Harvest 2023 Day 18

A break from the combine as we are redrill it some stubble turnips and forage rape. With the delayed harvest I wanted to try spinning (broadcasting) stubble turnips into the wheat before we harvested it. With the damp weather germination was good but then the slugs ate almost all of the seedlings before we could harvest and then treat with slug pellets and fertiliser. As a result the crop isn’t thick enough so we are drilling some more into the fields and hope they will survive the slugs are grow enough to feed the ewes and lambs in the winter. #johndeere #johndeeretractor #8370R #stubbleturnips #turnip #sheep 🐑🐑 #slugs
