Jimi and Stevie maybe be gone but this guy Phillip Sayce is the real deal. From ripping solos to sweet melodies to soulful singing this guys is the ticket. He is like where Stevie's was at El Macombo. I hope this guy gets is shot cause he deserves it.
Amazing how fast Philip can wear the crap out of a guitar. It wasn't long ago he posted a video when he first bought this guitar and it's in much, much better shape then it is now. He just destroy's the finish on top of the pickguard with his pick, and wears out guitars faster then I've seen anyone
@JohnML I wish!! No John. The guy in the white shirt-studying Sayce so closely-is young guitar genius Virgil McMahon, of Virgil and the Accelerators. A band I thoroughly recommend you listen to!!
Do tell, the dark profiles of the audience make it tough to tell who the "other" guitar genius is that's checking out Philip here. Anyone that appreciates Philip deserves to be looked up, who's the other genius?
I cant quite understand how he got so much wear on the guitar in some of the strangest places. I realise everyone is different but to me and I stress, just to my mind, I believe in looking after your instruments. I've got guitars I've purchased new that are up to 38 years old that are as new and been played extensively. They might have a tiny chip or two which is unavoidable, the scratchplates are worn but the bodys are excellent. I always wipe them down after I use them and store them in their cases, never stand them up against an amp or wall, always in a guitar stand, always pack them myself. To me they are precious and valuable and will always perform at their best. This guy is a great muso but I'm not sure he respects his instruments enough. Each to his own I guess but if I can keep my '52 tele in as good a condition as when I first got it and still play the heart out of it, well, why cant this guy? Just saying..
I cant get enough of listening/watching philip and co. Cant wait for him to come to new england

Victor Takehara he has actually been around for years, use to play with Jeff Healey
Killer VIBRATO, sounds like a 800lb bumblebee. Drummer and Bass player sound fantastic and groove just right without getting in each others way.
everything about Philip Sayce is beautiful
I just can't hear enough of this....
Right On... The Whole Band
Great Vid, Killer Sound & Awesome Performance! Thx for posting it...

Is Joe Bonamassa the guy in the white shirt? Around the 8 minute mark?

@omegalast800 Lol, thanks Pete! A little leaf out of your book maybe!!
I think he took some more paint off his strat at the end there.
Lmao. That's one way to stop a double encore!

In what context is the sound bad?

Don't know man. I personally love the worn look and if it plays great than there's no reason to worry.
it also depends on your sweat. rory gallagher had a rare bloodtype that's why he ''stripped'' the finish of his guitar real quick.
voxac30withstrat this guy plays 4 hour sets 5 or 6 nights a week.......... thats probably got something to do wit it
Great sound, bad audio :))
grt awesome bad sound tho
the sound was good excepted the reverb was too much!
