@@frenchynoob I didn't put it down. I only said that legacy was better. And I used to love the first one, until I grew up an watched it objectively and realised, that, while Tron is technically and visually groundbraking for its time, the story is mediocre and so is some of the acting. Tron Legacy wasn't groundbraking in any way, except mabe for the soundtrack being one of the best of all time, but it was overall a better movie than Tron, especially in regards to story and acting.

22:14: "And then Clu went rogue!"
Well, not really. He's a program. He was doing exactly what he was told, like a program does. "Perfect" is such a broad term, so easily misinterpreted. The film becomes grand, almost Shakespearean tragedy, because Kevin is ultimately at fault. Clu was essentially Kevin's other "child," and he unintentionally gave that "child" bad instructions, bad education, and Clu could only act on what Kevin had told him to do.

@@terrylandess6072 I got the impression the scene accentuates Dillinger and the MCP's pursuit of power is affecting the rest of the company's business and research. Gibbs is making it clear Dillinger isn't operating with the company's interests in mind.

Good sequel 👌 There are a couple small things I would change, but overall very well done. Its also cool that much of the film was shot in Vancouver BC where I live.
Sam and Quorra ride the motorcycle across the lions gate bridge at the end as she see's her first sun rise.
Fun fact: lions Gate film studios who have made many well known movies. Such as American Psycho, Hunger games, and John Wick was named after that Bridge in Vancouver.

    Hey Addie...Bless you, thrice!
    - 21:44 - The composers of the score for Tron Legacy appear...Daft Punk.
    - Michael Sheen (Castor) was a huge fan of the first film as a kid, so when he was offered the chance to be a part of this film, he JUMPED at it! I love his David Bowie-esque performance in the role.
    - It was exciting to see Cillian Murphy as Ed Dillinger, Jr., even though it was just a glorified cameo. I think that there were plans that would have had Murphy play someone in the grid in a sequel, but the film didn't make enough to warrant an immediate sequel, so those plans were scrapped. Although, there is a new Tron film coming next year. Tron: Ares with Jared Leto, and Jeff Bridges will return as well *that was announced just a couple weeks ago).
    - The clues to Rizler being Tron were there all the time. You never see Rinzler's face, but on his chest are four little boxes, three on top, one centered below (which is what was on Tron's chest in the first film). When Rinzler pins Sam, and sees the blood, it is Bruce Boxleitner's voice who says, "User!". When we see Tron in the flashback, he fights with two discs, like Rinzler. So, when Flynn recognized Rinzler as Tron...it makes sense.
    - I loved this and wanted more, but the box office was not enough for Disney to do another at the time.
There is another Disney sci-fi film I think you need to see...John Carter (2012). Based on the novel A Princess of Mars by Edger Rice Burroughs (the same writer who created Tarzan). The film stars Taylor Kitsch (Friday Night Lights and Gambit from X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Lynn Collins (Logan's girlfriend Kayla Silverfox in X-Men Origins), Willem Dafoe, Samamtha Morton, Mark Strong, Bryan Cranston, Dominic West, Daryl Sabara and directed by Andrew Stanton (Wall-E and Finding Nemo). It was a flop (even though he did make up it's budget at the box office), but it is a really fun adventure romance story...one that has inspired science fiction and comic book writers, artists, and filmmakers for over 100 years.

Did you know there's a Tron animated tv show called
    Tron Uprising ? Tron
Uprising is a 2012 stylized show that happens between Tron and Tron Uprising. The show is a little bit more for kids but that's because they needed to make it appropriate for Disney XD.
You can make a reaction video of the show episode by episode (obviously). The show won an Emmy award for animation. And it has 22 minutes episodes, aaand... it got cancelled.

The name Gem is play on names carried over from the first movie. Digital Research created Graphics Environment Manager, a competitor for Windows in the mid 80's.
CLU was the name of a programming language which dates back to the early 70's. More modern uses of the name refers to command line users - the folk who process commands through the terminal versus the graphical environment.

To start off, you have the most adorable sneeze, Gesundheit, three times by the way!
This movie, the sequel, like the first leaves you with a lot of questions, and Disney had stated after the first there would be no sequel, and well lo and behold there was. After this movie was out Disney against stated there would be no prequel, and voila there will be, with a scheduled release date of October 10, 2025... that is all I will say about that for you.
I myself have happened to love this movie add answered a lot of questions from the first movie however, Cindy Morgan (Lora/Yori) as your seen was not in the movie, but Yori is still or was in the Universe of Tron.. . Unknown where and what she is doing. Cindy Morgan has since passed away (RIP), but Yori, her character is rumored to be in "Tron: Ares", (T-3), by an unknown actress...

Fell in love with the original after seeing it in the cinema, and gotta say this is a brilliant sequel. I am cautiously hopeful for the next one, though the music is such a big part of this one (and my favorite genre), so I don't know if it will hit the same heights. Having experienced it several times irl I get chills when he powers up the arcade and all the games come to life... the sounds are dead accurate, I can almost name them! The other vivid memories that come washing back is being in a club with Sweet Dreams blasting, but muted due to walls. It was usually being in the bathroom and frantically making a dash for the dancefloor! I can hardly believe Zeus is the same person that is in Good Omens (highly recommended)

Greetings, Addie. Welcome back to the grid. TRON: Legacy (2010) was incredible indeed. This is also my all-time favorite live-action Disney movie. In fact, I like this movie a lot more than most of the Disney live-action remakes that came out in recent years. The VFX for this one really holds up better than the first film. I even own the IMAX version of the movie on Blu-ray with the aspect ratio switch being retained for seven scenes. Here's how the lightcycle sequence appeared in the IMAX version. th-cam.com/video/SqSuRdkglxM/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
TRON: Ares (2025) comes out in October of next year and that's gonna be my most anticipated Disney movie of 2025.

I love how much un-answered stuff there is in the movie. They hint at Tron being saved when his lights turn back on as the light blue over the orange he had as Rinzler. I think that's part of what makes some movies so good, NOT explaining everything, and just letting us wonder.

The only part of the fx that may take you out of the experience is the de-aging done to Jeff Bridges (Flynn) at the beginning of the movie, but in the case of Clu it makes sense that he looks a bit strange because he's digital. However, in terms of story-telling, the series Tron Uprising is still leagues ahead, with a lot more characters, character development, and world-building.

Great movie, also love the original. I was in university taking my Computer Science degree and the original TRON blew us away. We grew up with "Pong", "Pac-Man", "Space Invaders", etc. for computer graphics. My 1982 TI-99/4A computer was just 256×192 pixels and 16 colours.
Yes, amazing what a few decades can do. It still mind-boggling to think of what my Nintendo Switch can do. The amount of data being processed / moved / displayed ...😮😮
The only disappointment after this movie, was Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories" album. This movie's soundtrack had me psyched for their next album, wasn't for me.

Clu did not go rogue, that's the "neat" part. Like you see in his creation phase he says "you will create the perfect system" when they housed the Iso's he asks "Do i still need to create the prefect system" since the Iso are an imperfection all he technically had to answer was "No", but since he answered "yes" he technically gave him the all green to purge all the imperfections and those that opposed the purge. Hence the "coup"

I know the ideas in this film were a little thin at times. I know it tried for Matrix-level philosophy and didn't quite hit the mark between fun and deep. But there were some genuinely heartfelt moments in this that the original didn't have. The core plot of Sam trying to find his dad was a better throughline than the original. And I think CLU was a bit more menacing of a villain than the MCP from a genuine consequences standpoint. Although I do love Dillinger/Sark as the villains of the first film. Not to mention the score is miles better in this one. The visuals are of course better, but if I consider the visuals of when this film was made to the visuals in reference to when the original was made, they wash pretty well.
Overall, I think undue expectations outdid this. Tron has a nostalgia that this couldn't compete with. Even if the original film isn't really that good either except from technical wow factors and Jeff Bridges being excellent. I even remember people knocking this movie saying Bridges was channeling The Dude too much, completely missing that Kevin Flynn was The Dude way before The Big Lebowski anyways. And yes, this film was mostly just setpiece to setpiece. But knocking this film for that while praising the original is a bit hypocritical of people, I think. I have a blast with this movie and have seen it a half a dozen times since it was released.
