Please, do the comparisation between 2xR-115SW vs PB3000...because i'm really considering if i'll by another R-115SW, or just sell the one i already have and buy the PB3000..
SVS PB3000 AMAZING!!! I had no idea. Everything just came to life. Thanks Youthman for all the very informative videos you have posted. Your videos were instructive and a huge help to me while working on this 8 month project. I had no idea what it was like to actually EXPERIENCE a movie. This subwoofer has completed my home theater. A run down.... My room is 14 ft by 14 ft with 8 ft ceilings. I have one long comfortable reclining sofa. A great surround sound is not complete without a great 4K TV. So I watch all the sound pounding explosions on my LGOLED65C8. Best picture available, in my opinion. Powering my speakers is the Marantz SR7012. This AVR is incredibly customizable, once you learn how and what is what. I purchased a Crown XLS1002 to power my 2 front Klipsch RP8000. The Marantz just didn't have enough for these towers. Audyssey has calibrated everything for me, however I did turn up the volume for the center.I have these at 60htz along with my Klipsch RP504C. This was wise advice I received from a SVS tech. Surrounding me are 4 Klipsch RP502S and 4 Klipsch RP500SA these 8 are set at 80htz. I have had a few wow moments as I was upgrading this project. For instance adding the Crown was a really pleasant WOW moment, it added a ton more sound and power to boot, especially playing music in stereo. Another subtle wow moment was upgrading the Klipsch RP140Sa to the Klipsch RP500SA. The Atmos sounds really came to life after this upgrade and much more definitive. I was using an old pair of Klipsch RF2"s as my side surround. I upgraded and got that second pair of Rp502s. This was anther good purchase as again the sound traveling around me was much more pronounced. But no Wow moment was bigger than that WOW from the SVS PB3000. This took everything to the highest level available to me.....I live in a townhouse. My neighbor has been incredibly gracious. This subwoofer moves walls. And by the way, the SVS replaced the Klipsch 112Sw. UM..... NO comparison, totally different league. I really like the phone app for this PB3000 I can just sit and watch a movie and play with this sub to get the perfect sounds and thumps and roars to my liking. No need to get up. Keep on posting videos Youthman you've been great.:)
Your videos are often eerily well-timed for me as I'm considering dual SB3000's to replace my aging SVS PB12 Plus/2 AND I just finished watching Aquaman. You're right about the story not being very compelling but man that Atmos track! Keep up the awesome work!
Man that PB12 Plus/2 was what I dreamed of having 14 years ago when I began building my setup. At the time I had a really low budget so I had to use my dual Velodyne HGS15’s
Yeah buddy! I own dual pb3000's! Been enjoying what you explained for some time now! Only greater! I'm convinced one of the reasons the PB 3000 is so good is because of the split wine voice coil svs has put in it. When they first released it they were getting phone calls from people saying that the PB 3000 was really sounding very close to the 4,000 and and maybe even a little better. The engineers were asking the higher-ups if they were sure they wanted to put out a subwoofer with with this kind of capability at the price point and they said yes. You can do your own homework on that and check up on what I've said very interesting indeed. Thank you for your words!
well the price went way up for the 3000 lmao. however, still a great competitor and probably one of svs's best subs to date when it comes to price to performance ratio.
what difference would that make? If 1 pb3000 out performs 1 Klipsch 115sw what makes u think that 2 115sw would stand up to 2 pb3000s even better. The svs would probably...oops have more head room, in theory
Dual subs have many advantages over single subs, primarily in coverage as they can fill in output nulls to more evenly cover your room and produce a better response curve. With the R115SW being nearly half the price of the PB3000 and also being roughly half the cabinet (on the spec sheet at least), it's a very valid argument to take into consideration. The hard thing here is that there's no real apples to apples as these are two very different designs with a multitude of variables. Wattage, driver size, plate amp efficiency, etc etc. Only way to tell is to put them in the ring and duke it out.
He did a comparison against the pb16 months ago he said the 2 klipsh did a better job and he thought 1 pb16 would beat the 2x R115sw but it didnt....at least that was my impression from his explanation and facial expressions😂
You are thinking of the RSW-15’s, not the R-115SW. The RSW-15 are around 15 years old and have a 15” Active and a 15” passive. It’s a much better sub than the newer R-115SW.
@@Youthman i didnt even know the rsw 15 had a passive radiator....hmm i thought it was basically the same speaker....gonna have to look into that even though they older......thanks for correcting me i wouldnt have even realized if you hadnt said anything!
Id rather have 2 R115sw than 1 pb3000.....for the same price.....i got my R115sw for $400. ....but if you willing to spend $1400 on 1 go with the svs....but if i was needing 2 subs at $2800 for svs id go with 4x R115sw!
If anyone is deciding between a single PB3000 or a dual R-115SW then IMO go with the dual R-115SW. Two subs will be better than one, especially if we're talking similar quality and total power. Two R-115SW's will put that huge smile on your face. I guarantee it. Mine still make me grin every time I play a good movie or music with incredible bass. Even if Youthman does the comparison it does not mean your results will be the same. Every room is different. Nothing smooths out subwoofer performance across a room better than having two or even four subs. The R-115SW is a kickass subwoofer. I can't imagine anyone coming away from listening to them saying they expected more. Even when I had only one R-115SW it shook the entire house and drove my wife nuts, and when calibrated the gain was only set to 3.5 on the dial of 0-11 in my large 15' x 20' x 8' room. I have never heard it chuffing. I've tested the frequency response using high end test equipment and it smoothly pushed as low as 10hz, which you can't really hear. You pretty much just feel it in your chest and feel a flutter in your ears. I've put a number of subs up against it and nothing else I've tried comes close to the oomph, clarity, and gut pounding power, especially at the lower end.
Hello buddy one more time hope you good i have one question i have a space in my house that is 5 metres length * 3.30 width * 2 metres height I could create a home theatre there with dolby atmos??? or because the ceiling is too low the specifications do not allow it ??? Thank you again!!
Thanks youthman, I know that grin and you sold me. Found a smoking deal on amazon, $1150. I was gonna purchase a second Klipsch R112sw but made the leap for this svs. Can't wait for Thursday
Can you hook up you REW and play that scene that the Klipsch didn't like so we can see what frequency caused it? Maybe it is a spikes at a higher DB then do the same with the other.
Curious about your experience with the PB-3000 vs 4k and PB16-Ultra solo. what do you gain as you step up to each series. each one reviewed looks impressive, but I think users need to know what they gain by stepping up to the next series of SVS subwoofers. Great video and keep'm coming!
so it comes down to how much do you care about below 16hz is the question? if you strive for only deep extensions then 4000 and 16 is your choice. if you want a jack of all trades (but give up some low end bass...like low low end) pb3000 is the best choice and boy does it hit fucking hard. many people on forums say anything above the 3000 series starts to see diminishing returns for the amount of $$ youre spending. price to performance ratio is not that great after the 3000 series in SVS.
Supposably yes. I just need to ask to get one but it might be a bit as I have a lot in the theater room right now. Once I remove the 11 speaker Klipsch reference Premier system I will have a lot more room
I know what you mean, Im going through all the Marvel movies and i saw them before but man this system and set up is awesome. I had to make adjustment to rear and Atmos speakers but im locked in now.Thank again. And most of all being down to earth guy that will reach back out to me.
Yes i am but im going to look at all of the other movies frist, that will give the end game time to cool down. Im going to try that Monday frist show hopefully every one will be at work.
When I saw last week video of you testing both subs using your software I was quite disappointed to hear the results because as a home theater installer for over 20 yrs I always say use your ears and eyes to compare not by some software says. After watching this new video it made me glad that I own a chest pounding SVS sub here as well. I knew there was no way a Klipsch sub would remotely compare with a SVS sub. It's like comparing a Chevy Malibu and an Audi RS5. Good video. Keep rocking...
I see in many of the comments below that Youthman doesn't currently have access to the SVS 2000 series. I am deciding between the Klipsch R-115SW and the SVS PB2000. Unfortunately the PB3000 just isn't in the current budget. Does anyone have experience with the SVS PB2000? I see many great reviews for the PB2000 but none directly comparing to the Klipsch. How does it compare to the R-115SW? I am primarily a movie watcher with just a little music mixed in. I have a full Klipsch Reference Premier system but currently am without a sub. My room is about 14'x30' with 7' ceilings. Any thoughts, opinions, and experiences welcome! Thanks!
I am in the same boat it seems, I ended up getting a pb2000. While it sounds amazing for movies music seems to be a light on the mid bass above 50 hz and output overall. Im currently contemplating sending it back and getting a R115.
love all your videos!! awesome content and great walkthru !! I usually do not comment a lot but man, I had to say " that part where you got smile on your face and you said, I love gears which makes me smile" cant agree more !! its another way of saying" thats the signal for satisfaction "
it would be nice if you could compare the PB16 vs the Dayton audio UM18-22 kit that parts express sells. Its a sealed 18 inch monster that seems to shake house foundations. You could get 2 of those for less than the price of 1 SB16 or 3 for the price of 1 PB16. And it has built in DSP. Parts express just got it back in stock!
I’m sure it’s a great sub but I likely won’t be reviewing DIY gear on my channel. It’s an entirely different niche, not to mention I do not have the tools to properly finish the cabinet.
Hey Mike, Any chance you could do a review on the Klipsch RP 600 and how they timbre match with the RF 7 iii's. For space savers this appears to be Klipsch's best offering for a center speaker with 6.5" drivers but they dwarf the RF 7 iii's 10" drivers so I am not sure how theyll work together. Not everyone has the real estate for the RC 64 iii's, so as a Klipsch affiliate I am sure many of your subscribers, including yours truly, would be curious about the RP 600' s and their performance overall.
I have owned the older RC62 II and it’s a fantastic center. The only issue is the smaller centers will have a much smaller tweeter an it’s not a compression driver. It will work, just not a perfect match for the RF7 III.
I'm not sure sure if ported subs are better. My 115sw overpowered a svs sb4000. I leveled all and the 115sw sounds better by far. Maybe I need to get the pb3000 to notice the difference. I just hate the size of svs ported subs.
That is a very good question. Once I finish with the Reference Premiere System, it will be much easier to get behind my equipment to hook them back up to see how they measure with REW. I also have a miniDSP 2x4HD that hopefully can help with any issues. A lot of my videos come from my own audio journey so I am learning first hand that just because a speaker or sub looks good where it’s at, doesn’t mean it’s the best place for it.
Have you ever considered buttkickers? I'm seeing this as the next dimension of bass experience. I'm looking at getting a set but right now the BKA-1000 is being redesigned so I'm waiting. I'd love you hear your thoughts on this application.
Hi bro, thank you again for this thorough review. Please could you give me an idea if I should ever want to upgrade my sb3000, which are the next levels up in the svs subwoofer chain? BTW I only prefer sealed subs. Excluding the sb16 ultra, which I wouldn't opt for due to its size and cost, would you then say the sb4000 is the next? Does svs have 14inch or 15inch sealed subs? I'm a novice unlike you pls could you get back to me bro. Thanks in advance.
Please do the dual 115s vs pb3000. I was wondering what is the better option. Do you know if running dual subs vs single will dual subs hit lower and deeper or do they fall off at the same frequency? That’s something I can not find any information on.
Hey man please little help svs pb2000 pro or klipsh spl150 ita better for movies 😲 because im searching and i dont know what to choose please little help
Unfortunately I have not reviewed either of those subs so I would only be able to judge based on specs from their website. Typically, SVS is known better for their subwoofers than Klipsch.
Love ur honest review. I have room similar size and my budget would only allow for one pb3000 or dual pb2000. Do you feel like one pb3000 was enough for ur room? Seems from ur review it was impressing u with just a single sub?
It would be nice to know what levels you had the receiver at regarding the sub trim and volume because most other reviewers of the PB3000 and some other subwoofer have to lower the sub trim for the PB3000 because it produces so much bass.
Hmm, not sure you can do an apples to apples comparison without a SPL meter. I love SVS and have two SB-4000 but maybe the Klipsch just had to be bumped up a bit in volume.
Hey buddy. I recently picked up a PB3000 and it sounds amazing most of the time but has a lot of port noise and it seems very random. I'm wondering what I can do to remedy this. Ive messed with the setting but I dont know if I'm doing this right or not. Any tips? Thank you
Unfortunately port noise is something you deal with with many ported subwoofers. I have an experienced it with the larger PB16’s that I have. Port noise is basically when air cannot escape the ports fast enough, and begins to produce a chuffing sound. I sold them and upgraded to a pair of JTR Captivator RS2’s which are sealed. Sealed subs do not have port noise.
@@Youthman I guess I just have to really get used to it. Ive had nothing but sealed in the past. I'll dial it back a little to help with the chuffing. Just dont want to damage it. Thanks for the info sir!!
I love what I have heard in person as well as the reviews but I havent been able to over come the SVS prices yet. I have the R112SW which I got new for less than $300. Its been serving me well especially for the price.
Its a bit on the pricey side for sure. Take a look at Power Sound Audio. They make beastly subs at a more affordable price. The owner of Power Sound Audio is the “V” in SVS. He branches off and started his own company.
Youthman indeed PSA just goes for raw output, where as with SVS you are also paying for the tech behind the subs. If you already have the tech (like with an anti-mode duel core for instance) PSA is the better value. So I liked this video, but what I think would be a more fair comparison (and what I was wondering personally) is how two of the 15s stacks up to one of the SVSs, as that would be an equivalent purchase. As I said earlier, even though the SVS is a better sub, I went with the two 15s for the same price, because my ideal of a legit home theater has always been one in which everybody can enjoy a (nearly) similar viewing/listening experience. So the linear bass response was a major consideration, as was maximum output in the midbass response. Plus... audiohaulics seems to think that the lowest frequencies (the place where the Klipschs will struggle compared to the SVS) do tend to be more cumulative with multiple subs, because those frequencies are less susceptible to detriment from room acoustics. So perhaps two would handle those deficiencies better? Just curios. Thanks for the video!
@Youthman I enjoyed my R-115SW when it worked; however, I have had issues with two (2) plate amps going bad in the sub within about two years which is frustrating to say the least.
I've heard about that problem... It's pretty common, and scares me. I wanted to buy 115, since it matches the design of Premiere series much better. But because of that problem I have to consider SPL-150, which looks 😕 and doesn't match overall Premiere design.
I’m really surprised that you used “Infinity War” as a demo. IMO that blu-ray has one of the worst home audio mixes I’ve heard, dynamics are dull, low end is meh and surround activity is ok. To my ears, that soundtrack is aimed for not very capable systems, as all the latest blu-rays from Disney. Aquaman definitely is a winner, the same for “Blade Runner 2049”, “Tron: Legacy” or “Dunkirk”, all great mixes. I love your comparisons. :D
Thanks, the focus was on LFE so I wasn’t concerned about the surround activity. I try to mix it up and not use the same demos for each video. I have used Dunkirk, BR2049 before. Aquaman was new for me.
Hey Youthman, hope all is good bro. As usual, love your videos. I think I've seen all of them lol. I have a quick question. I have dual R115SW's in my setup but on one of them got damaged. A long piece of wood became unglued from inside the enclosure n fell out of the bottom port and since then all I was getting was port noise n not good bass at all. I contacted Klipsch since its still under warrant and their sending me a SPL-150 as there not manufacturing the R115SW anymore. Comparing them on paper they seem exactly the same except for the enclosure. Sucks that they aint gna match but do you see any differences between the 2?
And now storytime! whoooooo! (Klipsch sponsorship flys away...) Comparing a Camry to a Camaro. You just can't get away from a sub that can double the output of its competitor, but you do pay for that honor! If you have to double or triple up on the Klipch to match the SVS then your cost savings just disappeared.
Yes I think there are pros and cons of both and both meet different needs. Some may need dual subs for a More even response throughout the room but don’t have the budget for dual PB3000. Great thing is we have choices
The SVS at double the power and double the price should beat the Klipsch hands down.....but if you gonna spend $1400 i definitely go klipsh unless you dont have the space!
This is an interesting video but its not exactly and apples to apples comparison.. You are running a 800rms sub vs a 400 rms sub and the svs is approximately 50% more expensive as well.. They are not really competitors in the same price point.. Also, db matching a 400rms sub vs a 800rms sub isnt going to give you the same level output.. all the same, I think the svs is a quality sub. Just some things worth mentioning IMO.
Another great video. It's no surprise how the subs performed. Maybe a comparison between subs of the same cost? Svs are great subs from what I see, but the r115's are a great value sub. There's something for everyone.
That was really the point of comparing them. Both of their strengths and weaknesses, both are at different price points, and both are great subs in an of their own merit
I'd love to see a comparison between svs, Klipsch, and a diy sub like a smaller Dayton ultimax, that would be interesting. Just an idea for future video.
I can only test what I have available and currently I do not have the PB2000 and likely won’t be getting one in for review as I have other gear I want to review
I've had both. Imo if you only watch movies svs handles that really really low better if you watch movies but music is as equal importance to you klipsch is where it is for a better balance of the 2 . klipsch with rock music will blow your mind. And you you want music for the most part and some times watch movies Klipsch hands down by far . sounds like the band is playing for you it's unbelievable
They were the sub to have back in the day. I started out my audio journey with Velodyne CT-100, then F1500, then HGS15, then dual HGS15, then Klipsch RSW15, then (4) RSW-15 and now Dual SVS PB16. Each has been a significant upgrade over the previous. I don’t think Velodyne is in the running anymore
Thanks I own a velodyne sub now it's a little older sub but also have two klipsch subwoofer right now but I was thinking about upgrading, but was not sure if i should stick with velodyne because it does hit lower notes and hits harder than the klipsch but I will definitely look into maybe two of the klipsch 15's thanks again youthman your videos are awesome!
If you want a subwoofer that will shake you that is klipsch, SVS is for music lovers. Each of us perceive different sounds. An audio comparison is always something subjective, absolutely particular.
I agree that audio is subjective but I have owned many Klipsch subs: RW12D, (2)RT-10D, KW-120, (4) RSW-15 and have reviewed dual R-115SW and none of them compare to the SVS PB16. I love Klipsch speaker’s but their subs are not known for being the top dog for music or movies. The PB16 provides tremendous pressurization of my room.
Hey, Youthman I keep looking at peoples comments on this video about I'd rather take 2 Klipsch subs over one Svs sub...well what if money doesn't matter and you can get 2 Klipsch or 2 Svs subs like in this video? My goal is to get 2 Svs SB 16-Ultra's in the front and 2 Svs PB 3000s one on each side of the room...What are your thoughts on that Youthman? Enjoy your videos keep them coming!
Two of my go to DEMO movies, Aquaman and Infinity War :) But as far as subwoofers go - I am very happy with my dual R-115SW's (Well they were free - you know the story with those). I placed my dollars on an external amplifier instead, an Emotiva XPA amp :)
I haven’t heard the PB4000 but have heard nothing but rave reviews on them. If you do purchase them and use my affiliate link in the description, I would be grateful.
Great! I was also waiting for this comparison video. Thank you, Youthman. Looks like the PB-3000 is the way to go! But, if you can do the video comparing two R-115SW's against the SVS, that'll be sweet.
This experience is why I favor one better sub over two at equivalent price. Even with two of the Klipsch you would have the same problems. More even room response? Maybe.
And you'll probably still have chuffing. Unless the subs are in the same location stacked, you likely won't see a 3 db gain across the board either. Mostly levels the response a bit as the response from the separate locations will be different.
It's just not as straight forward as across the board. If you put two drivers instead of one in the enclosure, 3 db. If you double drivers and power 6 db. But as soon as you have things not in the same physical location the room response will start greatly affecting the results. Just like you noted in a prior video it's not the same in every seat.
Good comparison man! SVS has got it right with their subs... Nothing but positive reports on them. And be careful, they may be calling you to be the next Thor if you keep that sorta stuff up in your videos! 😜
Another great video from you Youthman. I love you YT channel, You do a great job. One thing makes me wonder. You compared two models that differ strongly in technical parameters and price. I wonder how it would look the other way ... klipsch r115sw comparisation svs pb 1000. Is the comparison will be better than pb 1000 or r115sw, and it seems to me that it should be very close to the result. Technically, they look close to each other. Only R115sw has 15" speaker but the power is not much higher than in pb 1000. There is a chance for such comparison? Possibly dual r115sw compared with dual pb 1000. It is also possible that such comparison does not make sense since pb 1000 has only 10" speaker. .. Thanks for another great video m8. :) all the best M.
Thank you. It’s always difficult comparing speakers and subwoofers as it’s vey difficult to compare “apples to apples”. Do you compare according to price point? Do you compare according to driver size? Do you compare according to size cabinet? I tend to simply make comparisons based on what I have in for review and simply share the differences. In this case, yes the PB3000 is a better subwoofer but it’s also twice the cost so it should perform better.
Full Marty... doo eeeeet, you know you wanna lol. I can try to help in any way you might need. I know the smile you're talking about with the impression of a good sub now lol
So yeah, Aqua man is a long movie, it has LFE. Another great movie for LFE referencing is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom!! Watch the trailer and let me know what you think. My wife mentioned hearing our system as she was pulling into the garage with this trailer. I smiled. I'm only running 2x 12" subs with maybe +/- 3db 21Hz. But yes, please let me know what you think on JR:Fallen Kingdom trailer.
Bak Oe I currently watch trailers the Amazon fireTV. Trailers are high deff and Dolby D+ 5.1! If you a streaming Device or service, you can watch trailers in 5.1. Keep in mind streaming device's aren't as clear and detailed as HDR 4k Blu Ray disc. The bandwidth isn't there yet. For the best picture and sound always go back the Blu Ray.
Case in point, the family streams most of there movies on our 1080p TV. I recently watched a Blu Ray and the family thought I purchased a 4k TV. 😂😂. Compressed data vs uncompressed.
kyron williams Ha, Yeah. There is a night and day difference. Anyone who doesn’t notice it is simply blind. I always get 4K discs and they often come with regular blu-ray where I sometimes put them in just to watch some trailers in decent quality. It’s a shame the 4K discs doesn’t come with atleast optional trailers. Well Well, I guess the image and sound quality makes up for ot
Love the channel Youthman. My comment would only be, should anyone honestly expect the R-115SW to beat the PB3000 or even be on the same level when the Klipsch is half the price. So I feel the comparison test is not warranted. It's like putting a Middleweight in the ring with a Heavyweight and saying look how much harder the Heavyweight hits, not a fair comparison is all I mean. But keep up the good work love the content.
Hi Terence, One of the goals of my channel is to share my experiences. I happen to have both subwoofers in my home so why not compare both of them even if they’re not in the same tier. Not everyone can afford a $1400 sub woofer so the R115 SW might be a great fit for them. Others may need smooth bass response throughout multiple seating, which you probably will not get with just a single PB 3000 so a pair of our115 SW for the same price might be the better option. The purpose of these videos is simply to share the differences in the experiences between them and let the if you were decide which is best for their setup and budget.
Plus one you’re talking about comparing similar products, are we talking about price? When I compared the PB16 vs PSA S3611 was it fair? One had dual 18” and the other had a 15.5”. But if you’re comparing cost, the PSA S3611 was $400 cheaper so technically there about the same price point.
And as far as the rest not being warranted, At the end of the day you have to realize I’m just having fun with the gear that I have in my home so while it’s here, want to put him head head an at the end of the day you have to realize I’m just having fun with the gear that I have in my home so while they are here, why not see how they compare?
Great review and comparison. This is really torture. I have dual subs. They are DefTech 12” subs which are 5 or 6 years old. They are paired with 2 more 10” subs in my towers. For my size room of 18x18x9 there’s plenty of bass. So I thought. I listened to both of these subs this past weekend. There is definitely something missing, 1 is my HT funds and 2 my WAF. Which is Wife Approved FUNDS. So when I say torture I mean I know what I could have and I know what I won’t have😩😩😩. We need to setup a go fund me page for Us to get the gear we want. And take turns funding each other!! Would that work ?? Probably not but it sounds good.
I rocked my Velodyne CT-100 for a few years, then F1500, then HGS15, then dual HGS15’s, then switched to Klipsch RSW15, then 2, then 3, then 4 RSW-15’s and now Dual SVS PB16’s. Each upgrade was significant.
You know i'm going to buy the PB 4000 . I wanted to buy 1 R 115 SW but I think that I will get more if I buy the PB 4000 . Good for music and for movies .PB 3000 - PB 4000 - PB 16 ultra . I buy the one in the middle .. best of both world . Don't you think ... With my bookshelf R 51 M from klipsch ..
I haven’t heard the PB4000 but own Dual PB16 and have the PB3000 in for review. I think you will be extremely impressed with the PB4000. It should be a much better sub than the R-115SW. If you end up ordering one and use my affiliate link in the description of my videos, I would be grateful.
Disney/Marvel are probably not the best audio testing due to the extreme compression levels they've been releasing with their blu rays. Dr Strange is a better one to test as it's not compressed and impresses deep bass. That was a rare release. Why Disney are compressing the audio for their titles is any ones guess. The DCU releases are mostly atmos bass for the win 🤙
YES!! I’ve been waiting for this Youthman!!! And yes, there’s literally no video review on the sb3000 for movies. For my room, the sb is more suitable for my room in Japan. If you can do a sb3000 review, I would really appreciate that! thank you as always!! Awesome thumbnail 😎😎😎 btw, you were running one PB3000 right? thx!. -Clark
Thanks Clark. Yes this was with a single PB3000 and a single R-115SW. I do have the SB3000 in for review so definitely will have a comparison video between the PB3000 and SB3000 as well as a final review for them
Aquaman turned my VTF-15H MK2 subwoofer into a fan it was blowing so much air around out of the ports.
Wait until you get a second one!!!
Aquaman was nuts. Its from WB so they don't cut down on LFE like Disney does =/
Haha nice!
Please, do the comparisation between 2xR-115SW vs PB3000...because i'm really considering if i'll by another R-115SW, or just sell the one i already have and buy the PB3000..
Jari Niemi just buy a monolith 15” sub
Pb16 in the outlet
Get a PB16 Ultra. It’s a BEAST
I agree do the comparison
I have (2) PB16’s in my setup. I agree, they are a beast
Your enthusiasm is contagious!
Thanks Joe
Svs= subwoofer company. Klipsch= speaker company. Nuff said.
Thanks Youthman. another great video. The fact that your still smiling when you talk about it has easily made up my mind. Thanks again, keep it up.
Gary (owner of SVS) has mentioned that in his video on the PB3000 m.
Please provide a link
I don’t remember what video it was. It’s likely either on their TH-cam channel or their website.
well the price went way up for the 3000 lmao. however, still a great competitor and probably one of svs's best subs to date when it comes to price to performance ratio.
Would love to see the dual 115sw v pb3000 comparison
what difference would that make?
@@hammer627 I think Graham didin't mean 2klipsch vs 2svs..im pretty sure he meant 2klipsch vs 1svs...

Thanks Neil
Ya, would love to see 2 x 115's comparison given the price point and advantages of duals vs. single. Thanks for the great reviews and comparisons.
Thanks David
Duel subs is always better than one 👍
I paid $425 for each of my r115's. Great sub for the money.
@@rmasushige thats a awsome price also
I am running Dual PB 3000 in a 13 x 19 room. It is stupid fun.
My room is 13x19x10 running DuL PB16’s. Brings a smile to my face
@@Youthman I bet it does Youthman lol
I'm running dual R115-SW's. That brings a smile to my face. Not so much the wifes face tho lol. Can't imagine what those dual PB16's sound like
Haha yeah my wife doesn’t care for audio either but she tolerates it
And how's your hearing? Haha i bet those 2 beast put out more than 120db when the bass comes in "the flight of the Phoenix remake"
I have a PB3000 on the way. After 4 years my 115SW gave up the ghost. It still works, but any power and it shuts down.
The PB3000 I reviewed was quite impressive.
Dual r115 or a pb3000 or maybe a pb2000 Pro.. What should I buy 🤔
You are correct, every room is different so any measurements I make are specific to my room. Dual R-115SW would make a great combo.
Sweet deal! Congrats. Led me know what you think after you get it Setup.
Awesome video Youthman. I REALLY enjoyed everything about it.
More power and it digs deeper with the PB16 ultra
so it comes down to how much do you care about below 16hz is the question? if you strive for only deep extensions then 4000 and 16 is your choice.
if you want a jack of all trades (but give up some low end bass...like low low end) pb3000 is the best choice and boy does it hit fucking hard.
many people on forums say anything above the 3000 series starts to see diminishing returns for the amount of $$ youre spending. price to performance ratio is not that great after the 3000 series in SVS.
I’ve heard so many great comments about the PB-3000 but I am very curious about the SB-3000 because of the WAF.
I haven’t heard the SB3000 yet but hoping to this weekend. I do LOVE the small form factor. Can fit about anywhere
Sb3000 is great for its size. For movies comparible to pb1000 20-25 hz output same
Please try and review HSU subwoofers,a lot of audio forums give it very good reviews & they are reasonably priced
I have the Klipsch SW 115 and was considering getting the SVS SB 3000 (can't afford the PB 3000). Is it a worthy upgrade?
I’m rockin the Pioneer SW-8MKS
And my room was rocking
Hey Youthman, do u think klipsch improved with the newer versions the SPL-150sw's from the r-115sw's, when are u going to get ur hands on those
Supposably yes. I just need to ask to get one but it might be a bit as I have a lot in the theater room right now. Once I remove the 11 speaker Klipsch reference Premier system I will have a lot more room
@@Youthman okay, I would happy to take that off ur hands!!!Lol

Yes i am but im going to look at all of the other movies frist, that will give the end game time to cool down. Im going to try that Monday frist show hopefully every one will be at work.
Can u do a video on the different fiber HDMI cable
I probably won’t get into comparing HDMI cables. Being binary (Ones and Zeroes), they either work or they don’t.
Thanks Dan. I have always used my ears with no software. Now I’m learning to combine them both
I see in many of the comments below that Youthman doesn't currently have access to the SVS 2000 series.

Can you compare the PB3000 to the PSA V1510? Very close in price...
Wouldn't a comparison between dual svs pb 2000's and the dual 115's be more appropriate within that price point?
Yes but there is only one problem...I don’t have a PB2000, much less a pair of them 😀 Using what I have to work with
@@Youthman completely understandable, thanks for the reply.
Absolutely
it would be nice if you could compare the PB16 vs the Dayton audio UM18-22 kit that parts express sells.
Hey Mike,
Any chance you could do a review on the Klipsch RP 600 and how they timbre match with the RF 7 iii's.
Orin Naughton I have the 600c and 600m for my front three. They are great and sound amazing.
@@DjGo99 Nice combination. I am sure they rock..Just not many reviews out there on the 600C.
I was wondering, Is having your PB-16 subwoofers behind the screen the best placement for them in your room?
That is a very good question. Once I finish with the Reference Premiere System, it will be much easier to get behind my equipment to hook them back up to see how they measure with REW.
I also have a miniDSP 2x4HD that hopefully can help with any issues.
A lot of my videos come from my own audio journey so I am learning first hand that just because a speaker or sub looks good where it’s at, doesn’t mean it’s the best place for it.
Hello
Youthman what you think about klipsch 15 inch sub vs pb2000.
Which sound better in movies?
What you think
I have not heard the PB2000 so I cannot day which is better but my guess would be the larger R-115SW.
Have you ever considered buttkickers? I'm seeing this as the next dimension of bass experience. I'm looking at getting a set but right now the BKA-1000 is being redesigned so I'm waiting. I'd love you hear your thoughts on this application.
Hey Terry I have heard nothing but good things about but kickers, however I don’t feel like I’m lacking anything with the system that I have now
Can anyone recommend whether to get one pb-3000 or two of the Klipsch ? room is about 25x15
Depends on your room. My subs dont hit lower but it sound deeper since it get a flater response. And they play louder at any given frequency.
Thanks. I’ve been trying to figure that out.
@@Youthman and do you think svs pb 2000 pro or pb3000 its better?😁
Do you run your Marantz 8012 without Audessey? Or do you run it on with Dynamic Eq :)
When testing with REW without. When watching movies, Audyssey on with Dynamic EQ on.
Youthman, now that you have a minidsp you should check out the "bass eq for filtered movies" thread on avsfoum
Love ur honest review. I have room similar size and my budget would only allow for one pb3000 or dual pb2000. Do you feel like one pb3000 was enough for ur room? Seems from ur review it was impressing u with just a single sub?
reviving a dead comment here, but one 3000 murders my 24x17x8 room which is 3200cubic feet.
Im actually giving a pair of svs pc4000 some serious thought...av amp wise im now leaning to the denon
Avc 8500...thoughts on that amp youthman?
It would be nice to know what levels you had the receiver at regarding the sub trim and volume because most other reviewers of the PB3000 and some other subwoofer have to lower the sub trim for the PB3000 because it produces so much bass.
Sub level is set at -10dB
Sub trim in receiver set at 0dB
@@Youthman breh im at -10 in sub app but -1 in the receiver lmaooo. my fellow bass man
Hmm, not sure you can do an apples to apples comparison without a SPL meter. I love SVS and have two SB-4000 but maybe the Klipsch just had to be bumped up a bit in volume.
I’m not following you. I used an SPL to match their levels before running the REW tests. Here is a new video th-cam.com/video/UjLehLSxXJk/w-d-xo.html
@@Youthman I will check them out. Thanks!
Because it makes more sense to use videos that people actually watch.
@@Youthman do terminator salvation. the entire movie is just LFE
I haven’t heard the new SPL-15. Let me know how they compare
@@Youthman will do Youthman. But man on looks alone the SPL-150 is pretty ugly compared to the R115-SW

And now storytime! whoooooo! (Klipsch sponsorship flys away...)
Comparing a Camry to a Camaro.
Youthman how did the they both do when it came to music?
Aquaman will be the 1st movie I watch after using REW, put it on and watched chapter one yesterday.
Nice! I need to watch the entire movie and jot down the parts that have the best LFE for future demos
Great video man! Great subwoofers. Have fun watching movies!
Thanks
I'd love to see a comparison between svs, Klipsch, and a diy sub like a smaller Dayton ultimax, that would be interesting. Just an idea for future video.

How about 2 Monoprice monolith 15 I think they may be better than the pb3000
Probably so. 15” vs 12.5”. I would expect it to.
Youth man what's your opinion on velodyne subs?
@@magmag8434 Or if you really like the velodyne then you should buy another one... go duel subs. It will make it sound better than ever.
The PB16 provides tremendous pressurization of my room.
ok
Ok which is better pb3000 or pb 2000?
Really? I haven’t heard the PB2000 but wouldn’t you think it would perform better than it’s smaller PB2000? More power, larger driver.
What is oxygen free speaker wire??
Probably best to Google it
Youthman ok
how would the rsw15 compare to the pb3000 1:1
Don’t know as I sold my (4) many months ago and upgraded to Dual PB16’s.
For the ppl like me, who don't want to watch the complete movie(s), could you point where (minutes into the movie) the particular LFE start, plz
Just jump to the chapter called Wikonda and the chapter called Stormbreaker.
There is LFE throughout the entire movie.
I'm one of the guys who suggested Aquaman. Great video. do you think there's a different crossover frequency that you like from music to movies?
Hey, Youthman I keep looking at peoples comments on this video about I'd rather take 2 Klipsch subs over one Svs sub...well what if money doesn't matter and you can get 2 Klipsch or 2 Svs subs like in this video? My goal is to get 2 Svs SB 16-Ultra's in the front and 2 Svs PB 3000s one on each side of the room...What are your thoughts on that Youthman? Enjoy your videos keep them coming!
David, I have Dual PB16's in my 13' x 19' x 10' room. They are very impressive. Neither the PB3000 or the R-115SW compare to it.
Two of my go to DEMO movies, Aquaman and Infinity War :) But as far as subwoofers go - I am very happy with my dual R-115SW's (Well they were free - you know the story with those). I placed my dollars on an external amplifier instead, an Emotiva XPA amp :)
Dual RSW-15’s are beast
I had 2 of the r115's, they rocked my house like no tomorrow. im gonna get dual pb4000's this time!
Sweet!
I haven’t heard the PB4000 but have heard nothing but rave reviews on them. If you do purchase them and use my affiliate link in the description, I would be grateful.
@@Youthman did you set yours up yet?
Great! I was also waiting for this comparison video. Thank you, Youthman. Looks like the PB-3000 is the way to go! But, if you can do the video comparing two R-115SW's against the SVS, that'll be sweet.
There’s always another video I could do. Just a matter of finding the time 😀
This experience is why I favor one better sub over two at equivalent price. Even with two of the Klipsch you would have the same problems. More even room response? Maybe.
You would gain 3dB by adding a second sub and better room response (if placed in the correct location) but still might not get the same impact.
And you'll probably still have chuffing. Unless the subs are in the same location stacked, you likely won't see a 3 db gain across the board either. Mostly levels the response a bit as the response from the separate locations will be different.
Interesting. I was always under the impression that adding a sub yield 3dB Gain. Stacking yields 6dB.
Tends to work more clearly that way in car audio though! Not typically a sub in the trunk and another on the dash.
I am much more interested in the sb3000. I am considering two of those for my new theater setup.
Brian, you have my permission to order them. Link is in the description 😂
I’m looking forward to seeing what this little guy can do.
How about pb 4000
Good comparison man! SVS has got it right with their subs... Nothing but positive reports on them.
And be careful, they may be calling you to be the next Thor if you keep that sorta stuff up in your videos!
😜
Haha I highly doubt I’ll be receiving any phone calls from Marvel
I miss the 115 sometimes for his looks. But the svs 4000 is alot better . I know that 😜 reference levels . Imax levels are no problem 😜
Yeah I have t heard the PB4000 but I can’t imagine the R-115SW hanging with it
Another great video. I smile when i hear great sound. Picture too. But. You gotta try the aquarium scrne in aquaman.
all the best
M.
Check out Bumblebee chapter 2 as well...
Hi Youthman, Excellent your comparison, thanks for sharing it, and what can you tell me to compare a PB3000 Vs HSU Research VTF 15H?
I have not heard the VTF 15H yet
So yeah, Aqua man is a long movie, it has LFE. Another great movie for LFE referencing is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom!! Watch the trailer and let me know what you think. My wife mentioned hearing our system as she was pulling into the garage with this trailer. I smiled. I'm only running 2x 12" subs with maybe +/- 3db 21Hz. But yes, please let me know what you think on JR:Fallen Kingdom trailer.
This is a weird question but can you get trailers in 4K blu-ray quality? TH-cam just sounds trash
Bak Oe very true. I wonder if it's because 4K data with 96KHz audio uses most space on the disc.
Always coming out with these sick videos! Checked out the Thor scene in Infinity War on my 4 12"s omgosh...
Thanks. It will certainly give your subs a workout
@@Youthman OH yes, and because they are car subwoofers taking up to 2,300 watts; the flex on them is insane.
And here I am with my Velodyne 10" 350w thinking that puts out ok bass for movies...
Think I'm missing out on the good stuff..
I rocked my Velodyne CT-100 for a few years, then F1500, then HGS15, then dual HGS15’s, then switched to Klipsch RSW15, then 2, then 3, then 4 RSW-15’s and now Dual SVS PB16’s. Each upgrade was significant.
@@Youthman Mine is the Velodyne CHT-10Q
The amp died around 18 months ago so I replaced it with the Yung SD300-6 300W plate amp from Parts Express.
Gotcha. My HGS15’s were about 10 years old and my Klipsch RSW-15’s were around 15 yrs old.
I think my RE Audio XX15 V2D2 hooked to my Crown K2 amp might have these beat? lol
hmmmm
Hi bro in price categorie which is better
As always you videos are great. Have you seen Spider-Man into the spider-verse? That movie has Baaaasssss!. BTW the PB 3000 is THUNDERLICIOUS!
Thank you. I have not seen it but my son said it was fantastic.
What did you get that shirt? I like it!
World Wide Stereo
Youthman cool!
im jonesing on the PB3K.
Please do it
