We all watched him play. He is complete trash. He doesn't know what it means to be a real effective QB in this league. Lamar, Jalen, Kyler, Stroud, Trevor. All similar styles, all learned within 1 or 2 years. Fields has had 3 horrific years.
Then why did he say Caleb threw pics against big time teams when he had the same amount (just 5) as the year before when he won the Heisman? Answer that because you sounds to me like you judge based on feelings and not facts.
James Jones is spot-on with that take...the Bears have too many holes to think that getting a QB with the same O-line and only one weapon of a WR, Caleb Williams, Mayes, Tom Brady, whoever cannot come and save this team right now with an inept HC, 2nd OC, and a 2nd year QB is going to be a winning franchise! The Bears need to fix and improve their foundation to get wins.
Eberflus is doing a good job on that defense, without a defensive coordinator.

How does every other team manage to do it, you can't hold everyone's hand. Thats like saying it's governments fault people are bad at their jobs. Some people take it seriously and other don't, like Money Manziel not reading film or Kyler with a homework clause. if the other guy doesn't want to get better you can only do so much. You really think Hurts got better by having that team or was it because he wants to be better. He went back to school in the off season to get his degree after making 180mil, how many people would care for a college diploma after having 180mil in the bank from your profession? You can't coach that.

Nowadays these organizations want to rush product they want Super Bowl contenders from rookie qbs when all those guys who were are just built different. The last qb I can say was really developed was Josh Allen. They took their time with him let him make his mistakes and look what they got. They got a great qb. Look at Geno the Seahawks gave him time to develop and let go of past bad habits he even sat behind a hof qb in Russ. He went from career backup to maybe not a Super Bowl contender but a playoff team. Not every qb is a mahomes, jalen hurts, joe burrow, chargers qb i litterally just can’t think his name rn. My point being developing a qb is a major part of a great team some guys aren’t going to give u instant success

His main argument was that worse qbs are winning because their team is so great that they win in spite of their qbs. All he named was qbs teams don’t want. Of course he’s better than 5 qbs in this league. Then his solution was to build a team so good that it can be halted by bad qb play. Sort of like the 2018 bears.

I'm a lifetime Bears fan and I'm on the fence about Fields, but the Acho take on his performance in the 4th does not take into account that the Bears are always behind (proven by their record), and despite o-line issues, poor play calling, etc Fields is doin his best to win the game by himself. That has led to some ugly moments, but he's not 100% at fault.
If the Bears move on from Fields he'll become a Superstar somewhere else.

He has had multiple chances for comebacks or game winning drives in the 4th and has 3 in 3 years. And against the Vikings it took him 3 chances and he was lucky not to be sacked.

The thing people were missing when talking about comparing Fields to Jalen Hurts making a MVP level jump is that the Eagles have a very competent coaching staff, the best oline in the league, AJ Brown, Devonta smith, and Dallas Goedert. Fields has improved as a passer from last season though

Lamar went to the Ravens (well run org), Jalen was dropped onto a ready made roster (best OL/DL + well ran org, got lucky since he was a 2nd rounder), Kyler got his college coach, and CJ an outlier (not taking away from his greatness)(thought he was the best in last yr draft). JF1 got Nagy yr 1 who was more focused on saving his job than preparing him (Dalton got all reps thru training camp). Might as well throw away yr 1. Landed in an org that has never developed a QB. Got a 1st time HC (Flus) n 1st time OC + play caller who was the QB coach 4 ARod (doubt there was much he helped with at that point in his career). IMO, he can be great with the right support.

Correct!. I watched the game Monday night and the play calling was Terrible on offense. The Vikings were blitzing up the middle all night and no quick slants to Moore or even better still Mooney? They gave up on the running game and just threw those quick outs that the Vikings was just waiting for all night long.

Agree. The Bears i think made a major mistake by not addressing the Center position this past offseason. I think they gave too much credit to Whitehair/Patrick. They know now. I'd lay some coin down that they'll draft a Center within the top 3 rounds, or find the best free agent Center they can find. My bet is getting one in the draft.

In the 3-14 last year, were they not talking? Was the roster not entirely stripped down? Gow many weeks was it again that Justin carries the team and puts up 30+ ppg only for the defense to give up 35+ppg, whicj the defense continued to give up points lile candy throughout most of this season too. His passing has improved. It's true, he hplds the ball a little too long at times and takes too many sacks. Ball security is something he needs to work on, and he's been improving.

the comp% is aboutt the same at 60% and 61% and i think both qb rating is like 75 ish, fields a lot of of turn overs, but when your team is down most of the game you tend to make a lot of YoLO throws tring to make things happen.
i forget most of the stats but i looked it up and in there career they are very similar to each other. the HUGE diff is wins, but thats a team stat

He has a better team surrounding him and a superbowl winning HC too. Fields would be just fine in a more stable situation. The "foundation" is definitely not the QB. It's the Lineman. Justin Fields never had a foundation until this year after 2 painful years. With a OC who likes to run 13 screens a game.
They can draft a quarterback but I don’t trust the Front Office to develop the quarterback right. But hey let’s just hope and pray that Caleb Williams or Drake Maye fixes this team. Not to mention the coaching staff is so good at putting the offense together. But hey those are just my thoughts.

For me ever since the Bears started trying to transition from a running team that threw it a few times to a throwing team that runs it a few times, by and large they have never worked out how to call offensive plays for their QBs and I don't think it would matter how good a QB they bring in currently, they would still find a way to make him look average.
If they do take Caleb in the draft, 3 years down the road from then I could well see them in the exact same position as they are in now with us all asking the exact same questions about Caleb that we are asking now about Fields............its an organisational problem for a team that fundamentally still want to be a team that predominately runs the ball at its core and I really (sadly) don't see how they are going to fix it going forward.
Said it perfect! They have never developed a QB and I dont see a QB in the draft thats more talented than Fields. He has to go to a team that can develop I wish he could go to the Broncos with Sean Payton or the Packers.

A big part that nobody mentioned in this segment is this:
Justin Fields is 7-26 as a starter, that’s true. But of those 26 losses, how many of them were within one possession? 15. Of those 15 losses within one possession, how many have happened with Luke Getsy as the OC? That answer is 10. Put a pin in that, I’ll come back to that in a second.
In this win against Minnesota, Justin Fields threw 37 passes. How many of them were under 10 yards? 32. Of those 32 passes, how many of them were either at or behind the line of scrimmage? The answer is 16.
Here’s where I take the pin out: Justin Fields has shown us and told us that his deep ball is one of his best things in his arsenal, but you can’t win games in the NFL when you’re having a guy like him throw screens and check downs and then expect him to play hero.
