Tbh, I've been thinking about the same scenario that I've been going through with my friend and potential lover for months since the beginning of 2022. Tho, my guy friend has had his own ideas across about how friends turned lovers can have its effects on one's relationship to develop. He once told me that it could strengthen the bonds between the two that started off as friends in a way that can very meaningful for the two of them.

* They will try to make you laugh. They will reference inside jokes and try to involve you in what they find funny.
* Maybe they'll act more stiff or nervous. Maybe they don't hug you as much as they used to because now they feel them differently. Touch suddenly feels more romantic and intimate so it's might happen more awkwardly.
*They will include you in more groups: maybe you'll get asked to come with to a club they attend, or present you one of their hobbies. Maybe they suddenly are willing and excited for you to meet their family or friends. Including you in other areas of their life will result in more time together. Also, they might be more open and trusting to share a personal or more vulnerable side of themselves.
Your 2nd point is very interesting. My good friend suddenly stopped hugging me. He used to embrace me unexpectedly when we went to the club, and a couple times at my place during sleepovers. He kept all the gifts I gave him over the months we knew each other (met in February 2022). I noticed he would get awkward/nervous when I offered to hug. He would say "why are you acting like that?" I thought he hated me or thought I was weird. And it's contradicting because he usually wants me to sit next to him or go with me to the park or lunch.
I'm still hoping he opens up to me more in the future. But lately I've opted to just pull back a little bit and play it cool. My friend calls/texts me often and it seems like he wants to be involved in my life. I really care for him and I just want things to unfold naturally with no expectations.

I hope you and your friend get to figure out where your relationship is going 🥰 communication is key though, and it helps that you intend to come without expectations. @@userm180 Yes of course. He shows that he loves me through gifts. One time my friend told me he doesn't love easily. He has told me that he thinks I'm cute when we first met. Later on in the friendship I tried finding some answers, but he got quickly defensive and said "love is a strong word". So now I try not to expect his hugs or anything because I don't want it to seem like I "expect too much from him".
One thing I know for sure is he's super sentimental. He took a blanket home with him that has my name on it. And more recently gave me amazing gifts for my bday.
I'm guessing my friend is waiting for the right moment. We call each other "honey" sometimes. I noticed my friend remembers all the little details about me. Oh yeah... and one time he joked about being my boyfriend. I passed it off because I didn't know if he was being serious. I kind of wish I said "sure, yes" during that. Instead I said "I know you're joking - I view you as a good friend."
I think we're both protecting our hearts because love puts you in a vulnerable spot. But for now I'm extremely happy that he views me as a friend. If it feels right to me, then of course I'll take a risk and tell him how I feel. He kind of already showed me what he feels for me, but I think he needs more time.

My wife is my best friend and we've been friends forever. Since we were kids. I was so nervous to ask her on a date but she told me shes been wishing I would for years. I’ve got a massive crush on a friend. She’s perfect in my eyes, even though I can tell she doesn’t see it sometimes. I love and adore everything about her, and just being around her is enough to make me so much happier. She’s really affectionate with everyone too and my love language is primarily physical touch, especially cuddling. But I never see her in the summers and I’ve probably only got a few months to have a shot with her, and she has way better options around her than… me.

I ended up so lost.
Went on a few dates earlier this year with a coworker turned friend, from January - March, almost every week.
She bought us zodiac mugs with each other's sign on them. (Not that we're into it, just thought it was neat)
We got matching keychains.
There was hand holding.
She would find me at work just to hang out and hold my hand when it was slow days.
She would lean on me when we talked.
Finally told her I liked her, straight up asked if I could kiss her, she seemed excited, and we did.
Then I have only spoken to her once since, and only through her brother by happenstance, and not for lack of trying.
Either I'm a terrible kisser, or something else went wrong entirely.

She obviously likes you and have feelings, but not enough to make her feel secure about taking another step with you. She's ghosting you emotionally which shows she's not ready and she's not very emotionally smart. Try to reach out and ask her that you just want to be clear about it and that she can be chill about it. But I honestly feel that is better to give an end to it. That type of avoidant people tend to hurt to people like you who are sure about their feelings.
I've been suspecting about a friend of mine for some time, but I didn't thought that it was something serious until they asked me If I was single right before asking me out. I was caught off guard, but after that I started to quickly connect the dots. I felt pretty dumb to not noticing before

Never regret the courage you have to express your feelings. Some people live a life full of fear and wondering "what if". But you haven't and you should celebrate That!!! Even if the answer is not what you expected! Yes, It was another rejection and you have all the right to feel sad or frustrated. But that doesn't mean things has to be like this always. Maybe you should look up at why are you feeling attracted to people who tend to reject you? Maybe you are a very sensitive person and you're putting your eyes in people who don't value this? Try to figure out those similar things of people who rejected you and see if you could give yourself a chance to connect with other kind of people. Hugs!

Your voice is very soothing, and I wonder if you have any content of you just reading a book or something. I think that sort of thing would go over well.
Some of these apply to me and this one girl I've known for a long time. But haven't seen her or our circle of friends lately.
1. She would find reasons to sit with me or pull me away. Even when sitting, I noticed my shoulder rubbing hers or her moving closer.
2. This is something I'd probably do. Just us smiling together for a quick snapshot.
5. Yes, even when we met what feels like so long ago, I still get nervous around her. And she'd tell me it's okay. She was the one to make the first move. But we'd have moments where we bump into each other and just laugh it off. Maybe even mirroring. But there was one where we were that close she thought I tried to kiss her but I flirted a bit thinking she tried to kiss me.
6. I didn't really have bad luck in the love department but rumors about having girlfriends when I didn't. But hoping when I do see her after this long, we become closer and I become less nervous.
Have a girl that likes me at minimum as friends possibly beyond summer break right now tho will try in august and see how it goes but considering my luck is pretty clapped I don’t know how it will go
Maybe reach out to her and meet with her if possible? if you like her too, and feel happy around her, don't let it get lost in the hardships and the lack of time :)
It's really hard to make the call. I had an experience with a girl. We were really close. We were together during the day and speak only during the afternoon through the night. She was one of my best friend in my life and I wanted more. I fell in love with her, so I told her that I have stronger feeling towards her than friendship. She rejected me and not, so slowly this ruined our friendship. We separated not long after I confessed and never saw her again.
Nowadays, I am really cautious to make the move towards a friend. It's the worst. It's worse than just getting rejected from a random girl. If things go bad you are getting hearth broken and lose a friend as well. 😔
Just my 2 cents here... but in that scenario, I'd patiently wait for her to recognize my feelings on her own, and make the first move 'once she's taken the time to process this.'

Perfect summary of my situation in terms of having feelings for a friend... Just that in my situation there is no option for a relationship.
And I struggle real hard to deal with that. (The jealousy, and all other feelings attached to that predicament) I guess It would be healthy to limit contact or try to meet other people, but the first one hurts because I value the friendship (or mybe it's just my desire to spend more time with the person) and the second one is hard because I never had luck in finding someone.
"A relationship could risk our friendship" as I was told by my bestfriend after we kissed on 2 separate occasions. And she was right, now that she is dating another guy, she don't talk to me anymore

Can you please do a video on how to recover from emotional trauma? It would help me a ton. I won't go into the nifty gritty, but I have moderate depression and severe anxiety, and I'm also a very emotionally sensitive person. I'm a strong empath. I have a hard time saying no. I'll never get mad or blame someone even if it's their fault. These traits have been used against me, and resulted in a nearly successful suicide attempt about a year ago. I still haven't recovered from it. My medications aren't doing much for me anymore and I don't know how to communicate my feelings with my therapist. It would mean the world. Thank you.
Watch out for what they say about people you express romantic/sexual interest in. If they constantly find a way to put down the people you're interested in, that's potentially a big sign they're into you.
My best friend told me she loves me one day ago and I already knew that and could stay calm it was my happiest day :) we are going well for now seeing this video now made me feel happy again

Kind of sounds like me, but it's over between us now. But I'm still confused at times about how he really felt. There were definitely signs that he had feelings for me too, but something happened and it went downhill. We never dated, but it still really hurt. It honestly kind of felt like a breakup. I honestly think my current and ex relationship started off as friends, my gf is also my best friend. This means a lot to me, and if you’re able to be friends with someone you can be attracted to, then you have the best ground for a healthy relationship
Also keep in mind that one or two of these behaviors being shown may not mean they like you romantically. As i listened, i noticed that my friend has two of these details, he often avoids talk about love, and he often notices little things about me, but i had asked him out before and he said 🙅♂️
It could be personal preference not to talk about love life. And it could be that you spend enough time together to notice small changes.
I also realize that I like him way better as a friend, even if I do notice small changes in appearance and try to hang out a lot.
I will say though, one time my sister was dead asleep and would not pick up her phone, so I had no ride home from school. I called him after drying my tears and asked if he could come get me. He was already at his house but he drove right back to school to come get me and drop me off at home. But it's not like we hang out all the time. We never hang out after school, and rarely talk outside of class. He has his friend group and I leave him to it, but it's nice to have somebody who isn't as afraid of driving as you are 😁

I am incredibly close to my best friend, and match up with most of these, however I would never want to be in a relationship with him. We’re both on the aroace spectrum and every feeling is completely platonic. It’s probably the best type of relationship imo, less strings attached and more freedom

I thought most of these were just regular friendship things?? I’ve been this way around one of my friends, but I know I don’t have a crush on her because a) I don’t want to be in a romantic relationship with her, just platonic and b) I’m straight lol.
