We are in the Aftermath of Hurricane Ian. We have major damage in the area. Lee County appears to be worst hit. We have roof & water damage. Finally had the roof tarped...I don't know method used to tarp the roof, but I wanted these wood placed on the roof but instead we have sand bags...Supplies may be an issue as damages are widespread. I decided to contact the Vendor. Just reached out to a Preferred Vendor and asked him why only "Sand Bags" and not the wood sticks??? He explained the Vendor goes by the Insurer's Guidelines, and a temporary fix "SAND BAGS" are placed. Once the Insurance Company determines a full replacement is needed, then at that point they secure the tarp more. I think it would be great for all parties to know the process of a situation when there is Catastrophic damages like Hurricane Ian, the time constraints, etc. This would reduce #1. Fraud, #2. More damage to property. #3. Cost of Replacement. Now I understand why some roofs had "TAPE LIKE" coverings on roofs. I much appreciated this video...I would like to see videos on "What to know in the event of a Wide Spread Catastrophic Event like Ian" where Ft. Myers Beach is wiped out, the Islands, and the Counties widespread damages...but will reach out...

Thats the problem with shingles. They are cheap for a reason in comparison to slate. So when choosing a roof material get the best you can afford. Not just the cheapest. Or in the long run it will be a lot more . Shingles are good for sheds .
