What cracks me up is how many people gave jay z so much credit for baring his soul or making personal grown up songs, but Nas has been doing for years!
@@vjones2828she's a nod to the past we study lady day, sarah ,dinah and ella because of her the young people do pay attention ❤ sampling Nat was amazing #jazz.
Presidential rap. I've been saying this is what the king rappers should be on. Not that *DRANK* *DRANK* I'M A BOSS COZ I BE DRAKIN. STOP. A real boss does not clown around like that.
Nataile cole was so beautiful i am so glad that nas was the only one rapper that gave ms Nataile cole her flowers before she passed away in 2015 ms Nataile cole had the most beautiful eyes in world
That last part where Nat King Cole sings his original verse from Unforgettable, and his daughter Natalie is playing it on the piano, that truly epitomizes how unforgettable those 2 legends are. Nas really captured that image of classic golden style with this song
"Colliding with big names(Jay z) that coulda made your career stop... all that and ur man is still here and um still hot " That line just gives me chills. GOAT.
When this came out I was wearing baggy clothes listening to Wayne , Soulja boy and all that other stuff . I remember playing this and not really thinking much of it .Now that I'm older I can really appreciate this. It's timeless.
Love Natalie’s scene at the end… she sung the original song with her dad the originator behind her on the green screen like Nas had Queensbridge behind him on the green screen as tribute 👍🏼
my fav nas song.......wow cant believe it didn't even get 1 mill hit............ guess people are so used to garbage that they cant recognize a good thang. .....love me some nas.
Nas has been my dude since day 1. Him and Chrisette Michelle did it up, on this song. Great collabo..... It makes you think of someone who brought, and continues to bring JOY into your life. We need more rap songs like this!!!
Im sure I'm not the only one who feels this...... This music or better yet this era of music and these times were truly golden. I was a late teenager when some of the greatest hits and artists of hiphop existed. The nostalgia runs so deep. I am now 32 years old and I can't even explain what I would give to go back to these days, where music brought people together and you'd meet your significant other through physical interaction and proper communication. But I think the most painful part of listening to old school music is that.........these days will NEVER come back and there is no rewind nor reply button to our lives. So to all of us that lived the best times of your lives during this era. Cheers and God bless!
Albums take me back to them high school days. Exactly what you said is what I still feel when I re listen to these. I’m glad I finally got to experience New York during the winter season, that was my dream in high school 😂🤙🏾
I was listening to Nat King Cole, and I was clawing through my head to figure out 'what's the rap song my dad used to listen to that sampled this?' I finally found it.
That's awesome. Two fantastic artists, so different and sublime in their own right, real ambassadors of music. Listening to both of their music will truly enlighten you. I wish you luck in your further endeavours of discovering geniuses like Nas and NKC.
This is a dope song. The first verse is pretty touching. Especially the part about kicking back when you're old. It's almost like he is an old man, wrapping up his career and feelings in the first verse
And I don't wanna keep bringing up the greater times but I'm a dreamer, nostalgic in the state of mind...'Man, they don't make em' like they used to' is what the old heads used to say.
I love me some Nas, he is so deep that is why he is one of my favorite rappers ever. I still get goose bumps listening to this song and I love the "unforgettable" sample.
Such a beautiful song.. It takes me back to the illmatic album and era... It takes me back to the 90s... Such a perfect name for this song (can't forget about you)
I'll miss Natalie Cole. Growing up, I thought she was a family member. She and Lou Rawls. :) Thank you for this beautiful collaboration, Nas and Chrisette Michelle.
Nicole Franklin I know and it's such a shame that we lost her so soon and she was a beautiful lady who had the voice of an angel so may her spirit surround us all as she rest in peace.
