Come join us anchored off Isla Conchaguita and Isla Meanguera as we explore the small fishing villages and hike through the lush tropical forests. We have a bit of an adventure dragging anchor when the weather changes, find the Port Captain to complete our check in procedures, and take part in local seafood festival.

HORNY BASTARD it’s not that bad as it’s portrayed in the news, that was one of the reasons that kept me from not visiting for over 15 years; even dough all of my friends who never stopped going once or twice at year, told me that it wasn’t as the news portrayed it. My husband and I finally decided to go in 2017 and We really had an awesome time. Crimes happens as in every other countries.

Thank you for sharing! I spend my childhood and teen years fishing the Bay of La Union and the islands of El Golfo de Fonseca. I grew up in Port of La Unión in the 70s & 80s. And despite the war that afflicted our beautiful country, I always felt I was living in a very special corner of the world. I have lived in the US since 1988 and raised a family there. I saw this video for the first time in early December 2021 right me and my 17 y/o son went to visit. He had never been and thought it was a magical place! Thank you for making me think of my childhood through this video! Big fan!!!

I have driven (helm, lee helm, and other watches) a USN CRUISER off the coast of El Salvador in the 1980s. We had to patrol a long narrow box only a few miles offshore. My understanding was that we were primarily using the ship's powerful RADAR systems to monitor all air traffic in the area. A rumor was that the USSR was trying to sneak MiG-21s into Nicaragua. The landscape was breathtakingly beautiful, and the general consensus was that it would be paradise, IF IT WASN'T FOR THE PEOPLE LIVING THERE. The government was hopelessly corrupt, and there was a civil war, with several factions, mostly rival socialists, trying to seize control. It is really jarring to be admiring beaches, clear water, lush jungles, and beach houses, and then see things start blowing up, apparently from artillery fire.

Discover El salvador is not dangerous like the media say it's come and see with you own eyes that here in El salvador we are very humble,welcoming tourist and we live very calm with not crime like other countries curse we have some bad places but you know that you need to keep far from those places that are not secure every country have bad things and good things never believe to de fullest everything media say about specific country go your self and see what is true or whats not come to El salvador dont be afraid we are very friendly people
Well said Guillermo, every place has the good and the bad and we shouldn't be scared away from the always negative news or we would miss the beautiful sights. Remember the news does not do well if it only shows beautiful beaches and towns, we enjoyed our time in El Salvador and thank you for the welcome.

You are not gonna believe this, when i was in 4th grade elementary, we had to take a geography class of central america. When we were studying what gulfs were. We come to study the Gulf of Fonseca. I was intrigued by knowing that in that little gulf, 3 little frontiers come together. Nicaragua, Honduras an ES. I always wanted to see how it was. Now im seeing it. Im from Guate.

Merry Christmas Ty, Hillary and Emily from hot, sunny Canberra Australia. I would never have guessed the El Salvador coast was so nice. You hear lots of stories about the bad security situation there but everyone looks relaxed where you are.
Ben Coles El Salvador is a beautiful country and yes there’s bad places in it but for the tourists it is pretty safe
For the most part you can visit most countries that are often on government do not travel lists, of course exercising caution and be aware of your surroundings, anywhere has bad parts to avoid at certain times. Right now I think all of or a very large part of Mexico is under a USA government warning, our opinion is these are all pretty safe for the traveller especially if you do not go looking for drugs, etc.
