I have heard this song many times and I never really got what it was about until I heard this performance. Jealousy is a serious theme and she does it justice with this rendition.
I've been an Angel for almost 8 years now. I don't know what it is like going from 10 year old Angelina to 16 year old in a manner of minutes or hours, but I can imagine it's alot to process.

Elvis is a legend and rightly so but, in his versions of this song I never believed a word he said (although, he was entertaining). In Angelina's version, as usual, I was mesmerized by every word, every breath, and I believed it all.

Amazing how she can deliver such emotional punch with a song.
Angelina slowed this song down and uncovered it so that you hear the lyrics rather than just the musical beat as Elvis did. Her voice is stellar, and as you said, with all her influences. And with that, she evoked emotion on another level. Once Angelina gets you like that, you realize everything the angels have been telling you is true. There's something magical going on and you realize it more and more over time.
I highly recommend Angelina's version of Unchained Melody from the musical in Portsmouth New Hampshire concert from a month ago. It is certainly up there with one of Angelina's finest performances. Peace

The pianist Rob Christie (music studio director of Republic Records distribution of UMG, two-time Grammy winner) changed the musical arrangement and Angelina changed the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyrical structure starting with the bridge and gives the song a different meaning than Felton Jarvis and Mark James , Angelina version absolutely fits the lyric better. Once again, many people don't hear and understand the song until Angelina tells the story. 👣 💯 *AJ* 💯👣
The producer Felton Jarvis from Elvis Presley cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original country arrangement completely from Mark James and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version).

This was a good one. Be prepared when you Listen to Million Miles. She wrote it for her grand father, who passed away around this time. Absolutely amazing. It will get you every time. For me, it doesn't matter how many times I listen.
Great reaction to AJ 's beautiful tribute to Elvis who she loves there are lots of touches, Priscilla's hair , the leathers , a copy of his guitar which she borrowed from the pianist Rob Christie from Republic Records who has been working with AJ since she signed with them at 14yrs old. Just to add they have just built her , her own studio. Yes she is a master storyteller and is all about the feeling right down to a breath or a single syllable her attention to detail is unmatched along with everything else she does. This video is full of visual references to Elvis. It can be seen as a tribute to him, it was released in time for last year's premiere of the Elvis biopic you mentioned and brought Angelina a lot of attention and a meeting with Pricilla Presley.
It shows very well why Elvis is called a great entertainer and Angelina a master storyteller who is able to convey emotions like no other. Angelina pays tribute to Elvis while bringing back the meaning the original artist/songwriter (Mark James) intended, so the impact is different.
Your brain may comprehend it better this time, because Angelina is now almost 6 feet tall and looks like the grown woman her voice belongs to, but she's still a 16-year-old teenager here.
And you can expect something special when a Grammy winner plays his own piano arrangement as accompaniment. 😉

You have already heard her when she was 10 years old, although at that time she was more surprising because of her age than because of her enormous quality, it's even scary to think about what she can do at 30 years old. I grew up listening to Elvis, and I heard this song HUNDREDS of times. Until Angelina did her version, I never actually heard the words, but with her I not only hear them, I feel them. On another note, being born in 1954 and hearing and seeing Elvis a lot, I wasn't impressed with the movie, but that's just my opinion. 😊

My thoughts on this,
Power & Pure Velvet Perfection! This vocal arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt in collaboration with a stellar team including Rob Christie & Mery Zamani her Grandmother. She is a Master Storyteller. The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She can bring tears to your eyes.
I base my interpretation on my knowledge of Angelina's journey from an 18 month old little girl singing a "classic" of music history 'I Will Always Love You' . She has been listening to these classics on repeat on TH-cam since then under the guidance and inspiration of her Grandmother Mery Zamani.
She has been performing these classics since her first time in studio at 6 yrs old.. She has continued this journey through her 1st introduction to the world with her "Classic'" 'Gloomy Sunday’ and following with her many performances at her many Jazz Festivals, TV performances, Concerts, and charity events, studio recordings and practice sessions at home accompanied or not. The location in the Antique store represents these classics (like the furniture) of another era. To me she portrays wonder at all these classics surrounding her. as she has travelled this road. Her tribute to Elvis is at her present age, today, each stage represented by her cousins and sister and ending with Angelina herself on the couch still admiring all this history surrounding her. The Gent on the piano is Rob Christie, 2times winner of the Grammy and managing director of Republic Records Studio LA, so just a lowly musician😂. Republid Rec. built AJ even her own studio, so she can compose without disturbance. So the treasure of Norway told us, that she now composees her songs at the piano in the studio. She composes since age 10. Now, today, so she told us all, she has written over 100 songs.

I totally get the emotion this performance provoked on you. Specially if you had the Elvis version in mind, this one Angelina arranged like a balad hits you hard. Not only because you can really understand the lyrics and the story behind it, but mainly listening to the power and yet softness in her voice.
And of course, the video is wonderful, Angelina's outfit, guitar and hairdo brings back all of Elvis and his wife Priscilla's style, as does the outfit of the piano player who by the way is Rob Christie, Republic Records Studio Director, music producer and creative manager.

My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on TH-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on TH-cam went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a TH-cam video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on TH-cam. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On TH-cam, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. I’ve watched this about 20 times and once again-perhaps because of your reaction as well- she got me again😢. This is among my top 10 favorites of Angelina. The setting by grandmother Meri, the piano by Rob Christie and Angelina’s heartfelt voice as a tribute to Elvis make it so beautiful! Fantastic reaction! Thank you! The reason that "guy" is amazing on the piano is because he is none other than Rob Christie, multi-Grammy winner and executive producer at Republic Records! Angelina signed with Republic in August 2020 at age 14, and he has become her mentor and a close friend of her and her family. You will see him again in other videos, such as "All I Ask" (Adele cover), "Heal the World" (Michael Jackson cover), "Million Miles" (Angelina original in b&w studio setting), and I think a couple of others. They're amazing together!

That was a truly touching reaction -- very likable. Never expect that any of her songs can't do that. Those who have been around for longer know. But it's perfectly fine. Angelina transcends. Somebody once noted that she can make stones cry. Welcome to Angelina's crowd. When I heard this song for the first time and she sang the first note, it hit me like a slegehammer.
BTW, you noticed that the boots she wore when she stepped into the room were gone when she started to sing, did you? The kids are Angelina's younger sister (the last one) and her two nieces (the younger ones). Her grandma Mery Zamani has been the executive producer of this video.

It is such a privilage to listen to her grow up trying on industry greats....many songs thought to be untouchable. She is fearless. Whether its Elvis, Adele, Whitney or Michael Jackson......she puts her mark on it. Yes grammy winning Rob Christie does an excellent job on piano.

Great heartfelt reaction & appreciation for Angelina's incredible reinterpretation & performance off this Elvis hit song. Like you, I think many of Angelina's fans are deeply moved by her performances. I know that for me hearing Angelina sing this is the 1st time I ever listened closely to & better understood the lyrics. And the amazing piano playing by Rob Christie (Republic Records Studio Director) just adds to the overall experience. This performance was also a family production - the Executive Director Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother, the 2 youngest girls are her cousins & the older girl is Angelina's younger sister Juliette. It was also a great tribute to Elvis - Angelina's beehive hairdo is reminiscent of Priscilla Presley & her black leather jump suit & red Hagstrom guitar are just like Elvis used in his "Comeback Tour". For another emotional masterpiece by Angelina, please check out her AGT audition singing her reinterpretation of Bohemian Rhapsody - at age 13. Thank you.
