South Indian breakfast and other preperations in general is the result of thousands of years' effort by masters living during a time of safety of plenty and opulence Just as the sculptors were building great temples just while great arts and crafts were being created tbe chefs were getting creative . The recipes are not dictated by lack of availability of ingredients ( some of the cuisines in many areas evolved becuse of scarcity of certain ingredients) Lack of time to prepare them ( cuisines of marital races warring tribes arose from need for rapid preparation and rapid consumpution) The south indian vegetarian cuisine was meant for royals and their retinue, the higher echelons of the then society. The cuisine has been perfected over the ages not just to appease raw hunger ,not just to get huge proteins or calories for heavy fighting or work but to keep those who are eating satisfied fully in a satvik way
Thanks for introducing one more refreshment. My Autistic son is enjoying by seeing ur videos. After your Dwaraka hotel video we visited that hotel with our son. We enjoyed the food. Thanks sir.
You're right 👌mr. Venkatesh. For me It's just like attending Literature lectures. My vocabulary has improved by listening to Mr. KRIPAL AMMANA. Thankyou Sirji!!
I had eaten here regularly for more than 2 years during 1998-2000 when i was working in a sw establishment nearby. Love the owner Mr. Ramachandra Bhat, the person has a very big heart. During lunch when we were late in the afternoon, and the menu items were sold out he used to share the food made for the employees and never sent us back hungry. Every person who came in enjoyed the delicious food and coffee here. I regularly see this show and was hoping this establishment would be featured some day and am pleasantly surprised to see him on Food Lovers TV. Many Thanks to you Kripal sir! Also, in my humble opinion this show is in the league of Anthony Bourdain (No Reservations), Andrew Zimmern (bizzare foods) & Guy Fieri (DDD) from Travel Channel. Your way with the local language & English is so unique. Wish you get your own show on Netflix very soon and much success!
This is one of the sweetest comments that I have come across in this section. I wish Food Lovers TV gets to find its place in the Netflix pantheon soon.
I agree with this Gentleman's comment. I truly hope Kripal gets his Netflix show. His production and content are high quality and maybe time to take it to other states, when possible ofcourse.
A brilliant establishment. The owner is a gem of a person. He treats his staff like his own children, pays them a part of thei salaries and sends the rest to their families in their respective villages. Sponsors their lodging, food and clothes while they work for him. Brilliantly reviewed. I could feel the taste in my mouth even after so many years. Also bang opposite SN, there used to be a tiny chat stall which used to serve innovative and tasty chaats like Boti masala, Nippat masala, Congress masala, stuffed panic puri masala, mango masala etc. That is a must visit as well.
Once I went to this place, very late. It was almost closing time. Idly was over. I just asked them for a cup of chutney. They were kind enough to give me just the chutney. That chutney made my day😍😋🤣😂
Amazing food here!! The chutney is by far the best I've had anywhere!! A childhood favourite and still remains the same ❤️ And Bhat uncle is very affable 😊
Patron of this eatery nearly 10 years now, really appreciate you visited this place..Mr Bhat as said by his Nephew is the icon and the selling point of this eatery... Feel home eating always ...
I am eating here for more than 25yrs and great to see you reviewing SN refreshments. Battru is amazing and the best part about this place is most of the staff are here since 15 to 20 years. That's how much he takes care of them as well as his customers.
I have visited more resturants on your channel than I have actually visited in my real life, especially during this lockdown. Once things are back to normal, I have a very big list of restaurants to cover.
Pleased to understand that Owner got legacy and Midas touch of Bramhin Coffee Bar.. And it's enough to give idea about temptation and deliciousness of food served..!! With Tempting explain - "Chatni almost refusing to let go Idli"..Hat's off..!!! Happy Eating! 🤩😍
Your introduction is in itself a tasty treat, I am salivating as I watch this, fortunately I have eaten otherwise I would have to run out to get Idi Vada somewhere. Gr8 production and video.
As a long time patron/lover of SNR, appart from the fantastic food, its MR.Bhatt's smile of welcome, recognizing most regulars even when they are irregular for periods of time. He is amazing, kind n very efficient in catering to my taste buds. AMAZING PLACE. COFFEE n puri sagu is also outstanding. 3 cheers to SNR & Mr. Bhatt. Thank You. (yellow zen)
Having been a patron of this legendary establishment since it's beginning as 1 year old, 3 generations of my family hold this place dear! It's safe to say that this has always topped my list of Bangalore eateries! 30 years on, it is one of, if not, the best in Bangalore!
yes. Sustaining itself for so long and tiding through the ever-changing gastronomic trends in Bengaluru in itself is a testimony enough. I too have been an ever-faithful patron of this establishment. Its been serving amazingly simple and refreshing south-indian fare for a long time.
It's the smile, courtesy of Shri. Bhat, his enquiries about families, along with chutney and sambar are the key ingredients which repeatedly draws me to this eatery
Idli vada karabath and kesari bath and chutney is ultimate here. Between 1999 and 2014when I was living in blore,I use to regularly visit this outlet with my family . Bhat treats you like a family member. He knows most of his regular customers....Even now whenevr I visit blore I make it a point to visit bhat...very friendly...
I love the way you present and the way you interview the owners. Most beautiful part is you take the name of the establishment atleast 10to 12 times. It is like a brand recall in advertising. Good to see you in covering small establishments. Keep doing.
been all around the world but nothing like our local cuisine. we just have so much to offer, just imagine which cuisine in the world can justify use of all vegetables, grams, seeds, lentils as a complete replacement to all non-veg dishes both in terms of taste and nutritional values. Hats off sir, i have never seen anyone describing the inner beauty of a dish like how you do. You are like a foodie poet who can form lyrics on the ongoing romance between the idly and thengai chutney. haha
Bhatru as I lovingly call him is the man behind all those delicious items. I will tell you that he remembers every customer and he hasn’t changed a bit in the last 2 decades that I have seen him. Very simple and down to earth. All the very best for Rutuparna to take this establishment to the next level.
I have been going here from about 20 odd years. He knows me, my dad and even our bag we give him for parcel/packing purposes. Even today when I go there, he asks how my dad's doing. Warm and gentle soul, Mr. Bhat!
The way you express about these simple food is amazing.Anyone can lust to east about these mouth watering Dose and wada and all these items. The food lovers and foodies wait for your videos. thanks.
This video have recollected my good old bachelor days (2004 - 2007) in JP Nagar where all my room mates used to have our breakfast almost on daily basis at SN refreshments. I am sure that the taste is still the same and I see owner is still same with the way he interacts with customers. Thanks for this video and I can still feel the taste of all items there even after 15 years. I am waiting for my next visit to Bangalore to have tummy full breakfast at this joint
Having a strong coffee after having great breakfast like this will be completely a stress relief... sambar taste with little spice for vada is good combo
The way you describe a simple idli chutney, khara bhath over and over again at establishments shows how much you enjoy your food ...after watching our craving intensifies for any delicacy you show ...big salute to that 😀
After continues request to check SN Refreshments. I’m more than happy that you had the same experience I had the first day I went to had all the tiffin. Love this video Kripal. Thank you for visiting SN Refreshments🙏🏻
I have eaten at this place every week for past 15 years😍. But not visited for last 6 months due to Covid ...I cant bear to see this video..😭😭😭...the vadas....this chutney is fit for the Gods...the staff there give us endless chutney😊...Sir, the way you described the idli vada chutney, you are a true Bangalorean..you know where the heart of Bangalore lies.
Hi Kripal, I have been watching your videos since about a year and these shows have become an addiction for me now :) I currently reside in Canada, but your shows bring back all fond memories of my eating experiences in those eatiers when I was in Bengaluru. The way you narrate, your honest yet judicious rating/critic definitely makes your channel stand unique. I am a fan of Gordon Ramsey shows, but now I must say, your videos are no lesser than any international food shows. I wish you all the best and lots & lots of success.
Have been going to this place from 15 + years. Awesome place. Idli, vada and khara Bhath are my Fav. Chutney is unique. My wife introduced this place to me. she doesnt like eat out. She loves this place. That owner "Bhattru" is a great person. I have moved little bit away from that location. Will go there, when ever we go around this place...worth going ...please try if you haven't....
First stop from Airport on the way home. The driver takes us there without any instructions. SN Refreshments and Taaza Thindi are the iconic establishments of South Bengaluru. Thanks for covering this Mr.Kripal. SN is located in not so busy street which makes finding parking space a little more easy. The Chutney there as you rightly pointed out is the star attraction! As I type this my taste buds are reminiscent with joy in anticipation of the taste as my mouth waters over it. Feels like a million bucks!
The way you are saying the feeling of idli vada and the way explain the tastes is too good Thank you sir for bringing so many good establishments 💐💐💐👏👏
As vividly as you describe the food Mr. Amanna, it feels as if I'm having it myself..... sincere regards from an admirer from abroad, who hasn't had the taste of vada in at least 8 years and yet could feel the vada and the chutney tingling on the tongue.
The content that sets your channel apart from a whole lot of other TH-camrs is your in-depth explanation. I have seen multiple channel owners just going out there making a video on how food is made and simply eating. Nothing wrong in that. The depth at which you go is fascinating and makes everyone fall in love at that place.
1. I have been going here since 1995 and can tell that the place has gotten bigger, better but the menu and taste are rock solid with the highest quality. The regulars will remember just the single garage stall here long ago. Some 20 people used to wait in that 10/10 place back then. 2. Great show Mr. Kripal, so glad you went here. 3. The idly vade kharabath and dose are bombs here. The DETONATOR is the CHUTNEY. 4. Very humble owner and great love. There were times when we used to eat without paying up front and pay later even after he introduced the token system. That's the trust he had in his regular customers. Just tell total at end and he used to happily receive that money. 5. No benne tuppa in standard fitting, but "double ge benne barli, double and kharabath ge benne barli" were the terms in practice here. 6. The legendary Girish Karnad used to love SN idly chutney and coffee. 7. Nostalgia 8. Visit once on a Sunday after corona gets mass introduced to the vaccine in Blr. You will see what SN is known for. There wont be even a 10 min window where its empty, 8 am to 11 am. 9. Hope you get time to read this 😋
Another thing that stands out in Mr. Amanna's critiques is his accent especially when he says "I 'can't' wait" to taste that idli, chutney etc.! Cheers to that!😊👍
Namskara anna, I'm a marwadi who has been born and brought up in bengaluru and speak fluent Kannada , I feel so much more in touch with my kannada roots everytime time i see your videos!
Kripal, you have been the best food columnist and worth of reaching milestones at the international level. Thanks for such great videos showcasing the real taste of culinary cuisines. Mr Bhat who runs this place is a great person and definitely serves food with love.
So nice to see this place feature, it's been a favourite forever! Despite of being a Mumbaite , I've been regularly eating at sn for more than 28 years. Another fan of the establishment was the legendary late Girish karnad, had spotted him there many many times .
This is my favorite place, we usually go to venkateshwara swamy Temple and visit this place idly and vada are awesome taste. Missing my Bangalore days.
Puliyogarey at Venkateshwara Swamy Devasthaana and Kesari Bhaath at SNR. This place was my regular since it used to be a stone's throw distance from my house in J.P. Nagar when I lived in Bangalore.
Kripal sir, I heard Jesus turns water to wine.... The way you express love to food, I am sure you can also have power of describing water in such a way, it will feel like wine for all
Since almost 07 years SNrefreshment has been my favorite place for thindi, you would have eaten pineapple Kesari throughout Bangalore in yellow color, but actually, Kesari means Orange color which is original and not copycat whenever I eat Kesai here I do the hmmm and Aaah as you do ..... Their Sambhar and Chutney are vera level because it's on the spicier level, and their customer service is very friendly I simply love this place and their evening snacks are also a must-try...
Hmm really missing those days we worked right next to this yummy place.. Everything just everything served there is so so delicious, after tasting Idly vada dosa here nowhere else you would want to eat,. Thank you Bhatre..,
Sir i have watched some videos from your channel. I like your work, especially the story of these small yet authentic, original, organic food makers and vendors who are so genuine, honest, humble and serve people with their food with the attitude that, serving food is not only their source of income but they are beyond earning money, they showcase the Bharatiya value of "atithi devo bhava" Hats off to these small yet organic, authentic food makers and to you as well for bringing forth their work, history, value in our society!!
After watching this episode, I just feel like driving to Bangaluru from Mumbai and eat those Idli vade and chatney. You described the food so beautifully and so much in detail, that we actually feel like being present at the very moment and relishing the food with you. From a humble Fan of your work.
I want to add one more thing Kripal ji, the craving of eating medu vade chatney was so intense after watching this video that we all just had home made vade chatney sambar for dinner and I tried to make the same spicy coconut white chatney after you praised it so much.. Thanks again for the visual delight in your every video.
Kashmira if you r soo interested to eat, I can help you. Making a idly and vaada is not big deal, provided if you have gud bater. Prepartion of idly and vadda is quite different . It varies from state to state.
@@828anuradha I would love to connect for the same. I m a Maharashtrian and here I have learnt the recipe from my mother. But definitely your recipe will be different.
@@kashmirathakur7215 I can guide you , you can enjoy gud taste . My mom makes gud vadda and idly. If you r eating non veg vadda and chicken is crazy combination.
I sincerely appreciate Mr. Kripal ji work even in this pandemic times by visting places of food by taking all nessasary precautions. This shows how dedicated is he and his team at work and also some way it will be helpful to the eateries in this situation. Must have a big and kind heart to do this , Kripal ji have that . Thank you for posting videos and making us happy.
Nostalgia... Thank you Kripal, reminded me of our good ol' college days. Big fan of this place, Idli, Vada with Chutney dip, Khara Bhaath with butter 😊...
I've recently bumped into one of your videos, and I must say, your description of food and its tasting is very addictive. I have adapted a ritual of sorts where I watch your videos while having my food, feels like I'm tasting the food you're eating more than the food I eat while watching 😀 To end my comment, I would like to suggest you to taste the iconic Mutton Kheema Biryani at Kritunga restaurant in Electronic City, Bangalore. Believe me when I say this, you'll fall in love with it.
Your Presentation is simply delicious, its appetite booster, and makes mouth to water, when mouth water what ever we eats it tastes delicious. Good Going...
Puliyogre..must try here.only on Tuesday and Thursday you get here ...I love them.💝💝💝💝💖..they are so friendly... The owner is a leader. Best wishes for them🌈🌈💐💐
The cinematographer deserves a Kesari bath for his work. Especially at 19:00, he placed the camera low to focus on the filter coffee being poured to a glass while Kripal is performing an orchestrated grand speech about a humble khara bath.
Thank you for the videos sir.... I have been binge watching ur videos and now u feel like one of our own n part of my life.... Ur honesty n character is what stays with the viewer after ur videos .....great job 👍🙏
Hi kripal. you guys are doing a good job in food industry. a small suggestion. it would be nice if you can present a certificate of appreciation to the food joint you visit, like a placard, it would be helpful to them for marketing during trying times and customers are also happy to see that you visitied that place and you recommend it.
I use to visit this restaurant when I was staying near it. I use to see Gurish Karnad as a regular visitor. I love this place very much. Dosa they serve is excellent.
In addition to beautiful explanation which waters our mouths instantly, I love your grace ful expressions kripalji. I like all ur videos with veg.food. God bless ur appetite. Keep it up.
The way you describe food while having it, is truly commendable. Food craving sets in after seeing your "Food Lovers TV" video...! Establishments like SN refreshments deserve this credit & visibility, which you have managed to do really well. Kudos to you & your team for the wonderful work that you have been selflessly performing over the years.
Kripalji you have amazing English vocabulary and its dialect too..... of course your appreciated for all your food videos,as they nice in every sense but here one cannot miss your mesmerizing Spoken English. I simply watch all them for your English along with eatery points. Best Wishes from Mumbai
Fantastic Commentary. I am getting the strong urge to visit Bangalore again just to visit all the restaurants you have visited. I missed visiting any when i was in bangalore last time. Will definitely visit all next time. Thanks to Kripal. Love from Chennai.

The content that sets your channel apart from a whole lot of other TH-camrs is your in-depth explanation. I have seen multiple channel owners just going out there making a video on how food is made and simply eating. Nothing wrong in that. The depth at which you go is fascinating and makes everyone fall in love at that place.
The way you describe is amazing. Keep introducing us to the delights of such wonderful eateries.
You refreshed my childhood memories. Used to have breakfast during school days 😀 hands down best breakfast 😍
What school
Lol @Chickhunter 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Hey Raksha, I was there . Hope you remember seeing me
7. Nostalgia
Namaskar anna
Kripal, you have been the best food columnist and worth of reaching milestones at the international level. Thanks for such great videos showcasing the real taste of culinary cuisines. Mr Bhat who runs this place is a great person and definitely serves food with love.
I love vada and kharabhath here.love this place. I love ur vedios because u eat both veg and non veg dishes with same love and interest
I love it when you introduce such underrated spots via your channel. You are truly helping local businesses survive these hard times.
This is an AMAZING EATERY on par with any of the iconic/branded restaurants. The Idli-Vada & Masala Dosa are too good.
Kripal's eating commentry is tempting the viewers to visit S.N. Refreshments, J.P. Nagar, Bangalore.
Love the way you speak Kannada and also appreciate the proper pronunciation of idly, vade, chutney, dose❤️
6.54-6.57 your Kannada is so cute !!!Also love the way you say vade, oggaraNe,dosey, khāra, gatti chutney, gari gari....Keep it going Sir.
So nice to see this place feature, it's been a favourite forever! Despite of being a Mumbaite , I've been regularly eating at sn for more than 28 years. Another fan of the establishment was the legendary late Girish karnad, had spotted him there many many times .
Thats also because he lived very close by , a few roads behind if I remember correctly!
Satish Sathyanarayana Karnad lived in Jayanagara, but this place was still walkavle
@@Col.J.N.W.SinghKhandala Same here. I hope I will see Bangalore again, when I come to India.
Kripal sir, I heard Jesus turns water to wine.... The way you express love to food, I am sure you can also have power of describing water in such a way, it will feel like wine for all
You are far too kind! 🙏😊
Water into wine😂🤣, don't drink it's good for health bro
This is a good venture to explore the NOT FAMOUS but excellent eateries.... encourages smaller entrepreneurs 👌👍
When I see your vedios I really feel that iam there having the food ..... It's great.
Hmm really missing those days we worked right next to this yummy place.. Everything just everything served there is so so delicious, after tasting Idly vada dosa here nowhere else you would want to eat,. Thank you Bhatre..,
When I was staying in Bangalore I used eat in SN my favorite place to eat masala dosa now iam remembering those days thank you
మాటల మాంత్రికుడు ఆయన 😂
Surely a place to visit for a quick bite , I am missing Mr Ramachandra Bhat's greeting and his hotel food .Thanks Kripal for sharing this video
Idli without chutni is like Romeo without Juliet
Sir i have watched some videos from your channel. I like your work, especially the story of these small yet authentic, original, organic food makers and vendors who are so genuine, honest, humble and serve people with their food with the attitude that, serving food is not only their source of income but they are beyond earning money, they showcase the Bharatiya value of "atithi devo bhava"
Hats off to these small yet organic, authentic food makers and to you as well for bringing forth their work, history, value in our society!!
Happy to learn of this Kashmira, happy eating! 😋
Best part about kripal he uses his hands while eating food no cullinaries at all and that makes watching episodes more fun , enjoying them a lot.
This man knows how to explain taste!,
Which brings water in our mouths!
The way this fellow relishes these snacks and the way he describes makes you want to be at this place and try out
Ruthpurna sharma he is a fabolous speaker he had come to my college he is a book writer toooo damnnnnn❤️💯🙏im going there tmrw
Thank you... Welcome :)
@@ruthudud3 welcome brooo love frm jain clg 🙏😎👀
First thing I did when hotels opened after lockdown was to get a idly vade parcel from SN... The ಗಟ್ಟಿ chutney there is something else❤️
I have adapted a ritual of sorts where I watch your videos while having my food, feels like I'm tasting the food you're eating more than the food I eat while watching 😀
To end my comment, I would like to suggest you to taste the iconic Mutton Kheema Biryani at Kritunga restaurant in Electronic City, Bangalore. Believe me when I say this, you'll fall in love with it.
One of our favorite places to have breakfast...it was the first eatery we visited when we moved to Bangalore 10 years ago!
No one can give best expression for tasty vade, idli,nd chutney
I don't know what will be test of idli wade, but seeing your experience and explained my mouth is getting watering.
Thanks for covering this place. Refreshed memories around 15 yrs back.
Thank you for the videos sir.... I have been binge watching ur videos and now u feel like one of our own n part of my life.... Ur honesty n character is what stays with the viewer after ur videos .....great job 👍🙏
The way u explained about Chutney makes me to visit their once for sure ❤️🙏🏻
Appreciate the effort this man puts in explaining the food around. Not even jewelry seller will spend this much effort when selling any ornaments. 👍
Good explanation sir...guys just close your eyes and listen..all the pictures come on mind
Hi kripal. you guys are doing a good job in food industry. a small suggestion. it would be nice if you can present a certificate of appreciation to the food joint you visit, like a placard, it would be helpful to them for marketing during trying times and customers are also happy to see that you visitied that place and you recommend it.
Loved the line "when you are tasting food, taste with all the senses"
hands down, this is the best vade I have ever had
Define idli and chutney? Answer by kripal is excellent 👌
Kripalji you have amazing English vocabulary and its dialect too..... of course your appreciated for all your food videos,as they nice in every sense but here one cannot miss your mesmerizing Spoken English. I simply watch all them for your English along with eatery points. Best Wishes from Mumbai
Spent time eating here for many years during college days and our bhatre is splendid...just had 15 days back
Fantastic Commentary. I am getting the strong urge to visit Bangalore again just to visit all the restaurants you have visited. I missed visiting any when i was in bangalore last time. Will definitely visit all next time. Thanks to Kripal. Love from Chennai.
