I didn't realize Kenku FM was so versatile. Syrinscape still didn't work well for me, But, tabletop audio works seamlessly. Plus I can supplement the audio with spotify or whatever site i need almost like a mixing board. This solved all my problems

I am already quite familiar with Voicemeeter, and I use Banana for basic EQs, soundboards, piping audio to different devices, and piping audio from the AUX output into a mic input,, which is why I was confused when I couldn't just do that with Kenku. Didn't realize that I had to download the virtual cables, so thanks again.

Excellent tutorial! So easy a Bear could do it. I didn't realize this technology was out there. Thanks so much for sharing. Sadly I think I have a special issue that is keeping the Bot from Sending any sound to Discord. Rebooting didn't help unfortunately. Permissions are correct. I'll keep digging to see if I can clear it up.
I found that using "Virtual Devices" causes major problems. So like Voicemeeter Banana cables, or I use SteelSeries headset, and the "Sonar" creates virtual audio devices. Don't use those, they cause major problems with Kenku and the streaming / Syrinscape. Use the real devices, let me know if this helps you, as it was my major problem recently having issues with this setup! :-) If not, either way good luck!
@@AmerisunGT Oh! Well that makes sense and gives me some direction as I am a giant consumer of Virtual audio channels. I run Elgato WaveLink for streaming and Voicemeeter to send mic audio from my streaming PC to my gaming PC. Curious how my Discord Chat would be affected using your first method. Perhaps I can run Kenku FM on my other PC that doesn't have waveLink on it.

Nice videos. I found your last, updated, video on this. After my first FGU game session this evening, went to check for the VB cable disconnect problem and made my way here. I see your are aware of the disconnect problem and mention it toward the end of video. My biggest issue is that Syrinscape Fantasy Player (not online) crashed about 3 times during our 3 hour game session. After each restart, I had to go to volume settings do the toggle between default and VB Cable. Both very annoying. I'm using the FGU extension to control sounds so the easy method of using the web player via Kenku isn't an option. I might see if the the Online player works longer before crashing.
You will find the online player has no problems, as it's web based so as long as your Chrome or Browser doesn't crash you will work fine in that scenario. It just adds a little latency to the mix. Thanks for your work on this.. I have been using your older method to link up syrinscape, and decided to try this method with Kenku FM. I am running into a problem with they syrinscape player. When I try to play via the web app within Kenku FM, it is only loading the free audio soundsets. I can't get it to load the audio files or soundsets that I have in Syrinscape. Do you have any advice on what I'm doing wrong?
This might be that inside Kenku FM browser you're not logged into Syrinscape on the right account. Go to Syrinscape.com the main page and log out / back in (while still inside Kenku FM). Because Kenku has it's own browser it does not share anything with outside browsers. Let me know if this helps!
You are awesome at making tutorials. They are simple and easy to follow. I love what this Kenku might be able to do for me... However, I am having the same issue I was having with your previous video I tried yesterday (VB Cable). Everything connects to Discord (with corrected permissions and no errors), and it looks like it is playing (box around bot is green like it is speaking), but no sound coming out of Discord. I have tried all the troubleshooting settings for the channel, and have no errors on Kenku, have tried all the sound settings on Discord and all the help pages for such, to no luck... Any more ideas?
Yeah glad you joined the discord server! Welcome! I have posted this on reddit since I also have the same issue. Curious as to why it's happening and not working. I will ping you on discord to figure out if it's new Discord / Bot problems, etc.
I used your other previous video to connect Syrinscape and DAP, and it worked great for a very long time. Just recently it stopped working. Everything seems to connect to my Discord Server, but the blue "mute" button on the DAP controller just "spins" and no sound comes through. Any idea what may have happened? Did Discord change something?
I have not used the DAP in a very long time, currently being on Kenku solution myself. But I did notice the DAP code has been updated with the latest and greatest python libraries to connect to discord. Maybe there was a breaking change, check their repo at github.com/QiCuiHub/discord-audio-pipe/releases with the latest release being 2.3 just a month ago.
Sorry, I just saw this. I don't have that audio file anymore, but I remember I probably googled MP3 royalty free rain. You'll find a lot of sites that have good stuff from that.

Would be nice to eliminate VLC however I am writing an extension that uses webhooks to run VLC media player inside FG. I posted a video over on my channel to help people. Most definitely! You can use Kenku UI to run Syrinscape web UI and run sounds through there. You can also use any sounds on the internet (radio stations, youtube, etc.) and play through Kenku UI as well.
If you launch the web player in Kenku, someone else could be running the controller in another browser / computer and send through sounds that way. It would have a little bit of latency, but that way anyone could control the sounds. Hope this helps! Good luck.
Sometimes the output will change on you, double check it. If you relaunch the application, or if you have something like Steel Series Sonar on, you don't want to use any of those audio manipulation programs / software over this otherwise it could take command of your input / outputs so be careful there!
Thought I was doing pretty well but the bot isn't playing for me. Works when I play from the computer but getting into a voice channel with it, no sound. Happening to anyone else?
@@nicolaeorengo20 Chances are some permission or something else is going on. I have a post on Reddit where I found the problem was with my Steelseries virtual audio output device, was having issues with that (not this setup). Others were able to hear, so you can try that. Usually, this has to do with permissions, one of the challenges of Discord is that the permission structure can be a serious challenge depending on how you have configured it. You should start a new discord and try it there, if it works there with a base server and one channel and basic permissions then it's your server's permission levels. If that's the problem, you have to check as to what permissions that Bot has on your server. I had a set of channels on my server for RPG'ing and no one had voice access, so my bot also had problems. Give that a shot! Hope it helps!
Not a lot to go by here, you can read a lot of the other comments, people that had issues were able to fix them with various things. You didn't exactly say what the problem is, but I hope you get it fixed!
Hi, trying to get youtube to stream through Kenku, don't need anything as complex as syrinscape. Think I followed everything correclty but the bot appears to be deafened, which I think it stopping it working. Any thoughts? Tutorial is very clear and easy to understand by the way, thanks :)
I know this was a year ago, so the chances of anyone responding are low, but I tried following the tutorial and can't get it to actually play anything in Discord. My best guess is that the permissions didn't save, but I have no idea how to save them. Cany anyone help out?
There are a few steps to try to figure out what the problem is. 1. Connect the bot to a new blank Discord server with one channel and a fresh configuration. This will ensure it's not a discord permission issue (simple server setup). If it works, profit! Then, break your brain over figuring out your permission problem on your main server. 🙂 Discord can be a pain with this. 2. If the above doesn't work, try to load up a TH-cam video inside Kenku through a web tab; if this plays fine through Discord, then if you're trying to do something feeding into Kenku, that's the problem, and you can focus on that. 3. If the above doesn't work, your Kenku might not be allowed to talk to something on the Internet. Maybe the firewall on your local PC is blocking Kenku from sending the sound. 4. After checking all that, try changing the output of Kenku to "This Computer" to see if you hear it playing sounds. Hope any of this helps with troubleshooting!

Depends on your PC honestly, if your bandwidth or your CPU is not up to snuff running Discord, Kenku and Syrinscape on top of whatever VTT you're using can be a bit much. Can you let me know which parts didn't work for you? Technology changes, and maybe some of the pages in the creation of the Bot are slightly different as Discord updates their platform. I will look to update the tutorial soon.

For anyone experiencing such, I just tried rebooting and it's working great now!
Scratch that. Back to not working. I may have forgot to mute the browser after rebooting.

I successfully fixed the problem. But the sound is very laggy on Discord :(
