You mad, beautiful bastard! I was seconds (the browser tab is still up from blowing £20 at Greenstuff world for their rollers and postage. All I want, mummy, really, all I want is to make a few gas-mask connectors for my WW2 bolt action cheap heads to put to the bodies to give them the Krieg look. Just proxies but MY proxies. All the online tutorials were GSW rollers. And yes they do look great and would be great for a Mechanicus/Chaos maniac. But for 20 rolls and that's it? USE A COMB! ZOMFG! Such an obvious thing. I tested a minute ago with blu-tac. IT WORKS! I've subbed and I promise I'll look through your painting and basing tutorials. But 100% pat on the back for household improvisation. Like Tyler Duren and soap.

Question….. How do you not rage quit?! I mean, this just isn’t relaxing. It’s tense. I spent yesterday evening, trying to paint one of the Free cities of Sigmar steelHelms model. Personally, I don’t think you can actually teach this stuff, nor get better at it - at a certain level. I think there are some people clearly with very good eyesight, and an inhuman steadiness of hand. Because these models are fricking tiny, and trying to paint them, especially when they’re already assembled, forget it. I don’t know how your meant to reach the hard to get spots, without smudging other areas of the model. Then you have to go over it again. And then you smudge it again ….😡🤬 And then trying to apply the minor details. Honestly I have no idea how are you people do it. It’s impossible

I’m new to this hobby. I bought my boys, a bunch of Warhammer miniatures off eBay. I thought we could make a game based off the hero quest template. Which is a board game that I used to play as a kid in the 80s. Turns out, I’m really enjoying painting these miniatures, to use in our game, so are my boys. I did Art at University before I became a nurse. And I have to say not to blow my own trumpet. My first attempt at painting a miniature went really well. And so I’ve really got addicted to this thing. But one thing I am noticing, is those paints, blimey you’re on the clock, they dry fast!! Which in a way is great for painting these miniatures because you can move to the next stage quite quickly. But it’s not great with regards to paint wastage. And since, I’ve gone a bit nuts lately, buying loads of stuff off Amazon, primer sprays, magnifying glass etc…. The wife’s getting on my case!! So I’m really interested to find out how much of this “extra” equipment you can actually just make it home. …….. so, here, I am, on your video, how to make a wet pallet! I subbed ya! 😊

So I’m a Dad…. I’ve just started getting into painting mini’s…. I bought my boys some Warhammer because I thought it might be fun for us to create a game. Might be fun for us to paint some too. My kids loved it. But turned out that I loved it too. I painted my first Ork yesterday. And the results were amazing. I was well impressed with my first attempt. But looking at your models here, I realise there’s some levels to this! Your models are so perfect. One of the hardest things I find about painting these miniature is the size (shocking)… they are small!!! It just makes painting them quite challenging. So I have no idea how are you are so neat and perfect. ..? That’s an incredibly steady hand, followed by serious talent. Impressive. And I do like the white space marines …

I am pondering making a Gallowdark killteam board... but I want it to have multiple levels and Iw ant to actually make some VERY twisted amalgams and shapes. The books describe there are actual towns in the gallowdark and such, ships from 80k years ago mixed up with new ones etc.

Hand cream (like Nivea) works better than water as a lubricant for your tools. Put a dab on the back of your off hand and dip your tool whenever you need to. When you're done use whatever is leftover for it's intended purpose.

Very similar to what I have used in the past, and I tend to use the "Grim Rule" alongside of those. Grim rule would be that I would choose the option for the AI that makes it worse for me. For example, if I would roll for movement and I would know that if the enemy unit could slaughter my guys easily, Ill make it so that the AI tries to catch me. If I have good long range weapons, Ill try to play in a way that the enemy would try to avoid me in a certain situations. Works well and makes it way more fun.

Not helping

Bio strip is very effective in removing paint from plastic AOS models. After dunking a model in it for 3 hours and then brushing it with a toothbrush, it strips away every paint layer and even the primer (changing the primer is handy if you want a change of colour, black primer doesn’t work well with yellow paint). However, Bio strip also dissolves the glue and I’ve had parts fall off many models, one part I can no longer find. Bio strip is also hard to remove from small recessed gaps and sometimes pools up in there, it looks like there’s sill some gunk in the hard to get places. It strips down to the bare plastic but it looks like the plastic is left a bit stained.

A great little tutorial. I'm coming back to the hobby and got some old DA to strip and disassemble. That will definitely help as I never done that before.😁

i guess this is like the wilko paint stripper. its an absolute nightmare to get all the gloopy paint off, as soon as you tempt to put them in water they become a mess

Soak them overnight in. 3 brake fluid then scrubbing with a toothbrush the break fluid will wash off with hot water. Thank me in the morning

Use biostrip, scrub it into a goo then get an air tight container with an inner basket filled with 99% IPA and shake it. No more goopy mess
