- Did you ever find it odd how little rory seemed to care about the impact loving Dr Flemming would have on Paris and more so, how it looked and how "gross" is was in terms of the age gap and the fact that it was an affair on both sides (from what i remember). Well so do I... In this episode we talk about rory just being an awful friend with a major tendency to view people only as multifaceted when she likes them and to deflect onto those who are different from her yet in similar positions.
The way they played paris' mental health as a joke made me so uncomfortable every. Single. Time i rewatched it.
literally made me so mad too, because just cuz it was funny at the time doesn't mean the team couldn't have done better. i personally don't think period is much of an excuse for media in the 21st century yk
I respect your view, but as someone who is/was somewhat like Paris, her meltdowns were really funny and helped me see some of my own problems. I'd never seen someone on screen who matched my intensity and insecurities so well.
I was never as mean, oblivious, or cartoon-ish as Paris, but Paris did help me laugh at myself and see why other people didn't understand me. I definitely think they could have handled things more sensitively in some cases, but for the most part, Paris is funny to me. Take that for what it's worth, I suppose.
I've noticed Yale Rory happened because she allowed all of her insecurities to be bottled up to the point when Jess left her without a word, (just like her Dad did) that's when she started down spiraling 😢
Great video, but.. around the start of S4 you say Rory didn't feel like what she did with Dean was wrong, because she feels like its special and she didn't regret it. Well, at this point, that letter didn't happen yet. She 'only' could've feel bad about the whole, messed up Dean-Jess situation. But, your point still stands. And sidenote, I really like your voice :)
