@@spruce1509 I saw Scotty one day at Time Attack at Sydney Motorsport Park. I got butterflies and felt like I just saw a celebrity. He is also a very tall dude.
I really enjoyed his technical talk this episode, talking us through what he is doing in an easier to understand way for the average car guy. Not giving the pros a lesson on how to tune, but giving us avg. car owners better understanding of what the tech does and what our own tuners may be doing.
This Haltech bloke is the real deal. Power under the curve instead of chasing a peak number all day. AND never thought how important that first 100KW is. You want a car that acts and drives like stock. No weird issues or unwanted behaviour.
Someone should invent a device, like some sort of box that contains gears or something. This would allow for you to change the ratio of engine speed to wheel speed and put you further up the curve. I’m sure someone is working on it. Seriously though, does everyone just dawdle around at 40kph in 4th all the time? I hate cars that have weak top end and all bottom end. They are “better” but much less fun.
100% it was the bolt clearance after removing the timing cover and then bolting the CAS back on. You need to space the CAS out to simulate the timing cover is still fitted. The CAS bolts just hit the cam gear bolts because the cover thickness has been removed. You will see metal swarf evidence.

It's impossible not to love Scotty. So well versed, good mannered, giving credit where it's due to other people and/or brands, and so so SO clever. The kind of dude I'd love to share a beer and a shop bbq with.
I remember when the Datsun 240Z came to the U.S. in the early 70's. I wanted one then but was only a kid and didn't have any money. Wish I could have gotten one, it's still probably my favorite car ever. That is so nice!
Obviously Scotty knows his shit so well, but I think the best part about having him on these shows is how well he articulates and explains what’s going on. True passion from the bloke.
Man, I remember watching the original build series all those years ago and instantly falling in love with this channel. You two have been an inspiration to me since the day I first watched you and watching these past few episodes have really reminded me how special this car is, as well as how special this channel is. There really isn't another car or another channel that makes me love cars quite like this.

Scotty really loves this car. It shows how much he enjoys Moog's company. I just love this TH-cam car community lately, Truly feels like a family we never had before during TV era. Thanks boys.
So glad the dyno disaster wasn't as bad as it could be. The 240 Z is too nice to have it blow up. Modern turbo tech has come so far now, it's so awesome that you can put on a smaller turbo and still make the same or more top end power as you did before, especially with how much more you are getting so much earlier. What a great build. I hope she brings you many years of refined driving pleasure. She's a helluva nice ride. Be proud of what you have made everyone, it was totally worth it.

As someone who loves cars but has no idea about the nitty gritty about the tuning side, having someone like scotty in these videos explaining things in such an easily accessible manner is such a godsend! Makes it soo much easier to understand! An absolute pleasure to watch you guys as always 🙌🤙
about that noise: I had a similar experience after a basic oil change. Started the car and my heart dropped as I heard "tack-tack-tack" proportional to rpm. Stopped, started again, same thing. Checked oil, all was good... Then I noticed I had a small speck of junk on my aux belt, might have been a small piece of paper towel or whatever. Cleaned it off. Started, no noise. So might have been the same thing here and when Scotty revved it a little it just flew off or got squished or whatever, never to come back again.
Soon as I seen the wheels the video got a huge thumbs up form me. Gave me chills seeing them. Great video as always form you guys. Big Love from the US!!!!!!!!!

The genuine Watanabe's are truly icing on the cake on this one. Brought tears to my eyes ❤
But the clickbaity "dyno disaster" title and thumbnail on this one is unnecessary though we love you guys the way you are 😂❤
Let's be honest here... we are all waiting for Moog to get his jdm toyota supra so he can finally race that rx7!
It feels like years ago when they eluded to Moogs Supra sitting on the hill in the background (I wonder if it really was his, or just a sh*t steer)
Beautiful. loved hearing some notes from See you at the end too, almost made me tear up seeing the finished car with that song.
I started with mod max and the “shoe rule” I remember mrs daisy was a masterpiece
The third time they pull that "best friend" skit stunt, he'll actually be talking about Marty, but half the viewers will get tricked. 🙂
...and there was I, thinking "he's not gonna do it again" then bang!
this was the third time 😂
Getting old at this point

My favorite build you guys have done! absolutely beautiful, im a huge nissan guy and i have to say that car is prefect!! I love your show you guys!!
You guys should do a POV drive video with this car, actually you guys should do that with some other cars too.
I was worried when the noise started. Now all looks well great job guys. Love the show you put on thanks
2:40 Yo that track!!!
This! What’s going on there! More!
Great work guys and those wheels were just the cherry on top. I'm really happy nothing blew up as the title suggested.
“I genuinely could call it a day, but I’m interested to see what it can do”… 😂
Just the Fork I was hoping to see today!
You could fit a whole other car in that space between the dyno graphs of before/after, it's astounding.
I would like to see a black line along the bottom rocker panel.I think that would make it really look good
I agree!!
Wow a real car build you boys are gonna rise to the top lmao keep up the hard work.
