I’m with you on the stagnant reads. I’ve read 170 books this year and at least 150 have been romance. Not a bad thing, but variety is much needed. Here for the pod! I think a mix of books and shows/movies would be great. This way you’re not pigeon holed into one genre or just books. Plethora of content available.
I’m so here for the IVF updates. I’m sure you’ve already had your retrieval, and I hope it went amazingly well! My frozen embryo transfer on October 29th was a success and I’ve got a little baby boy cooking 😀IVF is such a mental rollercoaster, but I have a good feeling about this for you and Haden. I am so here for a podcast with you two!! I think just media in general would be a good and fun idea for the podcast personally -- that way y'all aren't limiting yourself to just fantasy or just vampires or just xyz, it could be more broad spectrum with more specialized episodes!! Just my two cents, I'm going to happily listen to whatever it is that y'all put out!
I would definitely listen to a podcast of you too together! Honestly, you could just do different types of media. Sometimes books, sometimes tv shows/movies and you could alternate between stuff that you're interested in vs what Hayden is interested in or smthg

We started our IVF last year Oct. I only had two eggs and one embryo but it was still a success. Our son is now 4 months old. IVF can put a lot pressure on your mental health. Please look after yourself physically and mentally !! Sending you all the good vibes❤❤❤

Ashland is a super cute town! I went to a production of Midsummer’s Night Dream when I was 10 where all the fairies dressed in full 70s glam. Puck rocked impressively tall Go-Go boots. It made me love shakespeare! It’s just as cute and cozy of a town now. 10/10 would recommend visiting if you ever have the chance! (there’s a great bookstore and vintage shop filled with crazy costumes)

I feel like a lot of people said they rethought criticism of Babel, but I'm not white and my family is from (and some still live in) a country that was subject to colonialism and I feel the same way about after Yellowface. RF Kuang, imo, was definitely personally responding to criticism of Babel in Yellowface and while I thought it was deranged and amazing, I feel like the main criticism of Babel from many who were whelmed by it is still valid.
A podcast with both your picks would be fun. Maybe take turns? I wanna get to know Haden's reading taste too. If not, just explore his taste a little more. I had fun getting to know yours and I am glad you are more acquainted with yours now.
Have you read mistborn? It is also Brandon Sanderson and I think a lot of people start there. A little less intimidating to way of kings. I also really love strange the dreamer if you haven’t read that!
I'VE GOT IT! Your youtube channel focuses on reading volume and sassy list videos (and vlogs obv) that are longer-ish 30-45min. The podcast is fantasy. It's lead by Hayden but it's deep dives and detailed discussions about small sections of a book. Maybe 1 chapter per episode or even less. It is also a shorter form of content 20-30min. That way Chandler doesn't have to read a lot of volume of the books she doesn't prefer and Hayden will be able to ramble to his heart's content! His lower reading volume won't matter because you will be doing short sections of a book and you can use books he has already read that Chandler has not. Shorter episode length means you can record several episodes in one sitting and edit it into multiple podcasts, potentially able to post more than once per week if that's your jam.
I think we should have a dumb b, book club, and a smart b book club… where the dumb b books arent necessary for dumb b words, or Dumb in general.. the smart books can be just sci-fi and fantasy, which are supposedly “smart” but not always

Fertility tip: after implantation of the embdyp avoid hot bath and showers, even exercising, keep body temp at normal.
