Bro her approach has nothing to do with what her problem is, can you not see that she's totally topping and spinning the ball and it's not going to hook no matter what you change about her approach ..you have to fix her hand position and release. Sure if you have her stand all the way to the right, naturally the ball is going to want to go to the pocket but it's spinning like a top and does not have the proper hook action. Standing more to the right helps but not so much if you don't fix her release. Jim

Yeah that's what I noticed. Spinning the ball instead of rolling it to let the ball and core do the work and move towards the pocket. Good job coaching.

@devap1 it takes time to change but videos are the way to see what you need to adjust

Why on Earth would you prioritize lowering her ball speed over fixing that horrendous ball roll?

@SELLSHAKO it was to force her to slow down and focus on doing one thing at a time. Out of curiosity would you be interested in sending a video of you bowling so we could all see this amazing PERFECT technique that you MUST possess in order to belittle someone trying to help and educate on youtube? PS.. She bowled amazingly this past week after working on these things.. check the new video coming out tomorrow! Thanks for your comment.

I sure do LOVE an internet troll who thinks you have to have a PERFECT technique to throw a bowling ball to get a high score. Sorry to break it to whoever you are, but high scores are made by PRACTICE, CONSISTENCY, and MAKING ADJUSTMENTS WHERE NEED BE. Just ask my 221 score I bowled Tuesday night. Have a good one!!

@sellshako seems a bit rude. Everyone has a different way to roll the ball and there's no perfect way. I'm a PBA bowler with a lot of kinks in my game. I'd like to think videos like this and coaches are trying to help. Not criticize from their armchair!!!

@@veronica7896 I'm happy for you in seeing some temporary results (likely from a confidence boost lesson, more than anything else). It's a shame that you, and the author of this video are so butthurt about constructive criticism, though, and immediately jump to my personal game in reference to my expertise of the sport.
I average 225-230, bowl (and cash often) PBA regionals, and operated a pro shop in the Chicago suburbs for 10+ years. I've had numerous coaching sessions myself, including at Kegel in Florida. I never state myself to possess the perfect through, nor allude to be the best bowler on the face of the planet. BUT, I do know a thing or two about bowling, and it's a travesty that this "coach" of yours prioritized something irrelevant to the problem, rather than addressing the root to why your ball isn't hooking (I'll give you a hint - it has nothing to do with ball speed). Endless foul line and 1-step drills, focusing on hand positioning is what's needed. No amount of "slowing down" is going to just weed that problem out.
