The Notorious B.I.G. channel is the official TH-cam home of The Notorious B.I.G. featuring his catalog of official music videos. The Notorious B.I.G. is widely recognized as one of the world’s most influential rappers and has sold more than 17 million albums in the U.S. alone. Before his murder in 1997, Christopher Wallace recorded two classic albums as The Notorious B.I.G. His debut Ready to Die arrived in 1994 and helped revitalize the East Coast rap scene with massive hits like “Big Poppa” and “Juicy.” Life After Death was released in March 1997 just weeks after he was shot and killed in Los Angeles. The record topped the U.S. album charts and featured the hits “Hypnotize” and “Mo Money Mo Problems.” It remains one of the few hip-hop albums to ever achieve Diamond certification from the RIAA.
Today is my dad's birthday. He was killed in 01 and this was his favorite song. So I play it every year for him. HAPPY BIRTHDAY dad.
It's that time again. And last night dad they thru us a surprise birthday party. I'm sad and happy because you were killed at this age and now I've out lived you. You'd be proud. I own a store, I've written children's books. I've been on TV and in magazines, radio. My books are in libraries. I'm proving that sky is the limit and I am flying.

Man I didn't know this song until highschool but that was me when i was a kid people talked crap everyday my closest friends would roast me at school everyday and i never got into fights because i thought id kill somebody...but i just took it because i saw their struggle even if noone else and knew it was a cover. I had one pair of red ass filas that people gunt everyday and two shirts and some track pants i would just switch the shirt and i never had underwear until i could work so i just used my gym shorts. he say you wanna see the inside ill see you later i never had anybody come over especially a girl so i didn't date because my mom is a hoarder and we had so many roaches when you come in and turn on the lights 100s of them scatter and we all used to stomp them. it grossed me out and sometimes theyd even crawl out of your bag in class and you just try and play it off or kill it immediately. it was so horrible. that's what its like. I wanted to be that bully sometimes like he claimed to be but luckily i grew up in evanston not the west side or south side of chicago cuz i wouldve kilt a lot of people or they wouldve killed me.
Biggie is boss. RIP
This always put a tear in my eyes.... takes me back to home during my junior/senior year hanging out with my friends

@@DracoPadilla- yep they were about drop their labels and join forces - basically would have had the whole rap game in a choke hold, Now imagine Pac & Biggie together on their own label, imagine their influence and the artist that would have signed with them .. and more importantly the influence and impact- that kinda power would have elevated and influenced our people around the world 🌍 .. This song takes my breath away each & every damn time. The way the beat rattles against Biggie's hard-hittin' rhymes is excellently flawless. Not to mention the video was creative as hell. Still my all time favorite hip-hop video
I was hanging around with friends in the streets, drinking and smoking and the best thing that could happen back in those days was a hood brawl. Nothing to see..... In the nights, I used to play this song and dream on anytime when we where drunk.... years later I took all my courage and went back to school with 21 and now, Im about to become a teacher. 2pac and Biggie helped me on this hard path. I believe that there are more examples out there, their life was not wasted, I´m sure, their message reached a lot more than me.
This video is so beautiful and moving. Biggie was already gone when they filmed it, so they decided to cast everyone as children. The kid NAILS his role filling in for Biggie. It’s a masterpiece!

MusicIsLife826 he said had.

Gavin Kelley Sue Knight almost killed all of the greatest rappers from his record label lmao.
Suge had nothing to do with anything except that he was driving the car 2Pac was shot in. If you think he has anything to do with the planning of the death, you're just a fucking idiot. And no it was not about being from a different coast. It was about rival record labels who were both making the best rap music and shit got tangled up between Biggie and Pac. They were friends until they got caught up in the game. That's when the stupid diss songs came out and both of their careers went downhill from there.
The song is very close to my heart having to deal with people doubting and abandoning me in my life . I learned to never allow people to determine my success based on my shortcomings anymore.

However, I wish him and Pac didn’t fall out!
RIP Both of them
RIP Biggie...this is one of the most creative music videos from that era...it's all in the details
2pac is the most loved and influential rapper ever so lots of pple say he's the best, but when it comes to pure rapping skills no one is better than Biggie
your like 12, you don't know anything about hip hops rap 😂
+Nasir Jones im not 12 stupid, that number isn’t my age
When it comes to pure rapping skills there are many better than Biggie. Biggie and Pac were overrated madly especially after their deaths. R.I.P. To them but your review on them is wrong
Biggie fans will never agree...2pac fans will never agree, however Tupac really hit it off and i think it's just his fans that kept him 'alive' after his death for all the great work he did. Yes his death 'hyped'' him up more but in regards to his work, it's because people wanted to see a lot more from him but were upset he would not be around to do more films, more music, more court cases etc that's why everyone goes on about him. I wouldn't say he ws overrated by any means because he truly made took hip hip to another level...plus he made death row even a more bad ass label. Biggie however had his own fan base for different reasons....even biggie's fans loved Tupac...but tupac's fans out of respect n love would not side with biggie.
Agreed there are way more better rappers than biggie... Dogg pound's kurrups had mad flow. Dre's lyrics were to normal. Snoops lyrics are normal to good. G unit had good lyrics but the music could have been better...like only half the albums would be good. T.I got good lyrics but some of his songs are let down by his beats. Ludacris was awesome! Eminem got fantastic lyrics and fantastic beats. People say Jay z is a good lyricist but i have never ever bought any of his albums.
+TheTruth 1) the stuff 2Pac made never took Hip Hop to another level at all. He was dope but as revolutionary as you're making him sound. Also he was lyrically average 2) Dr Dre has never written any of the stuff he rapped. He always used ghostwriters. And Snoop Dogg is just a freestyle rapper with a funky flow who's only good for entertaining a crowd. He's nowhere near one of the greatest though. 3) There are many more rappers who had their careers cut short before reaching their prime who aren't overrated like Biggie and Pac. Big L, Guru, Big Pun and D.O.C. are some good examples. 4) I'm a fan of both the rappers and I like them both equally. But talent wise people like Eminem, Nas, Big Pun and loads more were much better.
Fun Fact: Every kid in this video, are grown ass men and women now. Some may even have children the same age they all were in this video. Think about that for a minute!

I swear that line hits hard when you’re going through it. I was well off as a kid. But unemployments and baby momma drama really fucked me up. This song makes me smile and hopeful
Don’t worry man, u got this.
Yo...Dee....Hoping that things are picking up....I'm from south Bronx Morehouse projects...It wasn't easy but when anyone goes through rough times... sometimes due to decisions one makes...you fall...But the thing is....you don't stay down....You get back up...use it as life experience and it makes one stronger...for the next round if it comes your way... I've been through shit but I got back up..and kept steppin forward....My reasons.... myself....and family.....Paid no mind to the clowns....and stayed focused...I'm good...Easy to do bad....harder to do good but much more rewarding.....

Met this girl in addiction, she saved my life and vice versa we were inseparable went through everything you could possibly go through, for over 18 months but couldn't cut the shackles of addiction, up until recently a tragedy turned blessing happened and come to find out she's pregnant after doctors told her she couldnt have kids, now we're expecting her 1st my 4th child, shes 5 months clean im about to enter rehab ...long story short take nothing for granted, ya never know what's around the corner and never give fold
Sky is the limit
Ziggy star❤
I'm sorry you are having to separate when she needs your help with the baby. Be careful though two people fighting addiction might not necessarily be the best choice for each other. If you aren't causing each other to fall back into the habit then stay strong and focus on the future you want for your family. Best wishes.
By far the best video as far as using children to play adults ever. Sad part is though, the concept was only thought of because of Biggie's death.
+Son Goku i'll give you my energy for that genkidama shit
Indeed Goku, indeed.

DAMN
nun but facts
I am a die hard biggie fan and always when I listen to his music I can just imagine what it has been like to live in brooklyn at 80s-90s. The feeling is just so special and no other artist has ever gave me that feeling. I can't really explain it but yeah. I was born in the year of 2003 in Finland so I have literally no experience in anyway of "gang life" or anything like that and I am very saddened by the fact that I couldn't ever witness biggie live. But yeah I dont think anyone really cares about my story but I just needed to write it down as this song is so good.
If u actually read this, thank you for spending your valuable time to this
Edit 6.5.2022:
Never did I expect this comment to "blow up" and to get so many interesting replies, thank you for those. I just wanted to specify that Im not "admiring" the gang life or nun but instead extremely interested that how does it feel like to know that any second someone may come around the corner and just start shooting. Other thing is what I already mentioned earlier that I would pay any amount to just see Biggie perform live, and also I am interested to know yall's favourite biggie songs so leave them in the comments below also. My favourite is Unbelievable. The beat is so perfect and Biggie changes his flow so many times in that song, It is a masterpiece as are many other biggie songs. Whoever is reading this I hope you the best of a day!!!
From what my dad has told me its like walking home from school dodging shootouts and drug addicts just trying to get home. Then you get older and your friend picks you up in their car and once u get in u find out its stolen. Getting into a fight by 3 get home by 4 smoke an L come back out and your bike got stolen. Then u get a call that ur friend got shot. All in 1 day. So much BS
I do care about your history my man. It's inspiring for real.
yoo im from finland too and love this song
I’m interested in your story and I’m sure more people are too
yooo , obvisuly we never could live this type of life y lived more than yours asjdjsa cause I'm from chile but it doesn't matter just get the vibe and the best message of the biggies songs but Idk is fun how to see another guy from place across the pond , is living the same thing with his music (I hope you could understand everything xD didn't use google translate )

Such a horrible thing 2pac and biggie got caught up with some bad people, people that were jealous of them both and destroyed the to best rappers of the 90s we should learn from them, if you're doing really good for yourself don't let just anyone in you're circle 😎

This song just hits my soul smh. I love how they use kids to play their parts. Love it!!
Sad that it happened because of his demise
I'll say I'm a bigger fan of 2Pac than Biggie but, when it comes to something to listen to at night or by myself or just to chill and feel good...... Biggie gets the nod. This beat is a good example of the spots biggie hits on the regular that others can do but, there's just something special about his ability to cut through to the soul. Im 38 so I grew up with this era of music and just can't get into the newer stuff so I just keep listening to this stuff and that's just fine with me.
This is my favorite Biggie song
Wish Big could see it

Rap today might be dead but I will forever keep 90’s hip hop alive
No it's not. And I'm not talking about what they call Trap. I'm talking about CRMC, Tha God Fahim, Westside Gunn, Jay Nice, Lefty Lane Don, Pink Siifu, Mick Jenkins & a whole lot more of superhuman underground rap talents my phone would run out of battery life to keep typing on my keypad. Even tho I lived in a different time zone far from the US in those days, I was lucky enough to be surrounded by well-travelled adults who made me know Biggie, Tupac & the goldleaf MCs before they were a pop culture force. Remember these hip-hop legends were underground way before the 90s. And if you treat those examples I named the same way, you'd realize Rap Music will never die!
Yeah this rap nowadays is shit 90s was the best era for AFL IN AUSTRALIA BASKETBALL NBA SOCCER AND HIP HOP
People who say rap is shit today are just lazy people, there's so much great hip hop, some of it even better than the 90s period, but some people already made up their mind that it's shit and keep that same narrative whether you show them dope artists who would even smoke their favorite 90s rapper but hey 90s are great nothing else matters
@@The_African_In_Africawell first of all I listen to every era of hip hop I know there’s some talented artists today like cole, kendrick, denzel, jid, benny, joey, conway, saba, polo g but those guys just don’t compare to mc from the 90s like pac, biggie, nas, jay, snoop, dre, ice cube, dj quik, too short, warren g, bone thugs, craig mack, wu tang, tribe, mobb deep, the pharcyde, outkast, gang starr, pun, big l, DOOM, busta rhymes, mos def, krs one, dmx, common, kool g rap, jeru, camp lo, the roots, onyx, souls of mischief, das efx, coolio, group home, az, lil kim, rakim, fugees, ll cool j, canibus, naughty by nature, nwa, cypress hill, ugk, geto boys, public enemy, mase, beanie sigel the list goes on and on the rap game just not deep no more and the golden years are far behind us
@@redlobsterinc.7557 Black Thought is still releasing music today actually most of his work came out more in the 2000s than the 90s and if we comparing skills, I'm willing to put Black Thought against anybody he's had more greater moments in the 2000s and 2010s than the 90s, Royce Da 5'9 released more music in the 2010s and he still releasing today lot of rappers from that list would have a problem putting him away, I'd put him up against any rapper on there, King Los would murder majority of rappers on there with an exception of a few, Crooked I and Joell Ortiz released 2 albums this year alone and again as top tier MC I'd put them up against anybody on that list, Cambatta is arguably the greatest abstract rapper the world has ever seen to me atleast, Lupe still rocking, Homeboy Sandman is rocking, Action Bronson is silly with it, Aesop Rock has been more active in the 2010s if we comparing output, I'd put him up against any rapper, Nino Bless is still rocking, Pusha T still rocking, AB Soul is coming back, Reason is rocking, Westside Boogie still rocking, Daylyt is rapping rapping , I can go to my homeland and Talk bout the likes of Stogie T, Areece, Maglera, Priddy Ugly just Off the top of my head, I can go to UK, lots and lots of rappers making dope music if you actually looking I actually think the 90s gets overrated sometimes by old heads who will always claim their era was dope or kids who grew up on that music the nostalgia attached to it, Personally this "90s era was the golden era " schtick is annoying at this point really, it's like people who can't get over Sopranos as a great show or The Wire, or can't get over Michael Jordan who will defend him like he is playing today, But hey that's just me a 90s baby who just like 2000s hip hop
When I want to elevate my thoughts I do come here. We all gonna make it someday
