Here's a live view of Cropster roasting software on the Loring S15 Falcon

I use Cropster Roast Intelligence software to track and manage our roast data at Blending Room. It’s now my tenth year with this brand of roast profiling software and it has been with me when I started roasting on my Diedrich IR3, then Probatone P12 series 2 and now the 6 month old, Loring S15 Falcon.
Cropster software is an extremely valuable tool within my business. This is a view of a roast in real-time, showing the data that I monitor and deem the most important. In Loring’s case, bean curve, bean rate of rise, return temperature and inlet temperature.
The Cropster roast curve shows the above data streams throughout the cycle of each batch. In this case, it’s a recipe that I am following and you will be able to see the way points, or markers, at which point I must make a gas adjustment or mark a roast event such as the onset of Maillard, first crack etc. You can also see Cropster using AI and machine learning to predict what may happen over the next 30 - 60 seconds based on the rate of rise. I’ll attempt a longer video on this at some point in the future.
I hope this short clip proves a useful insight for those who may be learning to roast coffee, or for interested coffee brewers.
