  • For a Short Time, TIG Fingers are on Sale at weldmongerstor...
    Visit my store at weldmongerstor... for TIG cup Kits, TIG Fingers, Gloves, DVDs, and other quality welding tools. New products being added weekly.
    A Tig Finger® is like having a prop in your pocket.
    Sometimes you need to prop on an area that gets really hot.
    You know what I am talking about.
    You are gritting your teeth trying to finish the bead but you know if you hang in there 2 more seconds the blisters are coming.
    The original TIG finger® is made from heat treated material and is smooth as glass.
    100% asbestos free
    100% Awesome.
    The Tig Finger XL is thicker and bigger and most welders can fit 2 fingers in the XL for those really hot jobs like preheated castings and thick aluminum.

    I bought two of these while I practice in school because the fingers I use to hold the torch and my fingers for my filler rod hand were burning up. These do in fact stop the heat, I feel nothing. But having to return them because my fingers are too small, even for the regular size, and the tig finger just doesn't stay put on them. Even when I put in two fingers, I'm constantly having to fiddle with keeping them on my fingers. Some sort of strap to secure them in place would be ideal.

  • @christophercastor6666
    @christophercastor6666 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    This product, The Tip Finger, is fantastic; especially for someone like me with reduced sensation in my fingers. I often burn myself without realizing it, and the consequences last for weeks while reducing my productivity.
    Tig fingers keep your digits dexterous, doing what you love, and downright safe.

  • @patrickfarley8036
    @patrickfarley8036 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey Jody, I have an off topic question to ask and I'm hoping you will help me, please.
    I remember a video you did where you talk about times when you don't know the exact series of stainless you're repairing and there was one tig filler rod you suggested is best for those times.
    I can't find that video and I'm running out of time for this repair so would you please tell me which rod you suggested?
    The repair is a on a boat and has very little if any magnet pull. What little corrosion there is has the most pull which again is negligible. I'm thinking 304 but since this part is a boat yard fab, one off item there's no way to trace it.
    Back on topic. I received a Tig Finger set for Christmas and I'm loving them! They are way more versatile than I thought!
    I wish Santa got them sooner! 😉
    Thanks very much Jody, stay safe!

    Any videos on the CK tig machine you sell as far as longevity? thanks

    • @NickFrom1228
      @NickFrom1228 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's CK I'd bet its good, though I have not got my hands on one to examine. Another brand that is not as well known but is quite good is HTP (which is Italian). They are sold in the US through USAWeld. I don't consider all the chinese welders unless I'm looking for something cheap that I'm willing to risk breaking. I went head to head with an everlast (if I recall correctly, it's been a few years) marketer about design quality and professionalism. He was a real di#$head and finally decided to just write me off as not knowing anything about electronics and design, so at that point I revealed I was an electrical engineer. He just stopped at that point. The main thing I've seen is that the chinese welders are divided into two categories. Junk and those that are better. Everlast etc are getting better every year and as long as they can keep on top of quality assurance they will do well. You can tell the junk ones, just look at price for your first indicator. You can't produce something of quality and not have it cost more. It doesn't account for design and workmanship but it's a good start.

    I do MAG welding. (Pretty much same as MIG but different gas etc) MAG is already quite hard for me personally. TIG just seems like a whole different thing. My hands are not that stable so holding the torch in one hand and the wire in the other seems imposible. For me atleast. Do you personally think it is a matter of practice or do you think it just is not cut out for everyone ?

    • @GotTheJuiceGG
      @GotTheJuiceGG 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an old comment but as someone who just switched from mig to tig at a new job, it's all about getting your reps in. You'll find yourself uneasy and shaky at first but improve over time with various tricks you'll learn.

    Hi, Jody, I have a major question. How do you record or video what you are welding? I just got a GoPro and I don't know what would be good for videoing the welds themselves to be able to see what I'm doing or for showing others how to do them. You always do a good job with showing others the welds and puddles in your welds and I want to get really good at it, just like you.

    Hello everyone. I was just wondering if anyone have got some experience with DIEVAR. We had an argument about it with our welding technology guy a.k.a. self proclaimed welder king at work. I didn't feel comfortable about welding it "just like that" (no preheat, heat treatment or whatever the Uddeholm suggest). And also I really wasn't OK with using ER70S-3 rod for it. He said it's ok. It will be sent back eventually when there will be leaks or something. It's mould for automotive company, they are sending quite a lot of theese to be repaired (leaks, cracks, etc.). I suggested to do all the procedures according to suggestion of the Uddeholm, but... I was told I'm the only one who cares. So I didn't weld it... that technology guy did and guess what. It's leaking water when under pressure. Only thing I was suggesting was to read some papers about it to understand how to do the whole procedure and don't f it up.
