As good as this looks.. and it does look fantastic. The popping off of the smallest particles is a real bummer. Sometime I wonder if Houdini just isn't cut out for micro precision.

Did you use houdini surface tension and at which scale you worked your explotion??
Yes, and i think it was around 1 to 2 Houdini unit scale

How you did aviod fluid strips? I always have problem with strips of liquid not seperating into drops quickly
Try with different scene scale and play with different surface tension values

How did you do the custom velocity?
It'll be a velocity attribute on a set of points, randomize the attribute direction with the force being applied to the flip sim
