Well, you may have noticed, I'm not the quickest on my MC projects. I'll report back on it when I have this one on the road. Been on 2 nice vacations to Yosemite and then the Eastern Sierras so YT postings have been a little light lately. Need to get back in the garage groove.
The detent is working fine (I think). Sadly I put a used clutch from a race engine in this rebuild and the clutch is not performing well. When cold it lurches a bit when putting it in first. So ATM I'm unable to 100% comment on the detent. The cluth needs to be change at some point then I'll know better.
Richard, you're welcome for the videos. I can't answer your question yet because I'm still working on this project. Hopefully this shift detent will smooth things out a bit and make for easy neutral. However, it may be one of those mods that isn't very noticeable. Once I get the bike on the road hopefully I will remember to get back to this episode and report back on the shifting. On this engine build I also did the clutch pancake bearing which may have zero effect on shifting and the shift star mod. The shift star mod I can attest to being helpful as I did this on my thrasher bike rebuild and ride that thing all the time. It shifts quite well and finds neutral easily.
Erm.. That Mod is utterly Ineffective/ Bullshit junk basically . Despite Brochure babbles by maker vendors. Star mod Does work though (round off the points on the start shift cog)
Interesting product. I'll be curious to hear how you like it, on the road.😊

Any updates on the detent and how it performed

Hello, please tell me the size of the bearing
Sorry. It's installed so unable to measure it.
Ken, how did the shift detent work out? Smooth shifting? Easy neutral? Any problems/concerns? Thank you for your videos, very helpful!!
