I took a 2002 Duramax truck radiator and a Duramax van air to air and turned them on their side and mounted then to a fabricated core support in front of the dodge fan and clutch on the 12 Valve. Goes almost all the way up to the hood but works really well om my 52 6400. I pull heavy with a compound turbos and it never gets hot.
Thank you, John! My battery leads and connections came today and I ordered the complete wiring harness this morning. In the morning I’m driving an hour and a half to pick up some old truck mirrors with perfect patina. Little by little😉
Huge progress. Those wheel wells are beautiful. The bed is going to look amazing. You won't know if the 1 degree in the driveshaft alignment is problematic until you get her on the road, so, hurry up and get her fired up and rolling down the road. Thanks for the video.
Man...looks like you're busier now that you retired from your everyday job! Seeing your progress on the truck is awesome. I appreciate you taking time to film and edit this process. Thanks for bringing me along.
Thank you! It’ll definitely be something to keep an eye on but with the wheel size and gearing, I’m not as concerned as if I were running an overdrive setup with short rear end gears. I’m hoping it doesn’t spin fast enough to matter.
Its coming together lovely now, always a good sign and feel8ng when you can put some paint on. Certainly going to be a mean machine, carry on the great work and look forward to the next installment.
Not that difficult when you have passion, tools, talent, and time. Oh yeah maybe years and years of practice and developing skills and problem solving. Wait a couple more things might be needed a place to work and loads of coin to complete such a badass project. Other than that easy peasy. Lol. I don’t have any of those. 🤣. Glad I found this channel!!
@@NorthwestSawyer You’re very welcome! Aren’t we all waiting for our ships to come in?! The average TH-cam consumer has zero idea of the obstacles legit fabricators without huge corporate sponsorship go through. Currently building a Triumph 2 wheeler and the thousands upon thousands of dollars and setbacks a body encounters along the way is somewhat frustrating but will yield favorable results. If it takes 5 minutes to do then anyone can do it and it becomes mundane. Bravo to you and your perseverance.
Amazing progress love the inner fender changes really makes it pop oh yeah comment and a dad joke. What word does everyone pronounce wrong? Why WRONG of course but you'll get a wide variety of answers like aluminum, croissant, etc. Have fun with it 😅. Stay safe out there with that skidding you are doing and see you next time.
Great build... I've got a 72 Chevy K20 with a Cummins 6BT swap and have never regretted the decision to go that route. I really like how it's coming together, but would really suggest that you fishplate the back-end Z-notch transitions over the axle. With the back end of the bed bouncing on that extra-long bed you really wouldn't want to have a crack in the frame around or at the welds.
Jason, I think you need a 'clone' for all the stuff you have goin on! I know you enjoy it all, logging - milling - Lazer printing - wood working- fabrication, should I go on? cause it's all amazing with what you but... Sheesh! Oh yeah,. forgot to mention... Juggling!
I just watched your build series on this, if you need to space the front wheels out some. Get you some 2001-2010 chevy 3500HD dually hub extensions. Those allowed the dually style wheels to be ran on on a 3/4 ton. Wouldn't have to extend the a-arms then. I used them on my 82 c10 dually conversion.
Really cool build Jason. I noticed that you have left most of the frame without endcaps. Here in New York State, I need to weld end caps onto hollow members to prevent corrosion, is that something that you don't have to worry about there? There is something satisfying about welding components, such as shocks, to a frame and deciding where they need to go with the proper clearance to work. Great video thumbs up.
Thank you, Craig! I agree. I assume they salt the roads there? That isn’t the case for most of Oregon. They’re trying to start using salt on certain roadways but have met a lot of resistance.
Thank you! If I could find one that matched the rest of the truck I’d definitely do it. I found a perfect set of mirrors for it that will be in the next video if I can ever get it finished😂
Your quality editing makes the video's fun to follow and enjoy. The end of the driveline which goes into the transmission (yoke?) looks like it should have a rubber boot or sleeve or whatever the correct terminology is. Otherwise, won't water and dirt follow the yoke? Obviously I'm not a mechanic. 😇
You should always put the fat part of the shock towards the road I would want that little rod exposed I’d rather have it protected under the body great build tho
Jason, re shock installation: Were the upper shock mounts that were 'meant' for these shocks inappropriate for your installation ? Why did you have to get mounts that required modification ? Over all, i see an absolute amount of personal capability, much admired on my part....
lol paint the u-joint straps ... been waiting for you to get back to this . love the air ride, im building a prototype trailer with air ride what bags did you use ?
Looking good, Jason. I know this is something I would never attempt. And by the way, why did you spread those metal chips out on your bench instead of sweeping them off lol? Bill
I'm very excited to see you build bag 50 Dually Truck sir.
This is gorgeous watching you work and wield and but this beautiful machine together!!
Just want I needed at 4:30 am with my first cup of coffee-truck is coming along great!
I guess it’s slightly better than watching concrete dry?😂

@@NorthwestSawyer I will take a bunch of pictures of the truck and send them to your email.
@@witcher71 great! Thank you!
That truck is looking SWEEEEEEEEET!! GREAT JOB!!
Thank you!
Outstanding Jason! Anxious to see more. As you know, I have a soft spot for old Chevy's.

I know, I know!😂 I ordered a wiring harness and battery cables today. Little by little…. I’ll be broke😬
Keep em coming, especially the long ones😊.
Best Regards

I have a lot of parts ordered!

My pleasure, John! It’s really starting to take shape.
That dog knows to stay outside well out of harm’s way 😂.
A man of many talents. Good job!
Thank you!
Nice progress on your truck Jason … you’re nearing 50K man. 😎!
Thank you! I’m creepin’ along😬
Looking forward to more.
Nice work looking forward to seeing it finished
You and me both!😉
Like it all Jason. Truck is looking great, lots of tedious work. 👍
Thank you!
That old truck looks cool as hell you're going to make the brand new trucks what the evil eye😅
Thank you! The new ones all look the same😉
Those inside wheelwells look nice! Like it way better than just a box!
Thank you! I think they were worth the extra effort.
Now that was interesting stuff to watch.
Thank you, Reg!
Great work. I said it before love your multi-faceted channel!
Thank you!
I'm loving this. I would not worry about the errant degree but balance could be an issue.

Thank you! That’s high on my list! I’m even considering doing a complete back-half frame build. There’s a lot of things I’d like to do differently.
Jason! Another cool truck build video.
Hey, how about a playlist for this build? I'd like to recommend it to a friend. 😊
Thank you! That’s an excellent idea. I’ve been meaning to do that. I’m on it!😉
Doing a great job 👏
Thank you, Mark!
You know I love all your videos but that truck is the “shit”. My dream man!!
Thank you, Mike! It’s really motivating to see it coming together.
Best vid I've seen for a long time. Not that I don't enjoy the others but man that is fun to watch

@@NorthwestSawyer Thats great but you will get it eventually
I just got a 63 c10 and found your channel
Awesome! Welcome to the show😉
Looks great, though I wonder if you have enough support at your frame splices. Seems to me you should have some fish plates over those joints.
Thank you! You are correct. I’m going to box the frame and tie all
Those pieces together.

It’s pretty hard to see but there’s a rubber grommet and a yoke seal that keep everything out and the oil in.
You Heli Arc everything ? (maybe it's wire feed and I can't tell ) I have done that regardless of the metal... nice job today.. good progress
Thank you! I was using my wire feed to weld and plasma torch for some of the cutting.
Just a heads up you installed your shocks upside down. The drum is supposed to be on the bottom side.

Jason, re shock installation: Were the upper shock mounts that were 'meant' for these shocks inappropriate for your installation ? Why did you have to get mounts that required modification ?
Over all, i see an absolute amount of personal capability, much admired on my part....
The shock mounts I bought were “universal”. They didn’t come with those shocks. I assumed they were all the same size.

I know!!!😂😂😂 I have Slam Specialties on the back. 8” I believe.
31:57 do I detect a slight grin when you say, “A bunch more welding.”? 😉
Maybe more of a grimace😬
31:15 I'm looking at the bench on the left and thinking to myself...When did Milwaukee come out with an M18 ratchet. I need better glasses.
It’s an M12 with the bigger battery😉
👍👍😁😁

It was supposed to be a magnetic brush. I want my money back😬

Patina or Paint ????
Patina!
Did you see how Fab Rats build his old Chevy Truck
I did see a few videos of their build but I haven’t looked lately.
@@NorthwestSawyer ya it runs n drives now n they are going to install the Rollback Bed on it
Ware do I find a chop off saw blade like that
Anywhere, really. I got that one at Home Depot but you can’t use it on saws designed for abrasive blades. That saw runs at a lower RPM.
