Explicando a situação:
Este canal começou em 2015 e se chamava "Day Trader Pro". Eu, Rafael Iasi, estava na minha busca pessoal pela consistência no Day Trade e resolvi compartilhar as coisas que aprendia, construindo este canal aos poucos, com conteúdos de Tape Reading, Market Profile, entrevistas com traders internacionais e ETC... Tudo que publiquei, foi porque eu realmente acreditava e praticava à época da publicação!
Porém, em meados de 2013 (após praticamente 10 anos de Day Trade e 8 anos de canal) minhas crenças mudaram, minha visão do Day Trade mudou e resolvi mudar também o nome do canal e o tipo de conteúdo. Resumindo:
Hoje não acredito que nenhuma forma de análise do mercado possa trazer um "Edge" e penso que o Day Trade NÃO é uma habilidade que se consiga desenvolver com consistência, devido à natureza extremamente inconstante (aleatória?) do mercado financeiro. Uma grande mudança, não é?
Então, se você quiser conhecer mais sobre essa minha visão atualizada e por que eu penso assim hoje, me acompanhe seguindo vídeos mais recentes. Estarei respondendo nos comentários e lá podemos conversar.

@@TraderCetico Thanks. I attended several workshops and a retreat with Peter in the '80's so I am pretty familiar with the early Market Profile work. I am most interested in how he has adapted to the evolution of the relationships of price/volume/time. As he points out here, the way the market operates has changed.... fundamentals haven't but with the locals gone so are the extremes where you could park a position and buy time to watch value develop.
For example, Peter used to say you should never use stops because rotation would take you out. Now, an order is distributed through price movement.... without stops, you get killed!

Would this be related to volume spread analysis? Divergence in volume vs price action, for example, in chart analysis, a long candle breaking through an area of support/resistance with a small bar on the volume histogram indicating a false breakout/breakdown. Whereas if it both were long bodied, may signify confirmation?
Not really. More relevant for volume profiles.

Which book is good for market profile.
@44:50 the way i here what he is saying is that in todays market we have market makers that say they are for price discovery but with all the payment for order flow going on it seems like they would be taking 50% discovery and we (retail traders ) would be the ones taking the 100% discovery... so why do we need them to manipulate price anymore? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
I haven't seen the whole video yet, haven't had the time. But I have read Steidlmayers book about the market profile. Here are a couple of thoughts on what you wrote, based on what Steidlemayer says, and how he defines things. Price discovery happens when the market moves away from value to discover new value (what people call a trending move). This happens when the market moves out of an established balance area. The value that was accepted in that value area has been rejected, and the market is now moving to discover a new value. It keeps moving in a trending manner until it shuts off the buying/selling.
The short term traders (day traders) are the ones that trade within the balance area, within value. They don't have the capital to move the market out of current value (pretty obvious when you think about it. Day traders reacting to price movements/patterns can't change the opinion of actual value). The longer term traders (market makers, the institutions) are the ones that move the market directionally. They do this when the opinion of value has changed (because of news events or market developments). When their opinion of value has changed, the market goes into distribution mode/price discovery mode.
Why we "need" the big players to move markets is simply because they have the big bucks. Your 1 million doesn't matter when somebody else has 100 billion. They trade when the opinion of value has changed. If it hasn't changed, they react to the unfair price and buy/sell at the bottom/top of the balance area. If the top of the balance area is 100, the bottom is 50 (what Steidlmayer calls the unfair price), and the value area is, say, 60-70, and then the price dropps down to 53, without there being a different opinion of an actual VALUE change, you can best believe that the longer term traders will be buying at that unfair low price. In other words, it's not time for price discovery yet. The opinion of value has not changed, and the price won't be moving away from value/into discovery mode, but will rather resume the distribution inside the balance area. The longer term traders/market makers/institutions won't let it move away.
