Good on him, what he said is exactly why I'm selling my house and going full time vanlife and travelling. Work when I choose to and not because I need too...life is too short to work 65 years of it
Sounds fun, wish you all the best. Its better than paying all your money to the government etc.. plus you get to live somewhere different every day/week.
@@lovelyjubbly87 I need to sell it to live off for the funds for my adventure and have no worries in life lol I would like to keep it too but it just won't work for me, I want a stress free life, don't we all 🤣
@@mysticalsouls thank you 😊 il be doing videos of historical locations around Europe mainly and of course the van life 😂 few months away yet but hopefully you'll see my future travels 😁 it's a working process haha
My mom gave me a hard time when I told her I wanted to live small. She believes big things are a sign of success, and that I should be insecure about that. But I think it's a trap, the way everything pushes us to consume. More than that it keeps us working for life, when instead we should be living for ourselves.
One suggestion for Callum's toilet situation would be a bucket toilet that comes with a proper seat. They can be lined with plastic bags and crystal kitty litter at the bottom if desired. Then it's simply a matter of removing the bag every day or few days, tying it off and disposing of it in a public litter bin. (It's not illegal as doggy poop bags are disposed of in the same way.) It eliminates the need to use public restrooms or going on a trek with loo paper and a shovel! Especially great in the middle of the night or if it's raining. Anyway just a thought. 😊
I love your philosophy. I totally agree. Life is harder in a van in regard to sourcing water, dumping poop, recharging batteries, and finding a safe place to park for the night, but the rewards of freedom to explore and be a part of the real world do outweigh it. It's a beautiful van. Well done.
Speaking from experience Callum is a great lad thats very hard working passionate about his lifestyle and loving to Nellie Met up with him quite a few times in Wales when he's down here on his travels Hes great company and what a strength of character to be different from the norm Well done Callum and Nellie ❤💪
All these people with their stories. And I can't disagree with anything any of them say. It's all so obvious when you think about it. All power to you. ALL of you.
Love his philosophy on life. We aren’t meant to work every day our entire lives to live in a house and maybe get a week or 2 off every summer to be in nature. He has the right idea! 👍😊
He's a smart man I think, with no nonsense, content with a very humble but nice home, enjoying being with nature. Great choice of person to interview 👌
Fair play to Callum, massive respect. He has everything he needs in the van and a cracking companion in Nellie! That was a great watch, I really enjoyed it …. Smithy
Thats awesome, love how he made it! We have also a Kangoo but only for vacations and we love it. We did in back full bed and ours have also some cute storage that we keep it, well, we are 3, 2 humans and 1 dog big like a human.
Bob Wells's Cheap RV Living sparked my interest in Van Life, and of course Chrome's VancityVanlife, and Foresty Forest in Canada share their adventures.... But it's the Liveration Videos that are far more useful to me, as I live in a similar climate. So thanks for finding all of these wonderful builds and vanlife biographies. It's inspiring ❤❤❤❤
He has the right outlook and attitude to this way of life, it really suits him, he has so much positivity, a really nice chap and I wish him all the very best 😊
Four and a half years ago, I left a beach house to move into my 2004 Toyota Highlander. It was the best thing I ever did and I've never been happier! I'm debt free and I can enjoy life because I can afford to. I don't have much but the few things I do own are the best that money can buy. I travel at will and spend my time with my family and dear friends. I never dreamed that I could be so happy living in such a little Home! If you're thinking about changing your life by living in a vehicle, Do It! You'll thank yourself later!
Did the same for a while myself in a Citroen C15 Champ van. Took out the passenger seat and slept down that side on my bed. Little loo, gas stove, hand basin, tiny woodburner. I'm 6ft 6 and it worked fine for me. Drove that thing to Greece and back from Cornwall. Did the same again the following year but in a slightly bigger Citroen Dispatch van with the 1.9D engine. Felt massive compared to the C15 lol.
I really liked what Cal had done with his home. Just goes to show, any size vehicle space can be made into a place to live. I love the micro campers and how innovative you can be. Good find guys...as per 🙏🏻💚💚
Great little van Callum & Nellie! I've got the same sized van & the same sized dog and it really is a great little way of life. Must say yours is more like an Allan's cave Callum, it's vibrant & colourful. Love it when you say you wouldn't live in a house just for a posh toilet!😂 I just love the freedom this van life brings and being able to wander deeper into nature with our dogs & live amongst it is a dream hey. Really enjoyed your video, it's been really encouraging & upbeat! Here's wishing the best of luck to you both wherever you wander.
You said a lot that was right on point. About domestic animals living under artificial light, tied down to places and mortgages for 30 years, isn't the right way to live. No wonder all that freedom helps mentally. The clarity of air and clarity of the mind is surely not a coincidence. Btw, like your little dog with her armadillo sweater. And your 'My other car is a Kayak' sticker👍.
I live in my peugeot partner. I love it, it's totally inconspicous, economical to run and easy to use as an everyday vehicle. I was working a min 45+ hrs a week to afford to pay rent and bills leaving me with no time, money or energy to enjoy life. I now work a max 80hrs a month and go wherever I want to explore. My van is really well insulated and though I have a leisure battery and an inverter to run a small low watt heater I've not used it even during the winter months so I've just given it away to someone who lives in a house but struggles to afford to heat it ironically. I have a portable composting toilet for when it's not convenient to wild toilet. It seperates solid from liquid waste, solids go in a compostable bag which I usually dispose of in a dog poo bin.
I lived in a caravan for a year and loved every minute, sadly back renting a house. Bloody hate it, such a waste of money and time. Good luck, great video, keep em coming
Tiny Camper put a black pipe along one side of his minivan to heat up water, he can get hot water for his shower or dishes that way. I'm definitely going to do the same, even if that only works in the warmer months :)
Good on you my friend , people could learn a lot from your minimalist approach to life most material things are a burden anyway . very inspirational video 👍
great young man I wish more people would realise that life is not about how much money you can die with too many people think a new phone or car and stuff is going to magically make you happy
Great video...good on you Callum! My niece and her partner are doing the same, travelling through Australia. Becoming very popular over here too, due to the economy. Love your outlook on life, you'll be an inspiration to many. 💙Perth Western Australia
That's what I am talking about! I had a camper just like that albeit with less facilities than Callum, but still made it functional. I used a pop up tent to off load stuff when I could over night. I am back in the rat race again for a project. but not for much longer. Callum you have done a great job on the van. Nice One.
Love this so much! I desperately want a van and to travel but I have been struggling to decide on what van. I crave a simple life and I think really the smaller the better. So thank you
Fair play to you brother, I’m in the trades too and planning on getting on board with van life and seasonal work. I’m busiest during winter season anyway and plan on taking summers off 🤙
Love the guy, love his attitude and he works to live. I'd have to have a sprinter type van though if it was a permanent home. Space and height. Good luck to him.
Fantastic! What a simple life, very few cares in the world 🙂 This lifestyle seems to suit tradesmen (working men), Mad Mark comes to mind - work for a few days, have a week off! As Callum said, the summers are his, not the factory fortnight stress others look forward to. Thanks again Liveration 🙂

I would personally rent your house out rather than sell it, make bit of money each month and value of the house goes up

Comes across as a decent guy - respect to the man for living his dream & not being a sheep
not a sheep, more like a dog.. shitting in the woods
I don't think he'd be a sheep if he chose a traditional home, he is just doing what works well for how he wants to live.
Yeah! Everyone should be homeless
My mom gave me a hard time when I told her I wanted to live small. She believes big things are a sign of success, and that I should be insecure about that. But I think it's a trap, the way everything pushes us to consume. More than that it keeps us working for life, when instead we should be living for ourselves.
Less is truly more
Dealing with same issue right now 😢
We stopped doing consumeristic events too, birthdays, mothers/Father’s Day, Xmas, etc etc as that too is all geared to consumerism alone. X x x
its just a trap keep them poor and working as slaves.
You are on the right path.
I wish you the best ❤

Yeah, chucking darts towards his windscreen. So smart 😂
young guy with a great sense of the reality of the extortionate cost of living ,and enjoying his life his way .good luck to him.
Right on about money! Cozy and stylish home, my friend. Keep on enjoying this life you’ve chosen for yourself.
What a legend, big up Callum & Nellie
This guy gets it. Printed money (debt) is the greatest illusion of them all - all there are many.
Bravo to you.
Good on him great to hear he's got his head screwed on and knows the truth about the system because so many people don't and are asleep
What a lovely bloke. Fantastic positive attitude towards life. Well done. Stay blessed 😊😊😊
Lovely guy, lovely doggo, lovely home and way of life; respect!
Makes you realise what slaves to the machine we really are. I love what he is doing. That Kangoo looks amazing inside.
How 😁👍brill this
I dont blame him one bit getting out of the matrix ....off grid
No big bills is brill 👊
Love his attitude
Yep, that's the way to do it. No need to weigh yourself down with non-residential stuff.
Love the wood stove!

Nice honest interview about van life. Live in a van too. Nice to see something realistic
Wow, what an amazing person. His outlook on life is exactly how I feel.❤thank you for sharing your thoughts, your journey.🙏
Love your little car it's perfect and you managed to get a wood stove in. Love all the details you did to make it cozy.
I love Nellie`s coat. The van is so well organised.
Love it, wish I’d have had the bottle to do this years ago. And I love the view you have about money and what life should be about.🙏👍👍

If I were young again, and could make my choices over, this would be my life. You don't need all the crap that society tells you that you need.

I like that you don’t rush quite…so much the intro, a little more slower pace would relate more to the slower pace of the van living 😊
I like your style, you've got your priorities right mate.
This guy seems very young and yet he's already figured out the best way to live.

Cool dude, Im 64 and lived in my van for years now,i wouldn't change it for anything unless as he says i just wander off and live like a hobbo
I have on tap water and this guy showers more than I do. There's nothing dirty or socially unacceptable about living in a van - the right way.

I agree with the toilet situation. Inside loos gross me out massively. My van is big enough for a loo but I still prefer taking my spade for a walk. 😂
