This was very interesting and how the rakes run over the circuit board for the arms. I was thinking that you could get those broken plastic pieces 3D printed. Amazing how much electronics jill has inside, especially running by battery. Thank you for sharing your video and what you do to repair her.

"Building another jill" makes it sound like you're literally creating them, like some fun, playmates God!

Lol yep! Once I get the heart going (aka the battery pack) then I can reach into my bins of parts and build a Jill up from scratch!

So what if he’s building another one it’s none of your business

Like, the real challenge would be make copy of schematics. Then we could just 3d print them and diy the Jill

Get a tripod. Get a tripod. Get a tripod. Or, you could get one of those mount things like you said, but get one with a swivel head or a gooseneck or something so you can turn it all kinds of ways in the air. I am so listening to this video.

Lol I have two tripods! I just need something that goes above me while I work. Tripods are so static.

@@cricketandcorkysclubhousef8686 yeah. That does present a problem. You need some thing on a retractable and adjustable arm mount that can hang out and above your workspace. Oh boy. I’m sure they create such a thing, but I have no idea what it’s called or how difficult it is to install.

Hiya, love your videos. How do I send you a short video of my doll opened up with her electronics clearly showing for you to see. She's not a Jill, but is an animatronic doll. just wondered if you could just point out what might be wrong. Any advice would be appreciated 😢Are you on instagram, so I can send video? Wondered if you could suggest what is loose inside!

Do you keep on hand MEK? 9(Methyl Ethyl Ketone) it is a great chemical that if hard plastic breaks or cracks is can remelt the plastic together…I mix chatty torso bits of plastic to remelt and have flesh tone to seal the side seams of pull string talkers….

Hmm I will have to look it up. I use JB weld mostly as it comes in peach color as well. That’s cool I fix chatty Cathy too. Just learned a few months back. I haven’t fully restored one on video yet. I should give that a try. I have a minty set of the tiny chatty twins I want to fix up, but I’m always scared to break them. It’s odd to me that you have to physically break the doll just to repair it. Thank goodness they advanced to screws lol.

a tripod or mount would be really useful to you. Another option to consider would be a head-worn camera.
I don't have any talking dolls myself, but seem to like watching repair videos anyway. 'J a little heads up though, you're a little hard to hear when Jill gets going. Something to be aware of, not meant to be nitpicky or anything. Smooth sailing in your latest project. p

I don't understand what the green board on the outside of the servo is. Is it just some peace from the 80s that we don't use anymore? Would a person even be able to get that today?

I doubt they make those anymore either. There’s one on each arm and one under her neck. They the little golden tracks transmit to another metal part on her arm. They control her arms going up and down and her neck moving left and right.
