Fixing my Corky and Cricket Dolls.

- Going to attempt to fix my Corky and Cricket dolls. On this video I will be changing the belts on my Corky and Cricket doll. These belts will make the eyes and mouth move. I had a cricket doll when I was younger
Hi, these are great dolls for what we paid back than we got a doll that talked and has moving eyes and mouth. Today we pay over $500 dollars and no moving eyes and mouth. Thank you for watching 👍

Has anyone done a belt replacement of the tape deck on a cricket doll? I've got my original doll I'm 42 my daughter just turned 3 I pulled her out to see what my daughter thought of her and her tape deck isn't moving at all when I push play 😩

Hello, yes! But the color does not matter as long as it’s the same size or slightly smaller. I picked up a pack of assorted rubber bands different size. I hope this will help. Thak you.

Hello, that’s what I’m saying. If they did the Corky and Cricket with mechanical eyes and mouth back than they surely should be able to do a Chucky like that now. Also it didn’t cost so much. Thank you for watching 👍

I managed to get my Cricket to to animate finally after changing the bands. However, her audio cuts in and out. She didn't come with a Cricket tape (she came with this Fisher Price tape) and at random points it'll start making these static-y sounds .
Life As Marie, the tape for Cricket & Corky, are coded that’s what makes there eyes and mouth move. Try to get a Cricket, tape from EBay, it should work much better.
I've used a rock and roll tape and also recorded my own voice. It worked. That was 36 years ago. Now I have to fix her eyes and mouth to move. Thank you for this video.

My cricket dolls eye is pushed in a bit, I've read that this means it has come off the bracket. How do i fix this?

What Adhesive you use for repair

Is it possible to fix the cassette player?
Hi, it is possible I personally have not work on the cassette player but most of the time it would be the motor. I believe that there is a video on TH-cam that shows how to repair not working corky cassette player. Good luck I hope you can fix it let me know if you do.

Hi, I fixed my dolls cause it was the band but I don’t know about fixing major problems. What is wrong with them?
My Corky doll was speaking fine last night but when I turned him on, he’s speaking SUPER fast and I can’t figure out why. He has the original tape in him and all batteries have been replaced. No signs of rust or anything. I don’t know what to do. Has anyone else encountered this issue?? If so, how was it fixed?

I didn’t paint her. I just replaced the belts.

I got the bands changed but still no mouth or eye movements, I think possibly the mortars are gone but idk
If the gears don’t move the it should be the motor.

I cannot fix the mouth, it works for 1 second and tops moving the mouth.
Hi maybe the rubber may be too tight or too loose. Try different rubber.

Where can I get the replacement bands and how would I know the right size? I have a cricket and her mouth and eyes no longer work.
Rashida Graves I got a pack of assorted rubber bands from dollar tree. Then pick the closes to the original that’s a little smaller. You could also take the original to Lowe’s and ask someone to help you pick one a little smaller than original. Let me how it goes. Good luck!

A sewing machine shop or craft store where they sell sewing machine belts would work too, take the original with you for sizing.
The sewing machine belts are better for cricket and Corky dolls cause they won’t snap as easy. Just using a rubber band will work, but if you plan on actually using your cricket often to listen to her sing to bring back old childhood memories, or plan on passing her down to your own kids, the rubber bands won’t last long cause they will get warm and snap inside the doll fast meaning you’ll be replacing them all the time.
Get a thick belt replacement from Lowe’s or get a sewing machine belt, they last as intended like new.
Horror it up
Another good idea is using a sewing machine replacement belt too from a craft store or sewing machine store. They are thicker and last longer than regular rubber bands. they are practically close to the original band.

Tina Gan parts for this tape recorder is hard to find. To be honest the shipping cost and repair may not be worth it. You would be better off buying a working one on eBay. It could be the speaker or the volume switch.

Hi, You can use any rubber bands as long as they are slightly smaller. I picked up a pack of assorted bands at the dollar tree and pick out the closest to the original. Thank you for watching.
Hi! Well we replaced the bands but then it worked for a few seconds n then it stopped! My husband thinks it’s the motor. Do you have a video showing how to replace the motor ?
@@elmarobinson6779 Sorry I don’t. Those motors are hard to come by but if you find one it shouldn’t be too hard to replace it. I have not needed to replace one yet. Let me know how it turns out.

Mine has a functioning tape player but no sound or animation.
Gamerlevi Hi, I have a Teddy Ruxpin, with the same problem no sound. I’m thinking it could be the speaker. The animation could be the belts or the solenoid. You can get assorted rubber band at any dollar tree store. Pick the one closest to the original just a little smaller. And make sure you use new battery. Check out others video on how to clean or replace the solenoid. Good luck!
