I was struggling with my asthma one night while driving. Luckily I had my inhaler in my console, so it was easy to get out at the next red light. Immediately after the red light, as I’m using the inhaler, lights go off behind me. I didn’t run the light. I didn’t have time to speed. I was perplexed as to what I was being pulled over for. Cop stomps over to my window and right away has an attitude. He yelled, “What the HELL do you think you’re doing?!” I was kinda ticked he was talking to me this way, so without thinking, I held up my inhaler and snapped “having an asthma attack!” Cop suddenly deflates. He just says, “oh. Oh!” Shines his light around the inside of my car real quick, then says “uh, have a good night, miss” and sprints back to his car and takes off. I was bewildered until I got home and explained the whole thing to my boyfriend. He laughed and said “the idiot thought he caught you smoking a pipe and instead he was about to arrest you for having asthma!”
The freak-out some cops have if they see you have a concealed permit is ridiculous. I got pulled over for speeding and while handing my license to the officer, they saw the permit in my wallet.
