- In this video we take an old set of vintage Shimano XTR mountain bike brakes, Clean, De-grease and Re-fresh them. Giving them a quick restoration.
They have become tired & very dirty over the years, So now it is time to breath new life back in to them.
This particular set will be used on the project GT STS bicycle, Which is also being shown on the channel.
The Shimano XTR M-950 Series was introduced from 1995 and the top end mountain bike components of the time.
Shimano is one of the best known manufacturers for cycling and has a reputation for making quality products.

What degreaser you used?
@@waltw8230 I normally use a solvent based body shop Penelope de-greaser.
But I do also now have an ultrasonic cleaner, which uses a bilt-hamber surface x de-greaser.
What are your thoughts on ultrasonic cleaners?
To be honest I’ve not ever used them, but they seem like a good option.
