I keep checking for new videos! 😂 I don't read blogs, but do enjoy your You Tube videos. I especially like to see you using your scraps. Thats what I've been trying to do lately. Keep them coming, please! ❤

Thanks for this video. My Aunt made a quilt years ago from some of my Uncle's shirts after he died, and she found it to be a great comfort to have them become something she could use all the time.

When he passed away last year, I collected many of the shirts my beloved friend wore. I have cut those up and will use them to make a quilt. Just waiting for a pattern to inspire me. I wish now that I had kept ALL the 100% cotton shirts he had.
Great tips about matching stripes or plaids. Thanks for your inspiration and so many tips to make our quilting easier and more productive.

Boy did I get a surprise. I got some quilting magazines at the thrift store and was looking through them. And what to my wondering eyes appeared (in the Feb 22 American Patchwork and Quilting issue), but a quilt by you and Kellie! It was quite the beauty and a great replica of the vintage quilt that you showed with it.

I have made one quilt top using men's shirts. In our area the shirts are mostly plaid. My concern was that the 100% cotton seemed much thinner than other fabrics. Your thoughts on this? (My best thrift store find was 4 shirts for $2. And I bought a 5x for little to nothing that has a HUGE amount of fabric to use.)

As I said in the video, I have a 100% cotton shirt quilt that has been with our family for 10 years. It has gotten the worst kind of wear and it's still doing great.

Beautiful quilts. If you do your research on quilts you will find all quilts was made from old clothing. No one could afford fabric to make a quilt. I have quilts my grandmother made and they’re over 90 years old and we use a couple of them and I have mend some of them and we still use them . But I have some we have never used and they’re still beautiful. So use shirts aren’t a new thing it’s the older way to make quilts. I’m going to get the book and make some quilts for shirts I use old sheets all the time on the back of my quilts. Thank you for sharing and taking me back to the good old days of making quilts. God bless you and your family I love your videos.

I found a 6X one time for $1.49. I always look thru the racks for the largest cotton shirts.

So beautiful quilts so what do you do as far as sleeves you cut strips and back you cut squares ? Or you do what ever I love the scrappy idea to have them cut to have on hand

Love your videos! In your kitchen, your sewing room, your dining room, with dogs in the background, maybe some grandkids. Looks like real life to me! Your quilts made from shirts are beautiful. To me, the value of a quilt is measured in how much it's used.
