Outlands is one of my favorite pieces of scoring ever it’s everything tron is all in one: the wonder, the excitement, the unknown UGH I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH
I’ve always been criminally obsessed with this movie as a kid and the fact I can vividly picture the exact scenes in my mind for when each track plays is a testament to how iconic the OST was.
As somebody who loves TRON and loves Daft Punk, I was so remarkably happy when a new TRON film was announced and that Daft Punk was making the soundtrack. It remains a wonderful album and I enjoy watching the film again every so often as well as hearing tracks from the album pop up in other places.
We shouldn’t forget to give credit to Joseph Trapense. From what I’ve read it seems like he did a lot of the heavy lifting turning Daft Punk’s themes into something suitable for a whole film.
I still remember being 13 and going out to eat at Burger King after watching the movie with my family and asking my mom to put a random song from the soundtrack on iTunes and telling her about the specific scene associated with it and she was so astonished when she put the end credits and I told her it was the credits I’ll never forget the look on her face, I was so obsessed, it was one of the first movies where I instantly fell in love with the soundtrack it left such a huge impression and impact on me that has never faded, so much so that my mom bought me both the movie, the soundtrack cd and the wii game, and sometimes my mom tells me to play the cd on occasions and we just vibe with the music, all while I try to hold back tears driving because that music makes so emotional for reasons I still can’t understand I’m hit with a huge wave of nostalgia, happiness and something else. Still can’t believe more people don’t know about this movie. You definitely nailed the vibes of each song good stuff, thank you so much for sharing have a good one.
It is also fitting that two people inspired by the original TRON soundtrack would become Daft Punk and carry on the legacy of the music in this sequel.

Not a month has passed, the video got removed off of youtube. I still listen to it from time to time, and it never fails to make me emotional as fuck

As a helper for the OST I was the creator of the music content I used a Creative X-Fi Platinum sound card. It was recorded fast, with very quick changes very ADHD my thought process isn’t good with composing. My post master on the game has changed. I recorded at 96khz in Audition 1.5. Then I resampled to 48 kHz which is half speed. I used the analog stereo outs through gear and then to a Lexicon Mx200 out the rca spd if to the rca spd if on the Creative Xfi. That artifact in the samples is from the song staying at 96khz and the music was recorded from the Lexicon digital Jack that only supports up to 48khz.
