As a child, I could not understand Laurie and Amy. As an adult, I think they make perfect sense. Amy challenged him to be a better man and to grow into his potential. Jo needed a man who will ground her flighty nature. Happed to me too. I have a childhood friend who is so similar to me. We ended up marrying other people and retained our decades long friendship.
Honestly I don't think there's enough scenes of Laurie and Amy together to do the whole song, which says something, and also they ended up together and the song's about not ending up together.
I don't care that Amy and Laurie make more sense or whatever. I love Jo and Laurie always. And I don't even want to talk about the other dude that Jo gets with.
I’m sure a lot here will disagree with me but I think them not ending together was the better thing for both of them. But I won’t lie to myself because I absolutely love their chemistry and friendship and if they could end up together in another world I would gladly watch it. But I think Amy and and Laurie balance each other out.
They loved each other in their own way. He loved early and she realized late. But they found their own way to marry and be happy but still to be good friends. Isn't it the most beautiful love? Tell me how many of u have married your first love? It's reality.
