i have this model and love it. I carry it with me on a daily basis and use it often. This model replaced my Leatherman because it was more comfortable , easier to sharpen and a much better all rounder. The Leatherman is now part of my car kit.
Love this video, even though I don't understand the fetish for splitting wood with a knife. BIG THUMBS UP for actually using this knife not just sitting on your backside a talking.
Great showing and demonstration of the Forester. It sure looks like it could handle many different duties. I liked and subbed you so keep them coming and I will try to be watching.
You can screw the corkscrew in a big chunk of wood and use it as a handle to carry it. You can untie knots with it, better than with your fingers alone. You can screw it in a stick, open the saw and use it as a telescope saw to cut things out of reach. Cheers, mate!
I love it. I have one for seven years now, it's great. But I modified it a lot. I've sent it to Victorinox and they fixed it it's brand new now, so if you brakes witch is very unlikely, send it and they will fix it for you. If it's not covered by the warranty it is additional £10, and that's it. New scales, new screwdriver, can opener, new liner lock, because I've grinded the ring hole. They've polished the blade. Excellent service. Cheers 👍
I should imagine it would last the rest of my life now, I have an old swiss army knife from 1995 and it still works ok except the scissors. It's kept in the junk draw just in case I need to cut something. The one thing I didn't mention was I wouldn't baton with it regularly, it's just there for small cuts if you're just hiking or using an axe and a fixed blade knife. 👍
I have this in the walnut and sadly it doesn’t come with a set of tweezers or toothpick… some reason they didn’t want it with the wooden handle! Still a great tool though!
@@Andy-walkaboutnutty Yeah. :D But still - you should baton with a folder only in the non-locked position. This puts terrible amount of stress on the joint and the locking mechanism. :)
Ohhhhh yerrr, I forgot, yes drinking oak leaf wine with #breakawaysurvivalschool on a club meet. Was that you who brought it in or are you just just messing?
A high quality pen knife with only a blade is OK. But a high quality pen knife with a saw for wood and metal plus the other bits on it is a definite must have, alongside a combat knife, of course 💯%
I think this knife was specifically designed for a German market. Blade dimensions, opening action, locking mechanism - the whole design reeks of German law.

I've owned a Forester for fifteen years. Highly dependable, it does all I ask of it. I have no doubt it will easily outlive me
@terryjacob8169 yer, they are good. That's why I had to make I video on it.

@bluecow2655 Thanks for that. Normally, I would never split wood with a pen knife, but it was something I needed to do in the moment.
That´s my EDC-knife since a couple of years but in olive drab with the Bundeswehr-eagle on it. Greetings from Germany!
Cheers and thanks 👍
Turn the blade 90 degrees when batoning, otherwise you will knacker the spring mechanism.
Thanks for that. Lucky enough, I don't baton anything at all with the pen knife, it was just that moment. 👍

Thanks blades and more 👍

Thanks for the information 👍
Tip: If you grind flat the bottom of the bottle opener-flat head combo (near the tip) you get a highly effective, locking ferro rod scraper.
Thanks for the tip 👍

@andy walkaboutnutty I have video on that, check it out if you like. Take care 👍
Quality item gotta love that brand! Looks like it will last a long time👍🍺

I think it’s very lovely and accommodating 🏓
Yer, it's pretty good. Hope you enjoyed the video 👍
If you baton with any hinged knives they will eventually break. Pocket knives are not designed for such banging.
Cheers!
I understand this David, thanks 👍
But you can if you turn the blade at a 90 degree angle. Otherwise you’re right, it’ll damage the spring mechanism.
Nice video. Getts the job done.
Thanks third watch, yer it's a nice bit of kit. 👍

If you had the trailmaster you could do the screw easily
Oak leaf wine from the forest matey

Yes swiss army knifes are way easier to sharpen

Пилой(обухом) лучше навернре по огниву
I'm sorry but I can't understand your language but I hope you enjoyed the video 👍
The spine of the saw works best for lighting a fire.
Mal,para eso está el hacha,la navaja se utiliza para lo ke está diseñada
Sorry, I Don't understand your language, but I hope you enjoyed 👍
just a fyi for your viewers , this isnt legal carry in the uk, if you happen to get stopped searched for whatever reason you will get in shit
I don't carry it in everyday life, only in the outdoor times so I should be OK considering it's normal to carry a blade in that environment. 👍
