You definitely have a very special feel to your channel!
There's a lot like this on yt, still amazing tho
This video is so well put together. You are a very talented young woman!!! I wish I was ambitious at that age... heck even now.
My advise would be start doing things without thinking
only critisism is keeping all the audios near the same decibel level
She identifies as a man.
From professional filmmaker to professional carpenter, she does it all😂. Regardless, I can so relate to her being such a perfectionist and being so disconnected as well as having abandonment issues. Also,I can actually see a new style in your videos developing throughout this series and I cant wait to see how much you ll improve in your storytelling and where this series would go💙😆Loved the video Natalie!!
She is Amazing❤️

As someone who's 21 and built his own van. It took a lot of time, effort, money and patience to do it. I did it myself without any of my parents money or help. Seeing a 19 year old remodeling a whole van is wild. The amount of time, effort, money, and patience put in to the van must be crazy. I can't even image it. Great job Natalie, we're proud of you and I'm sure your proud of yourself. I hope your happy with your work :)
Having something to call "your life savings" at 19 is impressive already. Shit, I come from a country so economically undeveloped, I don't have anything like that at 30.
Let’s be real she’s on your level. Y’all are basically the same age and the women figure shit out first.
@@swamp-yankee that’s pretty sexist
@@Personalaccount730 isnt it true that women mature 2 years faster than men? i heard one of my teachers say it in an assembly before, and it shows pretty obviously in school idk tho.
even if its not its not a sexist thing to say. its not implying figuring shit out first or second is worse or better, its just saying that women tend to do it first. nothing sexist about it
@@seaof_stars Puberty. Women have puberty earlier.
did anyone notice how in the last ep, the music stopped with the slam of the van door, and in the beginning of this one, the music started with the slam? its little details like these that make her videos SO satisfying to watch as a film major. also, brown and green are your trademark colours now, i don't make the rules.
omg good eye!
But is there something more than that?
came for the van renovation, stayed for the philosophical takeaway: in life, progress will often look like you are stalling or even going backwards... until there's a breakthrough and everything comes together beautifully and you realize you were making progress all along. Trust the process
lol
😂😂 i wish, if it feels like you are going backwards, you probably are
I love how you’re so honest with the struggles of building your van. Most people don’t talk about that. Gives people a false impression sometimes that things might be easy. But your honesty and vulnerability makes this video unique and so special.
I am sitting my daughter down to watch this as soon as she gets home from school. You are what our young ladies need to see more of. You are such an inspiration, and that comes from a 53 year old father.

The polaroids, Life is Strange's music, the van and the beautiful trips you will do with it...it's all awesome and just like a dream. I am happy for you because you live your life to the fullest. And you have some great music taste too! Cheers from Italy

Does anyone have the specific music used from the Life Is Strange OST? I know their music is great such as Jose Gonzalez - Crosses used in this vid, but it’s hard to find these other songs specifically
This is probably some of the most inspirational and moving coming of age story yet. you rock mate and definitely would be your friend !
TH-cam has been feeding me this video for almost a year and i didn´t want to watch it because at the time i was kinda fed up with van restoration/renovation/conversion... but after a year of seeing that thumbnail i decided to watch the video... and boy am i glad i did, i freaking loved this video, i loved your style, your voice, the editing, everything... i now understand why youtube was recommending me this video... congratulations on Spiffy, it turned out amazing... now i´ll go ahead and binge watch your entire channel
That "Now I'll go ahead and binge watch your entire channel" part is so relatable!
This feels weird to say but, I think this is one of the best youtube videos ever made. The cinematography, the movie feeling, the feeling I get just watching it is inexplainable. I know you'll never see this natalie but amazing job.

"before I can actually see things come together visibly, I have to strip everything I don't want because I need to make room for all the new stuff I want to put in." This is a great analogy about life in general. You have to let go of the things that you don't want in your life so that you can make room for the things you do want. You're amazing! putting yourself up to do this at the age of 19 and seeing you struggle and grow is so inspiring! Thanks for making the video
When you said about taking another path than most people, that hit hard. As a 29 year old, I've done that my whole life where it's hard to feel like you fit in anywhere. Congrats on all your hard work!

this is so insane?!?! those months of isolation and persistence must've felt so discouraging but you still continued to work your hardest for it even if you've never done something like it before and that's just- you're so fucking cool, natalie. the van looks so so awesome. and as always the film is wonderful! hoping all the best for you sincerely
Great job Natalie!!! I'm a 69 year old who after dealing with cancer 3 times, AND WINNING, decided a few years ago to acquire "Vanessa" a 1987 Ram campervan. I took things slow as not able to do as much as fast as I would like, lol. Like you, I went through all the struggles to complete the reno, and I'm so proud of all the new skills I learned along the way. So I'm not afraid to try something, and I'm very proud of you and your accomplishments :) Each day is a new day, so put your shine on and welcome each new adventure in your life
Wishing you the best take it one day at a time good luck
This is insane how homey and just so aesthetically pleasing you've made the van, the hard work 1000% paid off in the end. You've done an incredible job with it! Can't wait to see what journeys you get up to in this van now!
I started crying when I heard you talking about feeling isolated while choosing untraditional ways to live this life. That's so personally relatable. Also I admire you do much you're one of the coolest people I saw!
She makes us feel like we're watching a movie that we wish to be in the movie.
spot on
Very inspiring! I have to create a film like this, as have a story to tell as well. Thanks for the inspiration, Natalie!
Protip for securing items while you are moving in a clean way: buy some strong magnets and a sheet a metal. Install the magnets on the bottom of items and put the sheet of metal (make sure you buy a type that magnets are attracted to) just under the top surface of the counter. A thin sheet of wood laminate would work perfectly on top of it and you would get to keep the wood aesthetic.
This was incredible!! 🙌🏼 Very inspiring to see you working hard on the project, wish you the best experiences. I’ll be watching 🔥
"Even if things are seemingly not progressing to an end goal, not all progress has to look or feel linear. Before I can actually start seeing things come together visibly, I kind of have to strip everything out that I don't want... because I have to make room for all of the new stuff I want to put in" -- such a fitting quote for the project, and for life in general. You are wise beyond your years, Natalie. ♥
unbelievable and I really admire ur patience and the power of execution
Whoa. The storytelling in this video is 🔥 Great work and excited for you!
I love how you’re not over romanticising this project, making it look like a Pinterest dream, but actually showing the hard work both physically and mentally, and still making it inspiring! I’m the same age as you but far from being as much independent (a lot because I serve in the army, not by my choice but because it’s a duty where I live) and this well made video definitely brought me hope that one day I’ll create for myself the life I want just like you do by hard work & tons of motivation! Keep on with the great content❤️
This is what you call a TH-cam classic… you can rewatch many times and not get bored, the editing is great
Not only are you living your dream but you are living a lot of ours! There is always time to make more money, but there is not more time to live your dreams. Always do what you need for your soul so you will have no regrets. So much life to live at your young age. Do not waste a second doing what the world tells you to do! Stay blessed
you summed up all of my mental battles of 2020&2021 in this one sentence:
“Before I can actually start seeing things come together, like, visibly, I kinda have to strip everything out that I don’t want because I have make room for all the new stuff I want to put in.”
Thank you for putting into words what I've been struggling to grasp for the last two years. You moved me to tears. So proud of you.
As a young kid with dreams that seem pretty similar to yours, this is so inspiring :) thank you so much for being so real and open about the whole project, rather than making it seem like an effortless, fancy “makeover”. I’ve never seen your channel before, but your editing style, and real-life chats are so amazing and down-to-earth. Thank you again
Yes, I agree. I'm fourteen and have similar van life aspirations
One of the most talented storytellers on this platform without a doubt.
i relate so much when you said that you find it hard to relate to people because you are going down on your path. I'm 21, and still struggling to fully embrace myself and discovering what i actually really want in life. but I'm very happy that you are find your liking and able to embrace it and keep going. now, the results has been gotten with the borderless series. seriously, you are an amazing inspiration to me. to me, in this society where young people are told what to do, you decide to find your own path and walk on it. i think that's amazing. i believe, many people have you as their inspiration too. thank you natalie, i am very happy for you. hope you keep doing what you love! we would love to see more of your content.
holy shit, my sister in christ, the production value is crazy. the camera angles in this video are crazy good, the editing is absolutely top tier, the way you present yourself in front of a camera comes off as super natural and genuine. what camera did you use for this vid?

I can't believe you restored that van all by yourself with no prior knowledge of the huge pain it is to pull that off. I restored a small trailer years ago and I have years of construction background and it was a ton of work. And you painted the van too?!! You are an incredible video maker and an impressive person. I look forward to watching the adventures you share of your journey. Good job!

It doesn't matter how expensive or luxurious it may be, the important thing is that you do it with love and your project with love, I loved seeing a woman super determined to achieve her dream, thank you for sharing the great work you achieved 😱😇
I love how you made this 19 minutes long, with a 19 years olds van experience. It’s quite intriguing and lovely 💕

Amazing videos ♥️♥️
Figure out what you want. Break it down into tiny steps that are definitely achievable. And before you know it your wish will be reality.
@@Myke_thehuman Honestly I just want to leave everything behind and go start a life elsewhere.. I don't want to waste 7 to 11 years of my life studying , constantly in stress , just to get a job praised by everyone else and to make my fam proud. When I say that I'm ready to leave everyone behind I mean it , so why do I fear becoming a disappointment and always worry what others will think/ how they will view me?
A new country , new look , new name and a new life... A chance to be reborn that is all.
The only aspect that makes this but a mere dream is the realistic one , no money means no freedom , running away is futile as you'll end up homeless , penniless and regret every choice you've made , so back to square one but now it's a lot worse. I fear having no degree and no money will mean working long hours for little money , not even enough to live yet alone start over elsewhere. Shit's so depressing.

I've been recently thinking a lot about living in a boat, as someone young with not a lot of money it's a big risk but also feels like the only moment in life I will be able to do this. I liked her videos before this, but this video is showing me a pretty cool kickass personality, buying a van, and doing a monumental task of renewing it by yourself, thats pretty awesome for a person her age!
"Its always the darkest before the dawn" is such a cliche phrase but is also so true. And this is a good example. I'm nearly 10 years your senior having lived a hard life and watching your progression from "I went on an adventure alone", to your "I became everything I ever wanted" video to now has been an inspiring experience of what taking charge of your life and destiny can be. How sad that for a lot of people this won't be a fun project, but an actual place to live, instead of a house or an apartment. It should be alongside that not instead of.

@@nenadbelegisanin7904 how is it sad?😂
@@nenadbelegisanin7904 It's not sad. Just because some people choose to live differently than you would doesn't mean they're living worse. Everyone is different and that means their wants and needs are different.

I think you didn't just buy this van, you also created Spiffy.
I remember there was an academic term called "delayed enjoyment", which means that you don't care if you can finish the task or not, but you finish it step by step and then you feel happy when you finish the task.
I think you nailed it! It's lonely on the road, but you've done so much on your own, and I'm sure it's an unforgettable experience for you, too.

Great job renovating, and the thoughts on how it's a project of trust in yourself especially when growing up in distrustful environments. Most people won't see this way of life but that's fine, it's awesome for certain people. Everything said about it being like a refuge, pushing past perfectionist struggles lol, very true, I built a house in the woods when I was 20 and it was a similar feeling of - creating a bubble of sanity, discovery and self confidence.
I'm about to tackle a renovation of a houseboat I bought and it's daunting to say the least. You did such a phenomenal job that it's inspirational. To the next chapter, cheers!

Edit: Im not comparing myself. The amount of work put in to the van was wayyyy more work than my project. My point was I know what it's like to be young and do projects. But, again, her project was way way WAY more work then mine
hey! making your own kart sounds like a very cool project, im currently 16 as well, how would i be able to start learning about go karts and whatever, I want to make a go cart too!
@@hello-zq8ku not gonna lie, you can only do so much with a go kart. I chose to build an off road go kart. For my purposes I wanted to take it up to the trails up in the mountains, but the go kart just couldn't handle it. If you wanted to, you probably could build one. If you don't know what your doing it's not a bad idea to ask a parent. I have a lot of experience with tools so I had something to work off of. If you don't think you can build one after reading this, don't let me keep you from doing it. However It's not a bad idea to consider buying an atv, dirt bike, or mini bike, like me, which is what I ended up buying about 2 years after I build it
Can't believe you crossed over a renovation video in your style of films, impeccable storytelling, genuinely excited for this series

someday i’ll become as good a storyteller as you! fr your videos are just a blessing so keep living a fun life!
She is the most underrated TH-camr, her editing is incredible.
Natalie, you have become a huge inspiration in my life. Your determination to achieve your dreams is truly inspiring, and I will always appreciate how real you are in your films. You're not afraid to show the bad moments and all the imperfections life throws at you. Your videos have allowed me to believe that I can achieve my dreams too, and I will be forever grateful for that. Thank you for all you do, even if you don't realize it. Can't wait to watch your van-life journey unfold!
So proud of you for doing this!!! Creating something sustainable when you’re young is so special. Enjoy it ❤️ saving up now
I can’t explain how much this resonated with me , I built my van on all my own too and went through so many of the same emotions and no body really talks about it nor make it look so cinematic, so thank you for making me feel heard and inspired again. Keep being you 🫶
What an absolute genius girl you are! Excellent choice of van, excellent match of paint from the store, and what a nice little home you'll have on the road! There is nothing wrong with being independent! Be the kind of person people come to with problems, be the person who knows everything that people can rely on, be your own hero! Excellent video, thanks for posting it!
THIS IS SOOOO much more than a van build video...yo...I'm literally in tears. THANK you for being so vulnerable and sharing all this with us...I'm just so moved by this, and I am not usually like that haha just...thank you
I never realized how much I relate to you until this van series. This video has probably been my favorite of yours. Thank you for showing your struggles AND accomplishments. Love you, always!
Its beautiful. Ive always wanted to do what youve just gone and done! The wood finish, the delicious dark green and the atlas theme.... I really like your style. It's warm and refined. I love that vintage green you went for outside and that dark green strip that ties the outside colors in to the inside. Gorgeous makeover, you worked so hard
I have to say that I think you did an amazing job, I bought a full size rv back in the 1980's and did very little to it and had it for a couple of years then traded it for a mini van because I needed it for the family! I am a 67 year old man that is very proud of your job and I love all the GREEN!
The way you capture this whole experience. It brings more emotion than any other van build video I’ve watched. You make me want to give you a hug and say congratulations !!!!
9:27 love the life is strange ost
Just finished renovating my bus to live out of and I can 100% agree with everything you said in this video. Describes exactly how I felt the whole time. Nice to know even though we're going against the norm, other people understand how we feel.
I love this TH-cam subgenre of solo van building and van life
