When I was little I had a more "childish" version of the book, that ended when father came back and all of them were still young and happy. Back then I kind of shipped Jo and Laurie, so when I watched 2019 little women I was devastated!!! that they weren't end game. But like you, after time (and after lecture from my friend) I understand why they can't be together. They would just burn out in this relationship after a short time. They may loved each other, but more like brother and sister do. And even if Laurie thought it was romantic love, it would not work out.
Okay, I hope this make sense, and sorry for any mistakes in this, but English is not my first language.

your english is great, thank you for sharing your thoughts! and yes i agree, they live in two different worlds as adults, it would be so hard to keep up if they were to have a relationship in the first place :/ but i so love their friendship, and it is better for all if it stays that way 🫶

Laurie and Jo had a really sweet sibling dynamic, there was never any romantic tension between them, i think Laurie proposed to jo out of confusion, he was confusing the overwhelming love and admiration he felt for her with romantic feelings and he was also scared that he was never going to find anyone with whom he felt as comfortable as he did with Jo, great video as always!!

I actually love Friedrich Bhaer! However, I only like him in the book, none of the adaptations I've seen get his personality right at all, so I can see how people who saw the movie first wouldn't like him. I think he makes a wonderful partner for Jo, their values and wants in life cross over really well and their personalities are so compatible. In the book he doesn't feel thrown in there to me like in all the adaptations, he presents a clear contrast to Laurie in personality and lifestyle, as well as of a beautiful adult relationship for Jo. I think they work great together and I hate that he's always done dirty

this is interesting, thank you for sharing! i can see how jo and friedrich’s personalities go well together. i agree, his character wasn’t explored that much in the film adaptations. i believe my opinion of him will change once i read the book, and hopefully would bring some justice to friedrich

My favorite version is the 2017 mini series! It’s a better version of Pro Bhear but still not perfect!
