A cool play you skipped over at 19:48 after void dies and storm goes to get the rune, Wisp agros the wave so dire creeps go under tower and die before void respawns.
if dota was a more popular game my man Banana would have the $ for a professional streamer mic. If you try to look for dota content you will see there are like 3 known youtubers, meanwhile in LoL there are tons and tons.
Love this type of content. It can be hard to think about mid matchups after a loss even when I watch my own replays, especially if they aren't common in the high mmr scene. These types of videos showing how pros approach the lane and how matchups play out is super helpful
rewatch your lanes from the enemy mid perspective and look for moments when they realized they were out of position and backed up and you didn't punish, and times obvious to them you were out of position and punished you

punching the wave at lvl 1 as ranged vs melee is good for the reasons BSJ said, no double wave etc, but its also a lot about the meta surrounding bottle and rushing it before the 2 minute mark for water runes. if you can make your opponent miss that timing and either cede both to you or just lose the two bottle charges the rune would give them, it can honestly auto-win some matchups, like this one because once ember is out of mana he is a pretty easy kill for QOP, either that or he conserves his mana but then loses out on more and more CS which snowballs the lane in radiant's favor. since water runes melee mids are super awkward to play if your CS is less than perfect.
15:44 id like to add that sumail does not ward highgroudn so quin cant draw aggro like here where he would like to, the way to play for quin is to go close to range creep that's giving vision and then draw aggro too btw
Yes, do more!! I miss this type of content, as im not super new but still i dont know why some pro players are so hailed, so this close up look is very helpful and cool to watch
I like this idea for vids BSJ. I want to see how pro tier pos 5 player's decisions and movements help their team win the game from a macro perspective please...
So the conclusion - basic stuff like denies, last hits, efficient trading and such are irrelevant in the face of ganking support, so your main objective is being impervious to ganks and setting up your opponent for a gank. Inform your support when you can kill your opponent with little help from them. Do it beforehand. Not in the moment.
6:07 "The big difference here is that sumail has 5 denies". The big difference there is bat securing the second rune for sumail :)). In my experience with qop vs ember, qop is stronger the first 3-4 levels, but then ember starts to take over the lane after. The fact that sumail had a couple extra denies at level 4 was expected, but the fact that bat came to secure the rune right as ember was about to hit that power swing really sealed the deal. Bat was the real mvp there.
Yes! Definitely looking forward to more analysis video from you BSJ! Can't stress how much I have learned Dota from watching them. Especially this kind of specific content where we get to know what are the decision made by pros.
it seems like at each tier of dota rank there are certain things that you can capitalize and punish. at the high levels coming down to literally single creep kills
Very nice Video rly enjoyed it and gets you deeper thoughts about how to win matchups and grow my own game would enjoy more of that for every role think sutch a breakdown can really make a different
The conclusion is doing 30 different fancy moves puts you a few denies ahead; a better support gives you over 1k gold lead and more mana/hp through fills than you could possibly save by playing better
Well, one situation is in your control, being a better player. the other is not so much, having a better player as a teammate. As a 2k MMR player, I almost never see a support rotating mid in my bracket, even after they die and they could have refilled bottles.
@@BenSilver10 Nobody's claiming otherwise, but making a video titled "how sumail crushed mid" and spending 10 mins talking about microplays while spending only 15 seconds on the actual reason he crushed mid (the bat gank) boy does that feel silly.
1 thing I wish there was in dota is a 1v1 league or a 2v2 for lanes. where individual skill matters way more. obviously sum was wining with the rat boy but the gank cemented the lane. I wish ive seen how this lane goes without the gank. a 1v1 pro league or even a 1v1 pub match making would be really cool.
I've been hearing that Miracle has come back from his break and has been just as good as he was before. Wouldn't mind a break down of his game play. :)
Great content per usual. But I think your compressor/noise cancelation could use some tweaking, it's a little noisy everytime you speak. compared to yesterdays video (how to support like an immortal) which was perfect.
first game suma1l def got the edge cause of his team, i mean 5 denies is ok but really in 2-3 waves they can be even if boboka doesn't rotate, there's no gaurantee he keeps snowballing. Boboka first secured a kill on quinn then they secure the 6 minute rune and another kill for sumail, finally they secure yet another kill on quinn at 8 miunutes when he's already behind, so i really think its an exageration to say the difference in the lane is the 5 denies sumail has over quinn xD . Second game wasn't as drastic in terms of help but again hand boboka not came in quinn would probably start coming back in the lane and not die.
Given Quinn is quiet Chad, getting that creep at 19:45 could have been his best play. He did not know if IO stayed mid or not. He took what seemed like a beneficial trade/fight until IO from the bot side came back. His options were then, to run straight back to the fountain losing 4 creeps that were there + the next wave, or get that one last hit, die, and come back with full resources for the next wave.
"Difference in this lane came largely down to denies" - what? Are we watching a different replay? The difference in this lane largely came down to bat ganking ember and giving qop double rune? I don't think 5 denies did anything compared to that.
?? Mgod lost first game and his lane disgustingly. Like sumail just destroyed him in the lane. Second game sumail lost the game cos snap mid to late game compared a vs is no match. In lane it was pretty even with a slight cs edge on sumail. Sumail is definitely the better laner.
To be honest, I think you're overselling the first game a lot. Yes, QOP build a slight lead for herself which is expected in my opinion. But what made the difference is the 4 rotations she got by min 7 compared to just 1 for Quinn (who even fed a kill). I appreciate the talk about the mechanics, but neither midlaner played significally better than the other. Sumail just had a ton more ressources put into his lane.
0:09 Handsome Squidward vs 0:15 Giga Chad
Lol
This kind of content is amazing! Please do more on other positions as well 🙏🏻
Yes, pos 4 or 5 this would be sick

Laptop mic moment
S-tier video. S-tier analysis. I like how it's speaking in specifics but very applicable to general matchups.

In both games, boboka comes right before the 4 min rune to secure an advantage for sumail. Amazing synergy between them always
Great video thanks BSJ. Walking through the thought process and reasoning for it is very useful

Fantastic video. Would love more pos 2 content
Loved this BSJ! Ty buddy!
Boboka won the lane 2 times xD
bsj do some more, these are very informative and they do help us
I thought my speaker was broken lol.
There’s some weird static on your microphone audio
Quinn fucking destroyed sumaiil brat there, there is one or at least two heroes from sumail's team coming to mid all the time, GOAT QUINN.
Really good vid man, will watch if U make more 👍
I like the content. Your mic seems to be making some background sound and it makes the vid a bit harder to watch.

Yeah, we need miracle. His invoker play vs sumail snapfire was so dope. Do it please 🙏🙏🙏
Can you do carry analysis like this as well?
Yo BSJ, there sounds like there's a mic issue. There's stattic and clipping in your audio. Pls fix it!
Good stuff. Would love more videos like this
More of this, please... It's really great
Just an out of topic question: Does Arcana progress go up when winning pro games?
Please do an analysis for Pos 4 and pos 5 games too.
Sumail is somewhat out of his prime but he still manage to dominate his lanes in most of the game.
Great content per usual. But I think your compressor/noise cancelation could use some tweaking, it's a little noisy everytime you speak. compared to yesterdays video (how to support like an immortal) which was perfect.
He's at Dream League's panel, so this video is prolly made from hotel room. Usually the mic is good.
Great content, super insightful
They kill the creeps mid fast to get to lvl 2 faster. Well that why I do it back then. Lvl 2 vs a lvl 1 that's a hell of an advantage.
3:00 or he is just waiting to see if ember takes root spell.
I didn't know Dota was this deep.
off topic but Sumail now looks like a gigachad compared to Quinn who still looks like a teen girl.

King > Quinn
King vs Queen* 😂
I think Quin had those two sleight-of-fist securing creep because he thinks his sleight-of-fist is lv1 and its CD is not short.
Comment on the same games but the other roles from teammates and how they were performing
This is not BSJ its SgtSizzles
aged well
great content!
Enjoy the content sir, but please do something about the audio quality - background static/interference is rough.
The audio is a little fucked?
sumail vs miracle next please
"Difference in this lane came largely down to denies" - what? Are we watching a different replay? The difference in this lane largely came down to bat ganking ember and giving qop double rune? I don't think 5 denies did anything compared to that.
Good stuff!
audio quality man
Waiting for miracle videos thanks
