I have a Mountain Aire 1999 25 years old with 2 slides and same lock and gears setup as shown here and I have never had even one problem with the slides or locks. I do believe the previous owner about 10 years ago had issue with the controller on one because I found an extra one in parts but maybe not maybe it was just bought in case of failure. They may not be fast and fancy but I am very satisfied

Great info, thank you! Our old FR Windsong came with 18" "clubs" with cane-type rubber tips to be wedged in the slide tops. As everything needs to have 2-3 uses in an RV, I found these to be VERY handy to kabong a certain dipshit climbing up my ladder late at night at a park.

Funny story. Are you near the mid ohio motor sports park? Great facility. I'm a huge indy car fan and love that place.

Is this still a thing on a '22 2702? Our arms have a vertical component, there are upper and lower arms.

Good explaination of the slide lock process and use. However, our 01DSDP "Maxine" has dictated other instructions. The slide locks were a constant problem since the coach was new and have been replaced several times. Twisting, binding, bending, jambing all while unlocked and throwing the slide out of adjustment. It was a constant headache, so I removed all four of them. Since removal, the slides have worked perfectly and not needed any adjustments. The weight of the slides is on the outside lower edges so when they are retracted they do not move out by themselves. Unless there is a total failure in the slide electronics they will not move or vibrate out. I believe the slide mechs are the best design out there. The resistance that the slide locks create force the slides to come in at strange twisted angles and ruins the slide mechs. I carry wood blocks in case it becomes an issue but have never had to use them. Sure, I can shake the top of the slide too, but when traveling down the road there is no movement in the top of the slides with out the locks in place. The other problem it that the bolts on both the motor and motor mount must be re-torqued each year as they loosen up due to heat/cooling and torque put on the bolts.
