    I use washing up liquid to remove the Biostrip and it works a lot more effectively than water, which tends to gum it up as you say

    Nice to see an old beetle face space marine again. I started with a box of those.

    A great little tutorial. I'm coming back to the hobby and got some old DA to strip and disassemble. That will definitely help as I never done that before.😁

    This is what I use Graham. In regards to people saying it melts models over time, I've had a adepta sororitas model in biostrip for about 6 months. I remembered it while watching this. Just got it out and scrubbed it. It's still perfect!

      It’s pretty awesome stuff isn’t it! Aww really? And that was just a normal GW model? I should have done a test thinking about it! 🤔 hindsight is 20/20 tho hahah! 🫠

    I tried it on warhammer figures and it was brilliant.

    Great video. I have used La's Totally Awesome and it works really good stripping paint off my minis. I buy it from Dollar Tree here in the states.

    Bio strip is very effective in removing paint from plastic AOS models. After dunking a model in it for 3 hours and then brushing it with a toothbrush, it strips away every paint layer and even the primer (changing the primer is handy if you want a change of colour, black primer doesn’t work well with yellow paint). However, Bio strip also dissolves the glue and I’ve had parts fall off many models, one part I can no longer find. Bio strip is also hard to remove from small recessed gaps and sometimes pools up in there, it looks like there’s sill some gunk in the hard to get places. It strips down to the bare plastic but it looks like the plastic is left a bit stained.

    ...Was it green underneath, ? or the surface colours combined...?

    i guess this is like the wilko paint stripper. its an absolute nightmare to get all the gloopy paint off, as soon as you tempt to put them in water they become a mess

    Wonder if this would eat through 3d Printed Minis

    • @BurntAquilaPainting

      I have some 3D printed resin, my have to do a test! Thanks for the idea man, a really good point! I’ve now been told, by 3 different people that GW plastic minis aren’t affected by this stuff so I wonder about the comparison🤔 thanks for the comment man!

    Use biostrip, scrub it into a goo then get an air tight container with an inner basket filled with 99% IPA and shake it. No more goopy mess

    I've been trying to find an equivalent in the United States. I've been looking at the SDS documents for different paint strippers here and I can't find any that quite match the OG Biostrip. If anyone knows of any that will work as a substitute, please let me know! (Not interested in other cleaning products like LA's totally awesome etc haha)

      Hey man, I’ve not tried the original Biostrip do u know if it differs from this stuff much? The reason I ask is because if not I believe (but also could be wrong) that u can get this in the US.
      Anyway thanks for the comment mate, and look forward to hearing your thoughts! 🙌🙂

      @@BurntAquilaPainting good question. I'm not entirely sure if it's the same stuff. I found this Dumond Smart Strip that I've ordered, ill give it a shot and report back. I've got a 40 bikes White Scars army to strip hahaha

    Right but in a sink if a piece of the model comes off it goes down the drain.

    • @notmenotme614

      I’ve had this after the bio strip dissolved the glue and parts fall off as I’m scrubbing models clean under a running tap.

  • @yormhammerson530

    But does it smell?

    • @notmenotme614
      @notmenotme614 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a slight smell from the cream but it’s perfume like. Very similar to how a cosmetic product smells and not harsh like dettol or methylated spirits. Once you rinse the biostrip off the model the smell goes.

    Just use Isoprpopyl alcohol. This looks messy.

    • @BurntAquilaPainting
      @BurntAquilaPainting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment mate! I’ve used ISO before as well as mentholated spirits and wasn’t a fan.
      But u do have a point, it can be quite messy when using a small pot like I did, hence I recommend in the video cleaning off in a sink. 🙂
