    I have never been so convinced to buy a software product so fast. What a game changer this will be. Thanks Jake! I wonder if you can apply the settings to a empty layer over top in PR to apply to multi clips?

      That would be interesting to try! I don’t use premier so I can’t say if it works that way or not

      Yes, you can apply CineMatch to an adjustment layer and apply the corrections to your entire timeline

      @@JakeSloan I just made my first video using cinematch, and it was a delight. It was some old footage, so I am not sure if the DJI osmo and A7iii were set to the correct color modes, but just with the cinematch tools, i got very pleasing results. Thanks again Jake.

    This is one of my favorite plugins of all time. My only question is whether once you click the Rec.709 Transform, are any adjustments you make done in Rec.709 color space, or does it make the adjustments in linear color space without losing data. I guess that's a question for Cinematch.

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s an excellent question and I’ll ask it to try and find out.

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So I asked and they said it does make the changes in the linear color space!

    Hey jake, great stuff and great location , i have a question about cinematch. I currently shoot with canon c70 and a myriad of other cameras from go pros to mavics and osmo pocket 3. But i have several sony fs100’s from years ago when i was shooting live music venues. Is there any way of getting these older formats to produce anything worth while…i know they dont have the DR. Any ideas on what would be a starting point as the source ca,era choice?…thanks for the info as im sort of new to the whole cinematch thing..

      You can definitely use Cinematic to color grade the footage from the older cameras and it does have color matching tools that can be used to help them match up even more but it will definitely take a bit of work on your side. The good news is once you have a grade you are happy with you can save it as a LUT file

  • @LouisLuzuka

    Do you color before or after the cut? Or do you edit and color as you go?

    • @Photovintageguy
      @Photovintageguy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most. People just apply a basic color transform. Get to the final edit then do all the color matches and grades. Otherwise you would be working on footage that might not even be in the final video.

      no it is quite different at matching the look of different cameras

    Anybody have issues with Cinematch and exporting out of Premiere Pro? I'm finding that the colors I grade for in Premiere do not match up with what is exporting.

    • @JakeSloan
      @JakeSloan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hopefully someone will be able to answer. I don't use Premier so I can't say. I remember a bit back certain versions of premier had this issue, export colors did not match what the grade showed in the edit
