    I think that there's also one element that Vaati might have left out, the Ultimate Weapons/Overed Weapons system from ACV & Verdict Day.
    As you see, one of the (supposedly) boss AC in the trailer is utilizing the massive rings of missile around the mech, which is almost similar to the "Legion Pulse" ultimate weapon.
    The UW in a sense, is essentially a big "Fuck you" weapons that will, in most case, one shot you enemy, whether it's an AC or not, with a tradeoff of being so powerful is that the moment you activate it, the system goes absolutely haywire, the generator threatens to shut down and the whole mech starts shaking, because of its sheer power.
    Some examples of UW includes:
    - You like rail guns? How about a very big railcannon that can one shot your enemy from a distance, with complementary energy pack? The downside, of course, being the fact that the gun is so big and heavy that you need to be stationary to fire it.
    - In case that you wanted to completely delete someone off the surface, how about the Giga-Missile? That able to assemble and fire a compact ICBM on-site to obliterate your enemies? Also watch for that generator output, just a single rocket is enough to overload and leave your AC vulnerable to attacks.
    - Craving that "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"? How about six of them, extra-large and flaming hot chainsaw, attached to the spinning drill piece? And don't worry about your left arm weapon, you probably won't be needing it anyway, just rip it out and replacing it with this monster of a weapon, and start grindin' em good with the aptly-named "Grind Blade"

    • @Maverick2736
      @Maverick2736 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not to mention you also need to go through a lengthy transformation sequence that disables your weapons and screws with your HUD, followed by a *_very short_* active time frame in which you can actually aim and fire the Ultimate/Overed weapon once, maybe twice if your build is really specialized for it, before your AC nopes out of it for the remainder of the mission to avoid a catastrophic system/engine failure, leaving the massive weapon stuck to your AC and adding dead weight to it because they're so jury-rigged to the chassis and engine that you cannot purge them.
      They're genuinely really sick, though, even with all those limitations. I hope they add them back into AC6.

    • @hiddenmaster6062
      @hiddenmaster6062 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But we don't know if the Overed Weapons are in AC6 this time. Which they're likely not.
      They were first shown and focused on in AC5's announcement trailer, but about a year later when they started showing more, any and all direction that they seemed to had, especially on the OWs were removed or down-played to obscurity in the very game that introduced them. So much it's no wonder why only a select few heads, most of which are from the very first head's family, can transform when using OWs. It's no why only the Grind Blade takes off your left arm while the others do not. And it's no wonder why Verdict didn't add to this outside of adding a new blade OW.
      For them to have the OWs again for players to use in light of all of this? There's no way.

    • @b.e.wooten
      @b.e.wooten ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s confirmed that there’s no OW. The focus will be on combinations of weapons.

    As a guy who played AC since the PS2, it's hella weird looking at the reaction of current gamers to the franchise...
    - Fromsoft is moving to a new genre... when ironically it's the 6th game not counting the spinoffs
    - Does it play like a souls game?
    - The DARK SOULS OF MECH GAMES

    Now if Fromsoftware will consider making a new ACE or a new Metal Wolf game it would be perfect.

    There were multiple ways to operate a Gundam throughout the multiple series. G Gundam had motion capture controls where the pilot moves their body and the machine copies it, there are the manual airplane like controls, there is the psychoframes which mix the airplane like controls with a telepathic interface, and there is the direct nervous system connected controls. I would prefer and recommend a remote controlled machine where I am not physically in the mech.

    From my experience with DXM I thought it was a okay game that just played like AC4 if it had a easy mode and more uplifting story. The story started to go sour for me when you fought a rouge pilot that went mad and feasted on the fallen so to speak. With the game taking control away from the character with a cutscene with two other pilots killing it for you while in game you were beating it's ass. Then there was the part where my immersion got broken when I had to fight another pilot who was stopping me from preventing another pilot from extracting data from a tower about herself. I got him down to 1% and he didn't just die to end the mission but I had to constantly fight him until a certain amount of time had gone by instead of beating him to progress the next cutscene. The worse was at the end with it forcing me to adapt to the final boss fight to build a entirely new mech despite the one I've been using 99% of the game not working on the final mission. And the fact that it gives you your only 2nd optional dialogue choice which doesn't matter because both endings might as well be the same with the only difference being what happens to your pilot. That's it, end of story, GG, go eat the frozen yogurt that gives you a sliver of a stat boost for your next battle so you can unlock the black market and get the cool boss themed weapons. Also do the online missions to get more exotic gear along with the dungeon crawler missions that don't really work with the mechs that well.

    There were points in the games where tread legs were one of the only ways you could get certain heavy weapons like grenade launchers to fire while on the move without some sort of human + upgrade or cheat codes.
    If you needed to bring a LOT of firepower to a fight and absolutely needed some movement to keep the target in your sights, you picked treads.

      It was a downgrade compared to Gen 4
      From it's slower combat to messy UI to unnecessary parts balancing to lack of build customization.
      People don't give it a chance because it failed to attract even GEN 2 players.
      GEN 5 has lots of flaws that would turn people away from it.
      If it's actually good, then we'd be seeing more content from it, but alas there's barely any content.
      Since GEN 5 main focus was too much (way too much than needed) on multiplayer.

    • @RippahRooJizah
      @RippahRooJizah ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YukitoOnline I wouldn't consider Gen V a downgrade compared to Gen 4. In fact some individual aspects was an upgrade, or at least returning to core mechanics Gen 4 either lacked or had less of. The slower combat added a lot to what Gen V could do.
      As for lack of build customization... I'm not sure I follow. I'm not sure how you got that out of Gen V compared to 4. Are you just referring to V and not VD?
      I also don't know what you mean by "If it's actually good, then we'd be seeing more content from it, but alas there's barely any content." We're talking about old games, and Gen V still had more content than Gen 4. Especially VD.
      Yes, Gen V had a focus on multiplayer. Some problems related to servers aside... how is that a major issue outside of just preference? Gen V certainly had its flaws, just like other gens had their flaws. I've seen people bash Gen 4 for what it did, even to this day. And while I do like Gen 4, it just isn't as strong as AC games as Gen V was for me. Gen 4's speed focus can be fun but it lacked the depth Gen V offered.
      I also don't get the whole Gen 2 thing, Gen V is the second fastest Gen under 4.

    My main issue with the "soulslike" term is that it seems to have no definitive meaning, its different per person. Vaati points out the combat but I've had some people completely leave that out of there description and they only bring up level design, death punishment or the difficulty as being what makes it a "soulslike". Of course there are people who say that it's all these aspects together that make a game "soulslike" and fair point yeah I agree, but I still from time to time see people that I feel are just cheery picking aspects of games that are similar just to call it a "soulslike". Some of the things that a lot of people point at being a "soulslike" aspect are found in other games and don't even originate from any Souls game either. I don't think I would dislike the term as much if it just had a solid meaning as to what the subgenre is as opposed to how poorly defined it is now to the point you can slap the label on anything, as long as you can pull enough minor similarities together and a good enough argument as to why it is "soulslike".

    • @lostvayne9146
      @lostvayne9146 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      People can paint broader and broader strokes to make their comparisons work. To the point where these very same strokes can be applied to more than just what their intended comparisons are. That is the problem with the "soulslike" term. "Fromsoft-like" is a far better term because its not specifying a game but its painting the overall design philosophy of the developers which resolves the issues of the nebulous nature of the "soulslike" term.
      a great example is with the IGN interview with the producer for armored core. He states that armored core follows "fromsofts design philosophy" and people took it as "souls-like" when it is just their philosophy that proliferates into all their products.
      1. multilayered, intricate level design
      2. observing telegraphed enemy patterns and producing solutions around them
      3. Using ingenuity and creativity to overcome obstacles
      People say this is "soulslike" when any action game worth their salt should have this design philosophy in their mind. Particularly 2 and 3 is a fundamental for fighting/character action games while 1 and 3 being fundamental to most games.
      in the end all this back and forth concerning the term "souls-like" is really just saying if a game "feels" like a fromsoftware game. Does a game have that deliberate, meticulous design that fromsoft is known for.
      Its fromsofts design philosophy. Fromlike and not soulslike.

    • @beatleboy3196
      @beatleboy3196 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sandeepkanwal9701 No that's not really what I meant, fromlike is just better than labeling everything Fromsoft makes as a soulslike. Just because they gained a large fanbase due to soulslikes doesn't mean they have to just be the souls people. Fromsoft doesn't and shouldn't only make souls games and due to the term soulslike being very all over the place with each individual person I don't really like the term, fromlike is just a better way to refer to games made by Fromsoft in my opinion instead of lumping them all together as just souls games. I'm just gonna stick with Fromsoft game when talking about them myself honestly.

    • @RippahRooJizah
      @RippahRooJizah ปีที่แล้ว

      @@beatleboy3196 As far as Soulslike goes, as far as From is concerned, I only use it for the Souls titles, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne. People have called Sekiro a soulslike but it kinda befuddles me that people will ignore large chunks of what the other soulslike games do that Sekiro doesn't, but then say stuff like "fire based checkpoints and it's hard and the levels of interconnected. Soulslike!"
      That said, as a whole I'm not going to boil it all down to "Fromlike" and would rather just say Fromsoft design philosophies. It's longer, but I know how to type and I'd rather specifically acknowledge that it's something Fromsoft is known for rather than implying it's some sort of genre.

    As someone who played over 100hrs in ac4answer it has stagger. You can stun fragile with his own back weapon set. I used to use ogoto's as a stagger setup for my Kojima missles on enemy next's. Hell snipers can stagger some of the lighter nexts in one shot. For the last mission with old king on the hard difficulty I used a tank legs the most powerful generator and good boosters with 6 gatling guns to win. Which is pure cheese mind you. Looking forward to this game cause I played ac4answer on both pc and xbox360. Xbox360 coming first and when I wanted to play it again using an emulator on pc. Emulator just isn't the same. The frustration of trying to get it to work and some of the compromises I had to make just to get it to run make me wish my copy still worked. Ac4answer was pure crack and I loved every second of it. This game series has always about being professional or question is doing the wrong stuff for money worth it? That's exactly why he's getting defensive because he's usually not wrong but now that he is wrong he got to defend himself. Developers getting more efficient with the game engines that they use allows them to produce newer ideas in mechanics.
