Reverse Story. I was an Sergeant in the Army Ordnance Corps and was asked why I was at an International Military Medical Conference. My response was, "I have an interest in the field". They were rather surprised when the Surgeon General called me by my first name and told me to stop taking the piss out of the Colonel. Seems I was a Presenter and was then told to put my Nametag on. Lowest rank there but got to eat all the best food and a seat at the second top table.

Couple weeks ago, there was a gastronomic event in my city. Regular people must pay 5 euros to get in. All of a sudden, i see a school bus and kids with my old school's uniform start pouring out along with teachers that taught me. I aproached them to say hi. An old teacher of mine looked at me deaad in the eye and i knew that she was up to no good. I got to be a teacher for a couple hours and a free pass to the gastronomic event. LMAO

During a fan funded HP spinoff type movie film shoot in Cleveland, we had stopped for a lunch break and a random (homeless) guy had hopped in toward the end of the food line to get some pizza. He actually hung around a bit to chat and when the director called everyone back to start filming again, the random guy just wandered off into the nearby park. Was odd but couldn't blame him for seizing the opportunity for free food.

In college I used this to my advantage playing HvZ (Humans Versus Zombies, basically tag but the human team can "stun" zombies with Nerf guns and change teams if they're tagged.) We used bandanas to signal which team we were on and even though mine was very bright orange, I'd walk into groups of humans and no one would realize I was on the zombie team until I tagged someone.
I also nearly got roped into a few freshmen events at my college because I look very young, but I'm 30+ and postbacc.

I guess that's what I did, unintentionally, back in the early sixties. I had been working for a short time for the Pulitzer Prize winning Watsonville Register-Pajaronian. On my day off I drove to San Jose to see the new San Jose Mercury newspaper building. It was an impressive building. I had my camera on a strap around my neck and wandered through the newsroom and into the press room where I watched the flying pasters splice the end of one newsprint roll to a fresh roll, the newsprint storage room, the circulation mailroom. I was never questioned or challenged.

Oh gosh 😹 I work with preschoolers at an elementary school. It's the funniest thing if one of the students accidentally sit at the wrong lunch table (with older kids) in the cafeteria. They either:
A} straighten their back and try to look like A Big Kid
B} Don't give a damn because they just wanna eat their lunch and it's an open seat
The older kids are super chill with the unexpected guest 😌

Also, I wonder how their text to speech bot is programmed, like original purpose, to read FOB as abbreviated Freon Board instead of just saying the letters? Like was it designed by someone who makes air conditioners?

I didn't have a physical UHSAA media pass to go to the State Semi-Final championship game for my high school, so I told my situation to the guy letting me onto the sideline. He uneasily let me on. I just pretended like I belonged and got to hang out with the team on the sideline of Rice-Eccles Stadium.

I used to work at T.J. Maxx. A couple years later I was shopping there and the coffee I’d had earlier went right through me. I wondered if the the code to the restrooms and break room were unchanged from when I worked there. I tried it and I walked in and used the restroom. I then went into my old break room. One of my former fellow co-workers was there and we caught up on what we’d been doing the last two years. I was lucky none of the managers came back there!

A few times - my brother worked sports tv. I happened to be in Florida while he was working an event at Disney World. Since he was going to be in a tv truck all day, I borrowed his pass, took a Disney employee bus, and entered Disney Hollywood Studios through the employee entrance. I got to spend the day hitting all the rides. Other times, during NBA games, I've borrowed his pass and walked down to the floor, to watch pre-game activities. Hang out with the cheerleaders, etc. When I worked for the Navy as a civilian, in college, another brother, who was a Naval officer, got me into an A6 flight simulator, to try some night carrier landings. An admiral showed up and wanted to see it in action, so I got a few extra landing attempts. And, I suppose, lastly, I went to Edwards to watch a Space Shuttle landing (I think Colombia). I had written earlier and got a car pass. When my brother and I drove in, we got waved into the wrong location - not sure why. So, instead of being far away, we ended up on the flight line. Excellent location for watching a Shuttle landing. (The only other landing I saw there ended with Atlantis flying directly over my head, as it heading to a landing off in the distance)

If you travel into or through London first class, if train staff/ticket collectors come by, they don't seem to bother you much if you're in smart clothes/a suit. Worked for me every time. When I last did that in October, I was coming back from Comic-con.

I was waiting for my bus home in a building near the bus stop at my university to escape from the heat outside and I noticed a large group of students and some cupcakes. Soon a speaker came out and it seemed like the cupcakes would be available after she was done. So I set an alarm on my phone for when I’d have to go to the bus, wrote a fake name on a name tag, and pretended to be a nursing student for like 15 minutes when they finally opened the cupcakes. Then I just grabbed a cupcake, grabbed my stuff, and walked out to my bus LOL

I get imposter syndrome too. Like, I'm good at my job, but I did a different field of work for so long it feels wrong.
I also once accidentally snuck into a rich horseman celebration. A vender at a random rodeo we wandered into invited us not knowing we were not part of the horse club.
Also, the Star Wars line probably just assumed OP was a helper

I work as an E-commerce recruiter then later became a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) talent partner but the thing is I never had the degree or even the experience related to this job, I even had no idea what I'm supposed to do when I got hired. Despite that I've been working here for almost three years now, got two commendations and last August I got a 100% pay raise. So now I just do my job even though I have no idea what I'm doing half the time.

Me and my brother were once caught trespassing by the owners of an abandoned building, so we ran, but we couldn’t leave because we left our bikes towards the front of the driveway and they were standing next to them, we debated whether or not to leave our bikes and make a run for it but decided against it because I had an expensive ($500+) camera in my bag that was still attached to my bike, so we waited for an hour and I decided to take my brothers shorts and take my shirts and jeans off so that I looked like a jogger and I ran past them to see if they had left (they hadn’t) I waved at them and the police that showed up and looped around told my brother that they were still there with the cops and we got found. :( I came so close to getting away with it but apparently they thought it was odd that I ran down a dead end road and didn’t come back (they were very close with their neighbors.) 😢

During a nice and warm summer evening me and an ex girlfriend had just seen a movie at a cinema. We were planning on going to a local bar before heading home. We stopped and discussed which bar to choose when a group of young women walked past us and showed a bouncer some sort of invite. The sign next to the club they entered said something like "Young Entrepreneurs Party - OPEN BAR". When another group of people shortly after walked past us, I told my partner to follow my lead. I started jogging with her in tow right after the second group just had entered before us and said we were with them. The bouncer let us in an we had the time of our lives. Turns out we crashed a business relations party for young business owners and their personal friends where people only came to mingle, dance and have fun. We had plenty of drinks and delicious finger foods until 1 am before we left. I don't regret anything about that night.

We found out they were doing a large meet and great for a new grocery store wanting to open on the island. The Hilton was packed with venders giving away mostly alcohol and some food. Best drinks I had on the island

My junior year at a small Christian university, I went to the league outdoor track and field championship. It was at a nearby Christian university. I saw my university's tent from the parking lot on the other side of a gap in the fence. In my autistic obliviousness, I decided to go through the athletic entrance. It helped I knew several of my university's athletes and the coach. I could have gotten away with it if I wasn't a goody to shoes. (I don't know how to spell it, sue me.)

I walked into the State Society's Cherry Blossom Festival event thing because they were GIVING AWAY FREE 22OZ SAPPORO BEER CAN TOT BAGS! They were honoring that soldier guy from the Superbowl or he was going to be on the Superbowl after the event. Forgive me I don't watch sports or military stuff. At the time I had cornrows & a suit & vest in black & white. All the White people must have thought I was a servant because a bunch of them gave me their gift tot bags to I guess put away for them Lol. The food was elite, the chair cushions were like foam or something, & the lighting was set on shimmer because every woman's dress was shimmering Lol. As the event was winding down I stood up & clapped, got in line to shake the man's hand (which shocked the lady beside me in line for some reason), & I took the 10 tot bags the white folks had given me plus my own & walked out the guests door up the steps (away from the under ground garage) to the bus stop & a obviously fancy car drove by me. I felt like I cut out early from the eye's wide shut party before the sex happened LMAO. I had so many beers it was insane!!!

In Vegas, I wanted to go dance at a nice club. I was behind a group of 6 hot Girls in cute dress. I'm also a girl, but 30 and wearing nice jeans and a cute top and about 50 lbs overweight. I do have a pretty face, but not a hot girl. The bouncer assumed I was part of their group, so gave me a cring look, but still let me in. Maybe it was the jeans he didn't like, but I knew I'd have been turned down if I hadn't pretended to be with the other girls. Then I had a great time dancing and didn't have to pay a fee or anything 🙃
