Once my freind purchased a human skull in south Africa while on mission work, he got detained at the airport for days 😂
Airport security is kind of like the cops...they never think it's as funny as you do.
How did it end?
@@KitsuneGB-hc9zb it was taken off him before he reached Britain 😂
Omg🤣 I'd hate to be him if it turned out that it was a historical artifact/fossil. That's hilarious though makes you wonder and question "what person just says ya know what? Ima buy this human skull AND take it on my international flight" and thinks it's a bright idea🤣
@@joeynorris3978 I think it was a modern day human, plus he payed roughly the equivalent of £200 for it in a village 😂 he's not the brightest spark
2:30 Reminder in the US weapons such as RPGs are not illegal just highly regulated. So technically the woman's husband could have possessed it legally and she might be able to have gotten it legally transferred to her but even if she did she wouldn't have been able to just gift it someone like you would be able to with a rifle or shotgun
A short barreled rifle or suppressor is one thing. But I believe a destructive device license is $25K, plus the same whenever it is renewed. Not something an average collector would have.
@@christopherconard2831 not to mention that if the rockets themselves were live (as in explosive, not just an inert solid lump of metal), each one would also have to be registered individually as "destructive devices" and stored in specific manner.
also there are other types of weapons lumped in under the label of "destructive device", not just rocket and grenade launchers, also under there are shotguns that were deemed to have no "sporting use" such as the famous armsel striker-12 "street sweeper", and francini SPAS-12.
An rpg tube itself is legal, but you can’t have rockets for it
@@christopherconard2831 $200 (tax stamp) actually and a long wait from the BATFE for the background check. Live RPG and EACH rocket would be the same. They would also hit you with needing an explosive storage locker for the items, but even the license for making your own explosives legally are only about $6-7k last time I checked. Probably some other incidental fees too, Ordnance Labs has a whole video on what is required legally and him getting a frag grenade through the process.
Imagine breaking into an old lady's house to see an RPG-7 pointed at you, with her kindly explaining that her dead husband gave it to her as an anniversary gift
2:39 The old guy probably had licenses for all of his stuff but it wasn't handled right when he passed.
I used to work at a second hand store. Once someone accidentally donated a gun
Was it hiding in the clothes they donated or something? How do you accidentally donate a gun?
they trying to click on 'old shirt' but scrolled down in their inventory too far.
Lost in Inventory... lulz
@@motherlessgoat72 they were sorting out things and ended up tossing the gun into the donate box. It was unloaded with no bullet in the chamber. We called the non emergency line and put the gun in the safe. Since where I lived required all firearms to be registered, the cops had an easy time looking up the owner. Said owners came back after a call by the cops and they were embarrassed by the mishap. Thankfully it was a fully registered firearm in their name
I wish people would accidentally donate their guns to me
I remember my father picking me up some cheep coin collecting magazine and noticing a very interesting item for sale. Apparently they were selling a genuine printing press plate piece for making a dollar bill. I thought that was interesting but harmless. Years later I found out that was very illegal to be selling as it's a literal piece to make counterfeit bills. At least where I'm from unless it was a gage piece similar to those million dollar bills. But I distinctly remember the main selling point in the advertisement was that it was actually from the place in Philadelphia that the government tasks to print legal tender.
Cheep
"Rednecks wouldn't let it go to the feds." That's solid logic, actually.
Working in a second hand/pawn shop a guy buys a bbq grill. he was with several friends and then being a bit of a joker asked if we had any hotdogs for the grill. I then looked him right in the eyes and said “do you really want used hotdogs?”
18:08 within like 5 seconds I knew this dude was fucking with a giant UXO. Especially with age, anything can set a UXO off, even slight temperature changes. But in all honesty, if it didn't kill them in this story then it likely never would. Unless they decided to put some C4 on it and detonate it while they stand right next to it, lol.
Or maybe if he had decided to use his blowtorch on it...
Same lol, I was kinda concerned and wondering how the fuck he didn't know it was a HE artillery projectile xD
"I'm not a pawn shop owner, but my sister's boyfriend's second cousin twice removed used to live next to a pawn shop, and...." Is all of Reddit like this? People who were not asked the question replying to it?
At least 2-3 per post. A lot of people have related (Or they think is related) stories.
Yes. 90% of the time they’re just plain lying, the other 10% exaggerate
Yes. Believe it or not but incentivising people to go on the internet and tell lies with a point and trophy system isn't going to create an accurate picture of reality
The amount of people who try to pawn literal bits of garbage and damaged goods at GAMESTOP is disgusting! If you want to trade in your systems please, PLEASE clean then up first! I've seen little bugs crawl out of XBox vents and chewed gum in the HDMI port of a PS4...
Funny, my Gamestop experience selling used items usually goes like so...
Me: Hey I'd like to sell my used but pristine copy of this game I can see you are selling used copies without jacket or manual for $49.50 on that shelf over there. Can I get $25-30 for it?
Gamestop: Best I can do is $7 store credit or $3.50 cash.
@@sayance8219 yeah, was about say that their first mistake was going to gamestop to sell anything, they are known to rip people off, you'd probably get more just selling it at a yard sale than gamestop.
One of the HDMI ports on a TV I bought from a pawn shop was completely bashed in.
That first story made me laugh harder than it should; simply because "goggles" was misspelled and the narrator saying "googles" over and over just tickled me 😁
I noticed that too... "night vision googles." For when you have to look up something on the internet in the dark...
Not a pawn shop but a radio repair shop. A customer came in and requested a CB radio repair. When the tech opened the radio, there was a note inside that read, "If brought in for repair, please call police and (insert phone number) collect." The tech called and the owner got his radio back. Turns out the owner wired the extension speaker socket in the back with a plug tied to the dash board. When the CB is pulled out of the car, the plug gets pulled and the radio won't work. If the owner brought it in for repair, he would remove the note first.
Only story I've seen that didnt reek of crap. Seems like a pretty smart driver tbh.
That's pretty clever. And really easy to do.
'When I look back at how we could have become red mist at any time'.
In Canada that's what we call a rich childhood.
LMAOO, the very popular chain "Top Dollar Pawn" owners here in Colorado Springs just got busted earlier this year for accepting stolen tools and what not from customers, they became millionaires off doing just that. Husband and wife got busted, son was always there as the manager i believe, didnt do anything to the son but threw the parents in jail quick as hell. 😒🤦🏾♀️ My Xbox was in there. Still havent been able to get it. Smh
That story about the old lady with live RPGs is wild. Those are actually very hard to find for people with permits and are able to legally own them.
Couple came in with a collection of very used pot pipes and bongs . They need to sell for rent money . A big nope not interested key tears . Customer says well if you didn’t waste your money on weed you could play your bills . 😂
Man why can't I get paid in rpg-7's
Holy shit that dude with the artillery shell...goddamn
14:50 not sure what the tape was about, but depending on the state, any shotgun can be a sawed off even if it was never cut if the barrel is shorter than the state or city allows.
Federally the law is 18" for shotguns 16" for rifle. You cant go lower than 18". You can go from a 22" to an 18" but never less unless you pay a $200 tax stamp and register it as a Short barreled shotgun.
1:35 "that's someone with no fear" uhhh, obviously, if he's the one that stole those things from the drill center then of course he has no fear
Actually cowards by nature are fearful people..
What you think they sit back and relax and not worry that the people they stole from will come back for retribution? Cmon people its dog eat dog
At least fight for your win
All these shops buying stolen merchandise, shifty back door deals, ect...In the few months I worked as a pawnbroker my boss wouldn't let me take in a high end set of grow lights because "people use those to grow weed". She did, however, approve multiple purchases of counterfeit purses and shoes. Yes, shoes. Not heels, nikes. My store had an entire display of nikes in size 9-10 from one guy, and just before I left they were discovering that the shoe guy was selling counterfeit sneakers to all the pawn shops in the area, getting top dollar because he was a trusted seller.
Back in the '90s my apartment was ransacked and one of the missing items, a pocket TV, showed up in a local pawn shop (serial number reported to police and matched mine). The police sent a detective with a gun on his hip and missing teeth to my place of work (totally freaking out the security people) and told me I could go to court and get the TV back at no cost, but using the court's time for that would make the judge angry, so the best thing was for me to go to the pawn shop and pay them whatever they had loaned on it, which was like $10. (Apparently the thief's sister, who pawned it, just needed enough for a Big Gulp and a bag of Cheetos.) I asked the detective how much of the stuff in a pawn shop is stolen, and he said "most of it". I had never been in a pawn shop before, and the guy behind the counter was a real sleazeball. He smiled and said "It's too bad when people have to pay to get their stuff back." I told myself it was a finder's fee. Dirtbag.
The brand new tools people also have a tendency to max out store credit cards and get the cash then never pay the card
I'm imagining the old lady gleefully showing the police all these weapons
"This here's the napalm mixer."
"This is the uh... Rosary grenade launcher?"
"I think you mean rotary, ma'am."
Gotta love how the face on the thumbnail was altered to look like the Red Spy from Team Fortress 2. XD
Thumbnail kinda looks like Jim Carrey from "Fun with Dick & Jane"...to ME anyway! 🤷♂️
I went to high-school with a kid that robbed the armory for a bunch of rifles !
Why did your high school have an armory?
@@girloninternet1188 it didn't... the army did ...🤣😂🤣
The post talking about how pawn shop employees get a feeling when someone might have stolen the item.
Could they please teach this skill to salvage yard staff who don't ask questions when a meth head walks up with 150 catalytic converters. Seriously, stop buying the damn things except from known sources and people will stop stealing them.
The dude looking for scrape metal and find a high caliber round lmao
All the stolen Alpine car stereo people would sell to pawn shops back in the late 1980s and 1990s. 💚 lol 😂
Eze e: 🎶then i let the alpine play
@@nolesy34 Their was few different songs back in the day that would reference Alpine car audio Sir Mix Lot Posse on Broadway. I had a $15k all Alpine car audio system with the Alpine cellular telephone and security system with the Alpine pager. I still have all of my Alpine jackets T shirts hats duffle bags.
@@skullandbones1832 it was the shit, like if fast and furious had a stereo version alpine would be the NOS, like
Harry i need subwoofers for the meet TONIGHT
Throwing the barrel of a shotgun away would be the most logical of fixes for too short shotguns, but if you get caught....
6:50 if the smell still lingered in the store, it wasn’t cleaned up buddy 🤣
Once it soaks into the carpet pad it never really gets clean.
Sounds like the guy did this on purpose
13:00 In usa there is no legal min length barrel for smooth bore shot guns! (any smooth bore gun actually) THE MORE YOU KNOW!
Not exactly true. Federally it still has to pass your state laws.
Next to buy or modify one to having a barrel 18" or less or an overall length of less than 26" .
If purchasing from an individual it has to be a form 4 transfer.
If you make one you need to register it on a form 1.
Pass a BATFE background check.
Pay a one time $200 tax to register or transfer it.
Reside in a state which they are legal, and be a US citizen.
Shotguns are more restricted than rifles (16" barrel).
Making stupid statements about legality will get someone in life ruining trouble if they are foolish enough to believe you
@@duanesamuelson2256 Anyone dumb enough to take legal advice from a YT video, let alone about our ever-changing and always-infringing gun laws, deserves what they get.
@@chainsawsubtlety9828 oh I agree, but only to a limited degree..i can just see a kid chopping off the barrels of an old 12 ga to 12" also because of a yt statement..figured to toss a bit of reality in.
@@duanesamuelson2256 Yeah, good on ya. 👍
So a rpg is not illegal actually...you just need a license to own a destructive weapon...and permission every time you want to fire it...and paperwork for each ammunition you buy for it
I found merchandise from my job at a pawnshop last year. Brand new, in box, unopened and store numbers still on the shipping label. Texted my AP manager and nothing came of it.
That guy who salvaged the artillery shell is really lucky he didn't use his cutting torch on it.
The law needs to change that pawnshops get to keep the money from stolen items.
A federal stamp for automatics is not that expensive. The gun itself is $$$$$$, but the stamp is only a few hundred bucks.
13:13 the only time cops pay attention and care is when they see someone committing benefits "fraud" or car laws
I'm sure somebody's wrote it in the comments but if that pawn shop with the RPG was in America that's not a true story they should know that RPGs are legal to own here.
The thumbnail sketch is perfect and very funny
The tooth guy tortured someone for those gold teeth.
The Gun in a park story almost made me spit out my lunch
Oh wow! 15:43
Here they have to hold for a certain time, which I think is the law in the USA now! register it on a db the police can check!
"Metal recycle guy find a huge bullet like object in a military place with some mechanism on it"
Guy: Yeah definitively not a dangerous bomb.
A miracle this guy have carried and probably throwed this thing all this time and didn't exploded, the this wasn't a dud and still alive (since the anti-bomb team manage to explode it). What a lucky dude.
I hate gun laws. If you want to buy guns for collecting just because they're neat you'll overspend out of necessity. For example: the Israeli Uzi submachine gun cost about $200 usd when created because it was meant to be cheap as fuck because war and shit. If you wanted a proper Uzi as a civilian legally you'd have to pay like $8,000 not including permits. All for what, to keep them out of hands of people who willfully violate the law anyway. Might as well ban sober people from driving then
I wonder how many Class III weapons would magically be found if they offered another amnesty like back in 1968?
Removing and destroying an illegally short barrel from a shotty that you incidentally came into possession of really wouldn't be that big of a deal. Buying it off someone else whilst knowing that it is illegal is just generally moronic, though.
What’s a cash converter?
Brand of franchise like the mcdonalds of pawn
13:24 YARD DECORATIONS???
Remote working a tv, unfortunately does not prove anything. Lots of remotes will work lots of TV's
RIP that guys Fender.
If something is stolen, sold to a pawn shop, then sold by the pawn shop, I wonder if you'd have a civil case to sue the pawn shop for the fair market value of the item.
worked as the firearms rep for a chain of pawn stores that sound sorta kinda like 'BawlZax'. place was a dump. we mostly dealt with jewelry or broken iphones. had a banger bring in his tec 9. straight up fukkin machine gun. was cool to see one in person, but we told him in no uncertain terms that we would not be loaning on it, or purchasing it from him. had another guy bring in a box of Glock switches. this was in eastern Iowa, so we'd get a lot of guys from Chicago and Illinois as a whole come through and sell their stuff. we just took their info, paid the absolute lowest for it, and turned it all over to the local police twice a month, if they came in with an Illinois ID. the police would comp the company for it if they found something fishy, otherwise they'd send it back and we'd send it down south for processing. none of the guns we sold were actually ones we purchased or possessed after defaulted loans.
,1:55 a bag of what
I'm surprise no junkies brought drugs to pawn
Sorry but this might be dumb, but I’m sensing a big problem in the us with guns. Why don’t you guys just sell every gun, but don’t source ammo, or just sell fake ammo. Like only blank bullets of with the right psicological and criminal background also normal bullets for defending yourself or propriety? Why is it never been take in consideration
People do own blanks (practice rounds) rubber bullets and tasers and riot police have methods to stun and shock and not kill, yes whats your point
@@nolesy34 my point is, since it’s a safety issue to have guns shooting real bullets, ban the real bullets, so you can only have rubber bullets, tasers and blank. So no more mass shootings, useless killings and more
@@kiriakai2842 people will always have intentions however... harm minimization is key
Social incentives to not hurt would be something social engineering can do however
