there was only the option for ON/OFF, not one for ON and another for OFF. Particularly for groups this was a pain, because you'd only need to change one independently and you couldn't lock or unlock them all, only swap positions.
I was hoping you were going to moving onto solo Factorum content :D
Was not planned in advanced and not specifically doing it because simply because of the new update, but everything has just worked out that way, fate one could say.

Make a small ship and move on to the planet.
I'll have to see what I can find, only got the one small grid battery right now and no assembler to make more power cells. Large grid is a fuel issue, I don't have any. But when I'm able, planting the haunted section a base on Europa might be an option.
Did you see the new Real Solar Systems mod? Think ya might do a series around that?
I spotted it, have got past that yet. Certainly interesting, can't imagine the scripting that went into that
@@Wellington6012 Probably one of the most revolutionary mods to come to SE. It's surprisingly easy to work with too!
@@jacksonbarkerthebluehairedfox I never tried it, but there was the rotating planet mod too, must be the same mechanics. Only base game system or can you set for custom planets?
@@Wellington6012 You can, but it currently looks wonky. It generates a proxy for the planet, and only the vanilla planets have proxies currently. The developer's working on a way to generate proxies for modded planets, but for now they appear as black balls until you go to their surface.
Might not be worth going to europa until you have more cargo/ hydrogen tanks?
It's a chicken and the egg decision. Thing is I burnt through 2.5k ice going [in theory] a straight line and now I have none. It's a gamble whether one of those two encounters even has hydrogen. I really on the fence.
@@Wellington6012 I think then the only real option is Europa. Might even encounter something while you're there.
@@rorythomas9469 If I slap one of those new cargo containers on, they'll be 3x the medium containers volume.
@@Wellington6012 only limit is the thrust to get back into orbit. Go big on cargo.
