I never realized this, but Dave is huge. If Marty and Moog are right around 6'1, he's like 6'4. Is everyone who works at Haltech just an ex NBL player no one remembers or something?
Marty & Moog, hope you read this! I’ve owned my 240Z for almost 8 years now and have slowly been doing my own RB26 conversion. Due to the value of these cars/engines it’s taken me over 6 years now and this build has been such inspiration. I went with the same full T3 kit beneath the car that you have and couldn’t be happier. Just over 12 months ago I had the RB26 fully rebuilt and decided to do a number of things differently to your first build and funnily enough all the changes you’re doing are exactly what I’ve done! It makes me super excited to think I’ve got such an amazing pile of parts in the garage ready to be completed and this series really gives me motivation to get on and complete mine. I’ve also just hung one of the signed 240 posters in the garage beside mine and it looks great. Thanks for all that you do, keep up the good work and can’t wait to see this finished.
Every time I hear turbo flutter like that I can't help picture Marty's skits pretending to drive a turbo car with all the braaap and all the stu-tu-tu.
They really nailed it with the design of the 240Z. 55 years on every time I see the 3/4 quarter rear view I still think wow! Thoroughly deserving of your modernisation.
Those funny moments have always been one of the biggest reasons I’m a huge fan. So much useful information that’s so lighthearted it’s like magic the chemistry between Marty and Moog.
oh Marty......you have me in stitches :) the way you blokes know each other so well, and are so clever with the cameras, and can just play up to it. love it.
Nah they're normal height. MCM has a maximum height for employees of 5'5". Marty and Moog are like Tom Cruise but without the platform shoes and alien volcano god.
@@theParticleGoddunno if you're joking. I'm 5'10" and I first met Marty and Moog over 10 years ago (you can see me in one of their videos at the time). They both towered over me. So Dave is pretty bloody tall
@@misledpoetthey’ve mentioned in a video that people expect them to be shorter, but they are around 185cm tall (like 6 or 6’1). The halltech guys are just probably around 190cm tall at least
It’s amazing how much information you guys can get across so efficiently. This whole series was a literal educational program showcasing how technology has changed in the industry. Mind gripping layout which keeps you entertained and informed. I can see these videos being watched for decades to come
I want turbo noises like that sooo freaking bad. Man that compressor is straight up talking to you, serenading your right foot. Love it. Sucks to be German
You could probably get most of this setup TüV approved. But I bet you’d have to use a coded welder, present TüV with a load of calculations, and TüV certs for the turbo/injectors/a sport cat, and have the emissions go through some kind of extra tests afterwards.
@@Jonathan_Doe_ More than 40% power increase over the strongest stock version of a chassis means the chassis loses it's certification and needs to be put through a long term stress test on a closed track. 100k Km plus extremely thorough engineering tests iirc. It's just not viable if you're not a company. Hundreds and hundreds of thousands just for stamps and papers. We need TÜV certifications for intake pipes, even if they're the same diameter as stock, and even if the air box is still stock. It's just laughable.
Hearing that boost again takes me back 15 years ago to my skylines and silvias. God that was a fun period of my life. The sheer joy of going on a late night drive and just hopping in the thing generally.
MCM always only has relevant sponsors, love that. The Quad Lock products are great, I have their phone case which fits unbelievably snugly, so it will never fall off, their bike mount, and their car mount.
Another great episode guys. I noticed that the Potenza RE003's are now 7 years old & past their life span even though they look like they've never been driven on, so I'm hoping next episode's mods will include new tyres. Keep up the great work.
The banter and the humor from you all is legendary. It's one of the reasons I subscribed all those years ago and continue to enjoy watching you make mad swaps/mods and so much more. Never change.
I love this thing. My version is a 1986 Mustang LX coupe with all 1988 Mustang GT guts underneath, with heads, cam, intake and Holley Terminator X SEFI. Pulled both vehicles out of a wrecker and made 1 decent car out of it.
Watched this video four times, today. First time for the piece of art as a whole. Rest, to enjoy the music. I would pay, to watch a MCM building music compilation. Should be hours long and would take us on an epic journey. Dear Santa....
Dude, that exhaust build section was super satisfying. Love it, please keep highlighting his work. And Marty? You've always been my favorite and that bit was hilarious.
That Nissan 240Z FairladyZ looks Beautiful it sounds fantastic with the Turbo it goes really RB26 Engine Good job Chris Put on New exhaust Well Done Moog and Dave Work it 👏👏👏
That turbo sounds EXACTLY like a friend of mine from high school had. He had a 240Z with a 280ZX Turbo engine, and I believe the turbo was custom because his family ran a performance modification business. Thanks for the memories.
Lovely watching Chris again. Don't remember the last time he was in the show. It's great to see all the OPs back from time to time, to see they are doing fine.
Insane to me that I've been watching you guys for about half my life now. I remember watching the "How to Turbo" series over a decade ago and having it all go completely over my head. Wild to think about that now as I watch this video on my tuning laptop while checking out launch control settings for my own turbo MX5. You guys and everyone you feature are legends and I appreciate all you've done for me and many others who have wanted to start wrenching. Cheers mates!
You've transported this already excellent car in the modern world with good performances and technologies but without make it ridiculous. It’s a functioning beauty that I only dream to drive. On the side note, I rewind the video a little bit jus to hear the turbo noises.
Best part of that new Star War game is the little speeder bike makes dose noises exactly like this beautiful beast. TSUU DODODODO Wish I could get my swift to make those noises, she just goes ffsss.
This and the S13 are my favourite builds. The level of this build is amazing. Not over the top and just the right amount of tech to bring this nugget to "the today". I love the chemistry of all the team. Only thing I wish Moog did is to install the spark plug cover of the RB, but not saying Nissan Skyline GT-R. Customize it to say Nissan 240 GT-RZ. My GAWD.
I’ve never been that educated when it comes to cars and engines, but your videos really inspire me to learn how to install certain things. Since I live in Germany I’m kind of restricted in terms of modifications even though I would love to work on my RAV4 from 2005
I've been a fan for years, actually first found you on the roadkill vs mightycarmods video. Just gotta say I love your work and I think this car is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen.
You gentlemen inspire a lot of VW modifications & the TUV video in Germany caused me to buy a 2-door MK4 GTI and start a channel! Thank you! if Amazon continues The Grand Tour with new hosts...I HOPE they ask you two to be a part of it. That show needs to continue and Mighty Car Mods could be the answer - yes? Cheers!

what is the song at 7 mins, with Mark Agustin. Would love to have it.

Yummy ❤❤
give-away the dosatron?
i don't get paid till the 21st, so I'm hoping it's still up by then
Marty saying "Not again! F**k me!" made me laugh way too hard! 🤣🤣
It's the throwing the rags at mog did it for me.
He's getting pretty handy with those shop rags.
I hope this is scripted. I feel so bad for the guy!!!!
I saw it coming from a mile away, but it still made me actually laugh out loud.
Poor Marty, he's going full on disrespected 😂
Next episode will be Moog's best friend Scotty from haltech 😂
Disrespected Marty: Part 3

That montage of exhaust fabrication is absolute art. Mad respect for the amount of skill involved. Pure perfection.
Some ASMR sh** right there!
I came here to say the same thing.... My word, a true master at work.

Marty scooting around like a petty child was the best part of this vid :D

absolutely! his little tantrums are hilarious! the shop towels haha
Chopped him good. Until I got chopped by the tubs.

What turbo are you running and how much lag does it have? I'm in a rb26 swap too, but in a S chassis
That turbo dose is just *chefs kiss* ... absolute madness.
Every time I hear turbo flutter like that I can't help picture Marty's skits pretending to drive a turbo car with all the braaap and all the stu-tu-tu.

Needs a stainless steel intake imo. I have the exact same turbo on my 1J with a 3.5" SS intake, sounds wayy better
