The most enjoyable part of watching you react to the fat electrician is the fact that you're quite knowledgeable about the history. Most reactions are just "Oh wow, that's wild."
so when you think about "Ghost of Tsushima" as a point of reference about what "ghosts" mean in the war, you actually look at this guy. :) I'm a Filipino btw!
Absolutely love the fat electrician reactions. You should do the Lewis Millet video next as I think you'll really enjoy that one. Keep up the good work
As a Filipino, the way I see it is that modern Japanese and Imperial Japanese are different. Holding a people accountable for things that they had nothing to do with is not a healthy mindset. Even so, I do still find it frustrating that the country itself refuse to acknowledge their actions during WW2.
That's all well and good, it's the double standard in that kind of view that gets annoying. People say it's all good with Japan, while still blaming the US for dropping two nukes on Japan. Like the US is the only country that should be held accountable for its actions. Same with the Japanese Internment camp in the US, while ignoring the internment camps Japan had. Camps that had some brutal atrocities committed in them.
@@LWolf12 what's funnier is the still outraged countries to this day are precisely the ones that were not affected by Japan's worst actions during the war I'm sure Nanking was pretty glad about the nukes and that shit was finally over for example
Wermuth is probably the only American soldier documented who carries two colt pistols in combat. Maybe even dual wield in close combat fights against Japanese; tell me I'm wrong. And sorry for saying this, but this reinforces McArthur saying "give me 10,000 Filipinos and I will conquer the world". Also respect to the *"fighting Filipinos"* who made the missions wermuth went in possible. They're OG GOATS, they built different *o7*
Yeah what Japan did here in the Philippines(and the rest of everywhere they took over) Very not great. A lot of people still speak Spanish. Both sides of my family learned, though my dad’s side uses it more. My younger sister still has to learn it in school. I went to the memorial for the Bataan Death March for a field trip back in my first year of high school. It felt really heavy being there, thinking about all the people who gave their lives so that I could be standing there and then, and not speaking Japanese about it.
Interesting story of history. I couldn't even remember everything we learned during highschool about this. It is not told how the story went but it only shows some specific information that are easy to understand.
14:09 Just thinking about it: The last guy in the column had to be pretty dumb for that to work, since he should presumably have known there couldn’t be anybody behind him.
Say what you want about MacArthur, his goodness of the Philippines and willingness to win the pacific is unquestioned. And Americans were ready to sacrifice ourselves to free them.

You're not wrong, while I do enjoy anime and such. A lot of people just view Japan as a victim of American brutality because of the two atomic bombs, while discounting the brutal atrocities Japan committed to their POWs & to surrounding populations, like the Chinses, they also would hold nearby towns & villages accountable for liberated POW & internment camps. Even if they had nothing to do with.
Wermuth became a sheriff after the war, and actually arrested L. Ron Hubbard once during the early founding days of Scientology.

"No. YOU have a grenade."

I did a historical thesis on Bataan. The amount of insane atrocities Japan did to Philippines was unimaginable.
Japan was trying to outdo germany. They did. Ever read about unit 731?

Fellow Pinoy here. I was gonna say "F your ghost of tsushima, this one American is the og 'ghost of Bataan'"
This man did the Russian badger grenade parade tactic. So when I give you this live grenade and it’s no longer my problem it’s your problem
Had a chuckle on that

On the topic of the total death toll for WW2 there is an excellent video by the name of ‘the fallen of World War Two’ that i wholeheartedly recommend.

What does mushu mean? For me it means uncle cause I’m Native American
I think it's a reference to Disney's Mulan, Mushu is the name of the little dragon that supports Mulan.

I think the single most horrific thing Japan did was……..ANIME!
Really? I would’ve thought the most horrific would be what the perverts in Japan did to anime lol.
