It was the best times of my life to sit in my dads truck at lunch time at the edge of the loading dock in the summer and just listen to paul harvey. Such a captivating voice. Just pulled you in so easily to any story he told.
My dad was a homebuilder in the early 70s, but when the housing crash of '74-'75 hit, he lost everything. He bided his time selling cars, and waited for the right time to start building again. In the mid 80s, he'd had enough of selling cars and decided to start building houses again. That summer, he put me to work doing anything on the jobsite he felt a teenage boy could do. I have so many fond memories of listening to Paul Harvey at noon during lunch, and the rest of the story on the ride home. Sometimes we'd laugh together, and other times, we'd both say, "Huh, what about that?" Precious memories. Yes, he had an absolutely captivating voice and delivery! I love the English language, and I'm afraid that if it doesn't have a hashtag or 4 letter word, it doesn't interest people nowadays.
I used to clean motel room when I was 18 in 1978, each room had a radio built into the wall. I loved listening to Paul Harvey while i worked. His stories were so good, they appealed to all ages
I timed my commute home every day to make sure I was on the road when Paul Harvey delivered "The Rest Of The Story". The pictures that Mr. Harvey painted were so colorful and vivid, much brighter than any television broadcast could deliver. A truly great American.
Gosh, I'm old enough to miss this incredible man's radio show! So much wisdom! So much truth for democracy....altho I don't think he was thinking about that at the time!

Yes, days on the farm starts as early as 5am the cows are usually milked by 7-730am, all 120 of them, big black and white Holsteins, breakfast between 7-8am: grits, eggs, bacon, sausage toast/biscuits. Lunch at 12noon til 1-130pm and back to work by 2pm. Then it really gets stretched out, depending on what you're doing you could rap it up between 5-730pm. Sometimes during planting and harvesting season you can option depending on the weather to go all night with the tractor or combine headlights on.

I respect Paul Harvey, for his conviction in his beliefs, ability to articulate why he was so committed to his convictions, through his topical stories and a mindful conservative vision. He also had a great capacity and brilliant mind capable of analyzing both sides of his vision, through careful consideration. When he was wrong, he acknowledged it. Loved This Man He Was One Of The Greats That Left A American Free Nation That Believed In Greatness ! I am Convinced He Would of been behind Trump or anyone one destroying our country!
Your post is confusing. To be behind someone means to support them. Are you saying Paul Harvey would have supported Trump? I don't think so. Paul Harvey was a man of unassailable personal integrity, a man of deep Christian faith, a humble and intelligent man, and a man who always placed others before himself. In other words, the total opposite of the arrogant, self-absorbed, dishonest, incompetent, corrupt, and morally deficient Donald Trump. Paul Harvey would have been deeply troubled over the buffoon who currently occupies the White House. BTW, it should be "would have been" not "would of been" - an important distinction, especially when commenting about someone like Paul Harvey who was so meticulous in his proper use of the English language. And what's with all the capital letters? And the typo errors?
@@brucecampbell6043 what has Trump done that is so bad? Our economy is the best it's been in over 50 years, he got North Korea to give the remains of our soldiers back, has made great strides towards having peace on the Korean peninsula, moved the embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, got other countries in the UN to start paying their share saving us taxpayers billions. He has put America first, unlike Obama who virtually accomplished nothing other than doubling the national debt, downgrading or credit rating, and offering praise to criminal thugs while disrespecting police.
@@brucecampbell6043 also Harvey was a nationalist and as you said Christian, which puts him firmly on the conservative side because every liberal ideal goes against what the Bible teaches.

His stories, pick anyone of them and they are as relevant today … tomorrow… as it was back then , I miss that generations take on everything life through at them !
We need that more than ever today ?
A guy doesn't know what he had or has until it's gone.God Bless everybody and Peace 2u Mr. H.
I remember visiting my grandparents, sitting at the kitchen table while eating lunch and listening to Paul Harvey. Heart warming memories for sure

Funny (or mean) story about that I use to go out at lunch and listen to 760 from ft wayne In. It was on at 535 in ft wayne on the way home I would bet my co workers I knew the answer first.
Also mr. Harwell

Sigh.
Miss you Paul.
As a super hyperactive kid I was very difficult to deal with. I would not and could not focus on anything. I however whenever Paul Harvey was on I listened. I listened everyday on the bus trip to school
I loved paul harvey..
I listened to Paul Harvey for 30+ years at noon, then The Rest of the Story at 5:00, here it’s fun to hear Paul Jr too, who did the investigation on and wrote IF my 80 year old mind serves. Watching 9 July 2023.

What a voice , what a MAN! 🤔🫡🫡🫡🫡🇺🇸
Paul Harvey was the inspiration for my Radio Carrer!
The good ole Days.
“And now you know…the REST of the story!” 😎
I like the short story's Paul came up with. You were wondering. How did he find out that out when it was never said. The Wright Brothers story was amazing. One about the guy that did the train track switch with no legs . Had me saying, i ll be a monkey uncle. 😆😉 Loved his wisdom of wording. Interesting facts. Now You Know The Rest Of The Story. Good Day! 👍🧡
We need more people like Paul Harvey rest in peace
God bless the inventor of the podcast.
The most distinguished voice with in the bounds of confines Paul Harvey, alongside Casey Kasem... 😂😂😂 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ (GOD)!!! BLESS... the Harvey's aswell as the Kasem's... Good... (DAY)!!!
Need one today!
And the typo errors?
your crazy...i agree with dave......now you know@@brucecampbell6043
@@brucecampbell6043 Yea He Would Not Only Supported Trump he would have called out the Active Cue against him the Social Media attacks on free Speach and the Terrorist Group Antifia ! he Would Laid waste To The Fake news and called out The Dems ant American Give Invaders Free Everything Groups! He Was a True Patriot No Like The Islamic Commie Scum We Have To Deal with Now!
nice telling. so much news ,nowadays, is headlines w/o details
Lol, there was a character on the show Gilligan’s Island named Wrong Way Feldman, played by Hans Conried. The character was pretty cooky. I was always pretty sure he was named after Wrong Way Corrigan
Paul Harvey and Red Baber two icons that have never been replaced because consultants tell the wacky executives how the polls have more importance, hence, the confusion and failures of connecting to the end item - the customer!!!!
How about letting us know what year these great shows were aired.
Love that guy 😊
I 1st heard him on my grandparents farm at noon and everybody better be quiet, after I grew up I realized. Unfortunately it's gone like candid camera
I ust to listen him on cfrb in the 60 going to work
@1:46 that tears me up everytime, "what did you bring us Daddy?"
Paul Harvey was anti Viet Nam War of which he called it that Dead End War. As a result his phone was tapped
November 2020
Make America Great Again
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Amen brother 🤔🫡🇺🇸go Brandon 🐓💩🤡
I found his speech on TH-cam! ASTOUNDING predictions of what has actually happened to the countries of the world!
It has been happening slowly, year by year, and it is a scary thought as to what our leaders are doing. EVERYTHING he says is absolutely true, and unbelievably sad.🥴😞😢
What would Paul Harvey think about the world we live in today
On hunting trips with my father in the 60’s…no matter what state Wyoming, Montana, Nevada wherever you were at it was on
A full month before Pearl harbor: yet the media lead the public to believe that war really started with the declaration against Japan on December 8th, of 1941. The media has always driven public beliefs. An entity with that much power to shape public attitudes needs to be held accountable. The public believes at face value whatever they are hearing the most.
Look at whats going on now Dude, They lie constantly to us but the Sheep believe the news assholes because they are Evil as Fuck, only We as a nation of Awoke Americans see thru their Lies.
With the audio glitches, I can't help but imagine Paul Harvey bouncing around like Max Headroom.
he has three or more stories about elvis 1-elvis singing in schoolwhen mrs grimes heard him-2 about the other side of the tracks lonzo green -3 elvis the theatre usher
7:30 ish story sounds like “the history guy”. Not Paul
Paul Harvey is REAL Radio person; as it was meant to be...What a wonderful commentator! I sure miss him...so somehow....I might start some commentary of my own...in our tumultuous times, because...I think it's necessary! I think Mr. Harvey wouldn't mind, and I say that ever so humbly for such a gracious host of the airwaves! God Bless You all...and the Rest of the story will become new once again in the land of Trumpism and fraud...and how to beat it!
7:45 pm . This was amazing to me. Everything he said about being the devil came true!!! Wow he was a prophet.
It sounds like some of these radio shows were from Paul Harvey's son.
I Listened to it three times, he did say: that autumn, in 1878, but he's talking about a toy helicopter? There was no such thing as a helicopter in 1878.
Frank Paya Leonardo DaVinci invented the helicopter, at least on paper.
Working flying machines no but the toys described did. Need to do better research before attacking his statements.
@3:17 I would swear Paul almost called him Milton Bradley. Well he was talking about toys…
