great video, thank you. seems conflicting that this is in-part about accessibility, performance, best practices, etc yet there aren't even any YT "Chapters" to help us navigate the video?

Two questions I'd love some help with:
    1. Can anyone point me to a resource where I can learn more about designing with component and CSS queries?
    2. Same as above but for using HDR colors in Figma?
    Thanks in advance!

Google created their own color space called HCT, but it seems that they are not using it that much? Some of the samples they gave in this speech used oklch

The thing about color is it still won't reproduce predictable and consistently cross devices. On top of that there's the biological aspect, we don't see and perceive colors the same, on the contrary it varies big time. So spending alot of time on that topic isn't too fruitful all the time we're not able to control what the user sees. Securing contrast combability and choose colors from a semantic viewpoint should be the main priority. Other than that we're literary left to our own devices.

Am I missing something? Figma, including Figma Beta, still doesn't have access to oklch. Even its rgb color function markup is outdated. Example, rgba(217, 217, 217, 1) should be rgb(217 217 217 / 1)

Great to hear! But that’s a little troubling to know the Figma team missed the color gamuts initiative that has been progressing for a long time

Another reason why you should keep up to date on CSS standards if you work with web products.

Figma doesn't have 90% of the features shown in this video. Makes me just want a design tool that actually uses CSS.

Hope all at figma are watching this, as figma still has almost no capabilities to do responsive design. In fact, trying to do responsive design in figma invokes acute loss of hair...

These guys have no idea what they're talking about. the SDR vs HDR gradient is complete nonense, and this guy really said "I add a little but of hue, and a little bit of chroma..." complete nonsense. Clueless.

Absolutely agreed. The over-excited behavior fools amateurs and posers and they immediately "love"" these presenters. But have no idea about the actual content. Instagram marks.

Unwatchable. Get adult speakers that can maintain decorum and not be wildly excited when speaking. Speak at a speed that people can listen and take away value. Not just a rushed infomercial. Not everyone wants to see ridiculous excitement when we are trying to consume features and learn.
