  • Hopkins & Allen manufactured a quality line of revolvers starting in 1868 in the XL series. They ranged from 22 to 41 rimfire to 45LC in the XL through the XL8 This one is a H&A No.5 chambered in 38RF. It is a five shot, single action pistol with a 2 inch barrel in excellent mechanical shape.

Thanks, I really wished YT would allow me to do a video on reloading 38 rimfire.
      It's actually dead simple. I have reloaded 32 RF, 38RF, 41RF , 46RF and 41Swiss Rimfire.

    That's a beautiful looking revolver!
The XL#4 and #5 are my favorite H&A revolver model!

Wow that is a beautiful revolver, Hopkins and Allen was the high standard of the day but to bad that you can't share how you reload for theys rimfire guns, I would love to learn more about that

I made a very detailed step by step, listed it as private in order to send links to people that asked. YT still took it down. There are still plenty of 22LR reload videos still up which is the exact same thing, just bigger. You can use either the Prime ALL Compound or repurpose match heads, they both work the same. I have never had an issue using 38 Long Colt load data. .375 heeled bullets for 38 Long Colt (same as 38RF) can still be found on GB and other online sources. Hope this helps!

@ARS That's an excellent method also.
For some reason YT doesn't have an issue with using the reloadable casings that use .22 nail gun loads or Flobert 6mm as primers.
They had an allergic reaction to me mixing primer compound, repriming the rimfire cases and loading them.
      YT's rules I guess...

I’m sorry but there is just no way that that round had the kind of power you’re describing. Not unless you’re showing chronograph data.
Still a nice video. Enjoyed seeing the gun and the ammunition.
